¹Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.

¹"Cintailah TUHAN Allahmu, dan taatilah selalu segala perintah-Nya.

²And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,

²Ingatlah sekarang apa yang kamu ketahui tentang TUHAN dari pengalamanmu. Anak-anakmu tidak mempunyai pengalaman itu. Kamulah yang telah menyaksikan keagungan TUHAN Allahmu, kekuatan-Nya, kekuasaan-Nya

³And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;

³dan keajaiban-keajaiban yang dilakukan-Nya. Kamu melihat sendiri apa yang dilakukan-Nya terhadap raja Mesir dan seluruh negerinya.

⁴And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;

⁴Kamu melihat bagaimana TUHAN memusnahkan tentara Mesir bersama semua kuda dan kereta perangnya. Mereka semua ditenggelamkan di Laut Gelagah ketika sedang mengejar kamu.

⁵And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;

⁵Kamu tahu apa yang dilakukan TUHAN bagimu di padang gurun sebelum kamu sampai di sini.

⁶And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:

⁶Kamu juga ingat apa yang dilakukan TUHAN terhadap Datan dan Abiram, anak-anak Eliab dari suku Ruben. Di depan kamu semua, bumi terbelah lalu menelan mereka bersama keluarga, kemah, semua hamba dan ternak mereka.

⁷But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.

⁷Ya, kamulah yang dengan mata kepala sendiri telah melihat semua keajaiban yang dilakukan TUHAN."

⁸Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;

⁸"Taatilah semua hukum yang saya sampaikan kepadamu hari ini, maka kamu dapat menyeberangi sungai dan masuk ke negeri yang tak lama lagi kamu diami.

⁹And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

⁹Dan kamu akan hidup lama di negeri yang kaya dan subur, yang dijanjikan TUHAN kepada nenek moyangmu dan kepada keturunan mereka.

¹⁰For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:

¹⁰Negeri yang kamu diami nanti tidak seperti tanah Mesir, tempat kamu dahulu tinggal. Di sana kamu harus bekerja keras untuk mengairi ladang-ladang pada waktu menabur benih.

¹¹But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:

¹¹Tetapi negeri yang akan kamu masuki terdiri dari pegunungan dan lembah-lembah; tanahnya diairi oleh hujan.

¹²A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

¹²TUHAN Allahmu memelihara negeri itu dan menjagainya sepanjang tahun.

¹³And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹³Jadi taatilah perintah-perintah yang saya sampaikan kepadamu hari ini; cintailah TUHAN Allahmu dan beribadatlah kepada-Nya dengan seluruh jiwa ragamu.

¹⁴That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

¹⁴Kalau kamu berbuat begitu, maka TUHAN akan menurunkan hujan atas tanahmu pada musimnya, sehabis kamu panen, dan pada waktu kamu mulai menanam. Maka kamu akan mempunyai cukup gandum, anggur dan minyak zaitun,

¹⁵And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.

¹⁵serta rumput untuk ternakmu. Segala makanan yang kamu perlukan akan tersedia bagimu.

¹⁶Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

¹⁶Jangan kamu mau dijauhkan dari TUHAN untuk menyembah dan mengabdi kepada ilah-ilah lain.

¹⁷And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

¹⁷Kalau kamu melanggar perintah itu, TUHAN akan marah kepadamu. Ia tidak akan menurunkan hujan; tanahmu menjadi kering kerontang sehingga tanaman tidak memberi hasil. Maka dalam waktu singkat kamu mati di tanah subur yang diberikan TUHAN kepadamu.

¹⁸Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

¹⁸Ingatlah dan perhatikanlah perintah-perintah itu. Ikatkan pada lenganmu dan pasanglah pada dahimu untuk diingat-ingat.

¹⁹And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

¹⁹Ajarkanlah kepada anak-anakmu. Bicarakanlah di dalam rumah dan di luar rumah, waktu beristirahat dan waktu bekerja.

²⁰And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:

²⁰Tuliskanlah di tiang pintu rumahmu dan di pintu gerbangmu.

²¹That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

²¹Maka kamu dan anak-anakmu akan panjang umur di negeri yang dijanjikan TUHAN Allahmu kepada nenek moyangmu. Selama ada langit di atas bumi, selama itu pula kamu akan diam di tanah itu.

²²For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

²²Taatilah dengan setia semua hukum yang saya sampaikan kepadamu: Cintailah TUHAN Allahmu, lakukanlah segala yang diperintahkan-Nya kepadamu, dan hendaklah kamu tetap setia kepada-Nya.

²³Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.

²³Maka TUHAN akan mengusir semua bangsa itu dari hadapanmu, dan kamu akan mendiami tanah kepunyaan bangsa-bangsa yang lebih besar dan lebih kuat daripadamu.

²⁴Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.

²⁴Setiap wilayah yang kamu jejaki akan menjadi milikmu. Wilayahmu terbentang dari padang gurun di selatan sampai ke Pegunungan Libanon di utara, dan dari Sungai Efrat di timur sampai ke Laut Tengah di barat.

²⁵There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

²⁵Di seluruh negeri itu TUHAN Allahmu akan membuat orang-orang ketakutan terhadapmu seperti yang dijanjikan-Nya, sehingga tak seorang pun dapat menghalangi kamu.

²⁶Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

²⁶Hari ini kamu boleh memilih antara berkat dan kutuk.

²⁷A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

²⁷Kamu akan diberkati kalau taat kepada perintah-perintah TUHAN Allahmu, yang hari ini saya sampaikan kepadamu.

²⁸And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

²⁸Tetapi kamu akan dikutuk kalau tidak taat kepada perintah-perintah TUHAN Allahmu, melainkan berbalik untuk menyembah ilah-ilah lain yang tidak pernah kamu sembah.

²⁹And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.

²⁹Sesudah TUHAN Allahmu membawa kamu masuk ke negeri yang kamu diami nanti, berkat itu harus kamu ucapkan dari Gunung Gerizim dan kutuk itu dari Gunung Ebal.

³⁰Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?

³⁰(Kedua gunung itu terletak di sebelah barat Sungai Yordan di wilayah orang Kanaan yang tinggal di Lembah Yordan, menghadap ke barat tak jauh dari pohon-pohon tempat ibadat di More dekat kota Gilgal.)

³¹For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.

³¹Tak lama lagi kamu menyeberangi Sungai Yordan dan menduduki tanah yang diberikan TUHAN Allahmu kepadamu. Sesudah kamu merebut tanah itu dan berdiam di situ,

³²And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.

³²kamu harus mentaati semua hukum yang saya sampaikan kepadamu hari ini."
