¹In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

¹Sekitar waktu itu Raja Hizkia sakit bisul yang parah sehingga hampir saja meninggal. Nabi Yesaya anak Amos mengunjungi dia dan berkata, "TUHAN berpesan supaya Baginda membereskan semua urusan, sebab Baginda tak akan sembuh. Tidak lama lagi Baginda akan meninggal."

²Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,

²Hizkia berpaling ke tembok lalu berdoa,

³I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

³"TUHAN, ingatlah bahwa aku ini sudah mengabdi kepada-Mu dengan setia dan tulus hati. Aku selalu berusaha menuruti kemauan-Mu." Lalu Hizkia menangis dengan pilu.

⁴And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

⁴Yesaya meninggalkan Hizkia, tetapi sebelum ia keluar dari halaman tengah istana, TUHAN menyuruh dia

⁵Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

⁵kembali kepada Hizkia, raja umat TUHAN, dan menyampaikan pesan ini, "Aku, TUHAN, Allah yang disembah Daud leluhurmu, sudah mendengar doamu dan melihat air matamu. Aku akan menyembuhkan engkau; lusa engkau akan pergi ke rumah-Ku.

⁶And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

⁶Aku akan menambah umurmu dengan 15 tahun lagi. Engkau dan kota Yerusalem akan Kulepaskan dari raja Asyur. Kota ini akan Kulindungi demi kehormatan-Ku sendiri dan demi perjanjian-Ku dengan hamba-Ku Daud."

⁷And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

⁷Lalu Yesaya menyuruh orang melumatkan buah ara dan mengoleskannya pada bisul raja supaya ia sembuh.

⁸And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?

⁸Raja Hizkia bertanya, "Apakah tandanya bahwa TUHAN akan menyembuhkan aku dan bahwa lusa aku akan dapat ke Rumah TUHAN lagi?"

⁹And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

⁹Yesaya menjawab, "TUHAN akan memberi tanda kepada Baginda bahwa Ia menepati janji-Nya. Sekarang, manakah yang Baginda inginkan: bayangan pada penunjuk jam matahari buatan Raja Ahas maju 10 garis atau mundur 10 garis?"

¹⁰And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

¹⁰Hizkia berkata, "Untuk membuat bayangan itu maju 10 garis, mudah saja. Karena itu buatlah dia mundur 10 garis."

¹¹And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

¹¹Yesaya berdoa kepada TUHAN, lalu TUHAN membuat bayangan itu mundur 10 garis pada penunjuk jam matahari itu.

¹²At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

¹²Sekitar waktu itu raja Babel, yaitu Merodakh-Baladan anak Baladan, mendengar bahwa Raja Hizkia baru sembuh dari sakit. Maka ia mengutus orang untuk membawa surat dan hadiah kepada Hizkia.

¹³And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and showed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah showed them not.

¹³Hizkia menyambut para utusan itu dan menunjukkan kepada mereka segala kekayaannya, yaitu emas dan perak, rempah-rempah dan minyak wangi, dan seluruh perlengkapan tentaranya. Tak ada sesuatu pun di istana dan di seluruh kerajaannya yang tidak diperlihatkannya kepada mereka.

¹⁴Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

¹⁴Kemudian Nabi Yesaya menghadap Raja Hizkia dan bertanya, "Dari mana orang-orang itu? Apa kata mereka?" Hizkia menjawab, "Mereka dari Babel, negeri yang jauh."

¹⁵And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showed them.

¹⁵"Mereka melihat apa di istana?" tanya Yesaya lagi. "Segala-galanya!" jawab Hizkia. "Tidak ada sesuatu pun di dalam perbendaharaan istana yang tidak kuperlihatkan kepada mereka."

¹⁶And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.

¹⁶Lalu Yesaya berkata kepada raja, "TUHAN berkata bahwa

¹⁷Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

¹⁷akan tiba saatnya segala kekayaan di dalam istanamu dan yang telah dikumpulkan leluhurmu sampai hari ini, diangkut ke Babel. Tidak ada yang akan tertinggal.

¹⁸And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

¹⁸Dari anak cucumu ada yang akan diambil dan dijadikan pegawai istana untuk melayani raja Babel."

¹⁹Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

¹⁹Raja Hizkia menjawab, "Baik juga pesan TUHAN yang kausampaikan kepadaku." Ia menjawab begitu karena ia pikir: "Asal kerajaanku tetap aman dan damai selama aku hidup."

²⁰And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

²⁰Kisah lainnya mengenai Raja Hizkia, mengenai jasa-jasa kepahlawanannya, dan bagaimana ia membuat kolam dan saluran air untuk menyalurkan air ke kota, semuanya dicatat dalam buku Sejarah Raja-raja Yehuda.

²¹And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

²¹Hizkia meninggal, lalu Manasye anaknya menjadi raja menggantikan dia.
