¹And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

¹TUHAN melindungi Raja Daud dari segala gangguan musuhnya, sehingga ia dapat menetap di dalam istananya.

²That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

²Maka berkatalah raja kepada Nabi Natan, "Lihat, aku ini tinggal di istana yang dibuat dari kayu cemara Libanon, padahal Peti Perjanjian Allah hanya disimpan di dalam kemah saja!"

³And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.

³Jawab Natan, "Lakukanlah segala niat Baginda, sebab TUHAN menolong Baginda."

⁴And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,

⁴Tetapi pada malam itu TUHAN berkata kepada Natan,

⁵Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

⁵"Pergilah dan sampaikanlah kepada hamba-Ku Daud pesan-Ku ini, 'Masakan engkau yang mendirikan rumah bagi-Ku.

⁶Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

⁶Sejak bangsa Israel Kubebaskan dari Mesir sampai sekarang, belum pernah Aku tinggal dalam sebuah rumah, melainkan selalu mengembara dan tinggal di sebuah kemah.

⁷In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

⁷Selama pengembaraan-Ku bersama bangsa Israel, belum pernah Aku bertanya kepada pemimpin-pemimpin yang telah Kupilih, apa sebabnya mereka tidak mendirikan rumah dari kayu cemara Libanon untuk Aku.'

⁸Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

⁸Sebab itu, Natan, beritahukanlah kepada hamba-Ku Daud, bahwa Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahakuasa, berkata kepadanya, 'Engkau telah kuambil dari pekerjaanmu menggembalakan domba dipadang dan Kuangkat menjadi raja atas umat-Ku Israel.

⁹And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

⁹Aku telah menyertai engkau ke mana saja engkau pergi, dan segala musuhmu telah Kutumpas pada waktu engkau bertempur. Engkau akan Kubuat termasyhur seperti pemimpin-pemimpin yang paling besar di dunia.

¹⁰Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

¹⁰Lagipula, bagi umat-Ku Israel telah Kusediakan tempat dan Kusuruh mereka menetap di situ, supaya mereka dapat hidup tenang, tanpa diganggu lagi. Sejak kedatangan mereka ke tanah ini dahulu, dan Kuangkat pemimpin-pemimpin untuk mereka, mereka telah diserang oleh orang-orang yang suka kekerasan, tetapi hal itu tidak akan terjadi lagi. Aku berjanji bahwa engkau akan aman dari segala musuh, dan Aku akan memberikan keturunan kepadamu.

¹¹And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

¹¹(7:10)

¹²And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

¹²Kelak, jika sampai ajalmu, dan engkau dikuburkan di makam leluhurmu, seorang dari putramu akan Kuangkat menjadi raja. Dialah yang akan mendirikan rumah bagi-Ku. Kerajaannya akan Kukukuhkan dan untuk selama-lamanya seorang keturunannya akan memerintah sebagai raja.

¹³He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

¹³(7:12)

¹⁴I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

¹⁴Aku akan menjadi bapaknya, dan dia akan menjadi putra-Ku. Apabila dia berbuat salah, dia akan Kuhukum seperti seorang bapak menghukum anaknya.

¹⁵But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

¹⁵Tetapi Aku akan tetap berbuat baik kepadanya sesuai dengan janji-Ku. Janji-Ku kepadanya akan tetap Kupegang, tidak seperti yang Kulakukan kepada Saul yang telah Kugeser dari kedudukannya supaya engkau bisa menjadi raja.

¹⁶And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

¹⁶Engkau akan selalu mempunyai keturunan, dan Aku akan membuat kerajaanmu bertahan selama-lamanya. Untuk selama-lamanya seorang dari keturunanmu akan memerintah sebagai raja.'"

¹⁷According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

¹⁷Lalu Natan memberitahukan kepada Daud segala yang telah dinyatakan Allah kepadanya.

¹⁸Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

¹⁸Lalu masuklah Raja Daud ke dalam Kemah TUHAN. Dia duduk dan berdoa, "Ya TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, aku dan keluargaku tidak layak menerima segala kebaikan yang Kautunjukkan kepadaku selama ini.

¹⁹And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

¹⁹Bahkan Engkau berbuat lebih dari itu, ya TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi; Engkau telah membuat janji mengenai keturunanku untuk masa yang akan datang. Dan Kauperlihatkan hal itu kepadaku, meskipun aku hanya manusia, ya TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi!

²⁰And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.

²⁰Apalagi yang dapat kukatakan kepada-Mu? Engkau mengetahui segalanya tentang hamba-Mu ini.

²¹For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

²¹Demi janji-Mu dan atas kemauan-Mu sendiri Engkau melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan besar itu untuk mengajar hamba-Mu ini.

²²Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

²²Engkau sungguh besar, ya TUHAN Allah! Hanya Engkaulah Allah, tidak ada yang sama dengan Engkau. Kami tahu hal itu sebab sudah diberitahukan sejak dahulu.

²³And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

²³Di seluruh bumi tidak ada bangsa seperti Israel. Israel satu-satunya bangsa yang telah Kaubebaskan dari perbudakan untuk menjadi umat-Mu sendiri. Segala perbuatan besar dan ajaib yang Kaulakukan bagi mereka, membuat nama-Mu termasyhur di seluruh dunia. Bangsa-bangsa lain beserta dewa-dewa mereka telah Kauusir pada waktu umat-Mu maju bertempur.

²⁴For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.

²⁴Bangsa Israel telah Kaujadikan umat-Mu sendiri untuk selama-lamanya, dan Engkau ya TUHAN, menjadi Allah mereka.

²⁵And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

²⁵Dan sekarang, ya TUHAN Allah, sudilah Engkau mengukuhkan untuk selama-lamanya janji yang Kauucapkan mengenai diriku dan keturunanku. Sudilah melaksanakan apa yang telah Kaujanjikan itu.

²⁶And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

²⁶Di mana-mana orang akan selalu mengagungkan nama-Mu dan berkata, 'TUHAN Yang Mahakuasa ialah Allah atas Israel.' Maka untuk selama-lamanya seorang dari keturunanku akan memerintah sebagai raja atas bangsa ini.

²⁷For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

²⁷TUHAN Yang Mahakuasa! Aku memberanikan diri memanjatkan doa ini kepada-Mu, sebab Engkau sendiri sudah memberitahukan kepadaku bahwa anak cucuku turun-temurun Kaujadikan raja atas bangsa ini.

²⁸And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

²⁸Ya TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, Engkaulah Allah; semua janji-Mu Kautepati, dan hal yang indah itu telah Kaujanjikan kepadaku.

²⁹Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

²⁹Sebab itu, aku mohon, sudilah memberkati keturunanku supaya selama-lamanya mereka tetap merasakan kasih-Mu. Ya TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, semua itu telah Kaujanjikan, maka keturunanku akan tetap Kauberkati untuk selama-lamanya."
