¹And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹TUHAN berkata kepadaku, kata-Nya,

²Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

²"Hai manusia fana, kutukilah Yerusalem. Kutukilah tempat-tempat ibadat di sana. Peringatkanlah tanah Israel,

³And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

³bahwa Aku, TUHAN, berkata begini, 'Aku ini musuhmu. Aku akan mencabut pedang-Ku dan membunuh kamu semua, yang jahat maupun yang baik.

⁴Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

⁴Dengan pedang-Ku akan Kulawan semua orang dari utara sampai ke selatan.

⁵That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.

⁵Maka semua orang akan tahu bahwa Aku, TUHAN, mencabut pedang-Ku dan tidak akan menyarungkannya kembali.'

⁶Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.

⁶Hai manusia fana, mengeranglah dan mengaduhlah di depan orang-orang Israel, seolah-olah engkau patah hati dan putus asa.

⁷And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.

⁷Jika mereka bertanya mengapa engkau mengaduh, katakanlah bahwa engkau sedih karena berita yang akan datang. Berita itu akan membuat hati mereka gentar, tangan mereka lemas, dan lutut mereka gemetar, mereka akan patah semangat. Sungguh saatnya telah tiba, dan semua itu akan terjadi. Aku TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi telah berbicara."

⁸Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

⁸TUHAN berkata kepadaku,

⁹Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:

⁹"Hai manusia fana, meramallah! Beritahukanlah kepada orang-orang bahwa Aku, TUHAN berkata begini, 'Adalah sebuah pedang, pedang yang digosok dan ditajamkan.

¹⁰It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.

¹⁰Ia ditajamkan agar bisa mematikan, dilicinkan agar berkilau-kilauan. Bagi umat-Ku tak ada lagi kegembiraan sebab segala peringatan dan hukuman mereka abaikan.

¹¹And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

¹¹Pedang itu diasah supaya selalu siap dipakai lalu diserahkan kepada seorang pembantai.

¹²Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.

¹²Hai manusia fana, merataplah dan berseru! Sebab pedang itu siap melawan umat-Ku. Para pemimpin Israel bersama seluruh bangsa akan ditikam pedang itu hingga binasa. Maka tepuklah dadamu dengan pilu,

¹³Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.

¹³sebab Aku sedang menguji umat-Ku, jika mereka tak mau memperbaiki kelakuannya, semua itu akan terjadi pada mereka.'

¹⁴Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together. and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.

¹⁴Nah, manusia fana, meramallah. Tepuklah tanganmu, sebagai tanda bagi pedang itu untuk mulai membantai. Pedang itu sangat menakutkan.

¹⁵I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.

¹⁵Ia membuat bangsa-Ku hilang keberaniannya dan jatuh tersandung. Aku mengancam kota mereka dengan pedang itu yang mengkilap seperti kilat, dan yang siap untuk membunuh.

¹⁶Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.

¹⁶Hai pedang yang tajam, pancunglah ke kanan dan ke kiri, dan ke arah mana saja menurut keinginanmu.

¹⁷I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.

¹⁷Aku akan tepuk tangan juga, lalu kemarahan-Ku akan reda. Aku, TUHAN telah berbicara."

¹⁸The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,

¹⁸TUHAN berbicara kepadaku, kata-Nya,

¹⁹Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.

¹⁹"Hai manusia fana, gambarlah dua jalan yang dapat dilalui oleh raja Babel yang membawa pedangnya. Kedua jalan itu harus berpangkal dari negeri yang sama; jalan yang satu menuju ke Raba, kota Amon; yang satu lagi ke Yerusalem, kota berbenteng di Yehuda. Pasanglah papan penunjuk jalan di mana jalan itu mulai bercabang.

²⁰Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.

²⁰(21:19)

²¹For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.

²¹Raja Babel berdiri di dekat papan penunjuk jalan itu. Untuk mengetahui jalan mana yang akan dilaluinya, ia meminta petunjuk dari berhala-berhalanya, mengocok panah dan memeriksa hati binatang yang baru dikurbankan.

²²At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.

²²Ternyata panah yang terambil oleh tangan kanannya bertanda Yerusalem! Itu berarti bahwa raja harus menyerang kota Yerusalem, menyerukan pekik pertempuran dan menyuruh tentaranya menyusun alat-alat pendobrak, memasangnya pada pintu-pintu gerbang Yerusalem, menimbun tanah menjadi tembok pengepungan dan menggali parit-parit.

²³And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

²³Penduduk Yerusalem tidak akan percaya bahwa mereka diserang, karena mereka telah membuat perjanjian dengan Babel. Tetapi ramalan ini akan memperingatkan mereka bahwa mereka akan ditangkap karena dosa-dosa mereka.

²⁴Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

²⁴Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata kepada mereka, 'Dosa-dosamu sudah ketahuan dan semua orang tahu bahwa kamu bersalah. Kejahatanmu tampak dalam setiap tindakanmu. Sekarang sudah tiba saatnya kamu dihukum dan kamu akan Kuserahkan kepada musuhmu.'

²⁵And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,

²⁵Dan kepada raja Israel Aku berkata, 'Hai raja yang jahat dan durhaka! Saat untuk hukumanmu yang terakhir sudah dekat.

²⁶Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.

²⁶Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi sudah berbicara. Lepaskanlah mahkotamu dan bukalah serbanmu. Sekarang, keadaan sudah berubah. Angkatlah kedudukan orang miskin dan berilah mereka kuasa! Turunkan para penguasa dari martabatnya!

²⁷I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

²⁷Kota ini akan Kuhancurkan sama sekali, sehingga di mana-mana ada puing-puing. Tetapi hal itu baru terjadi apabila orang yang Kupilih untuk menghukum kota ini telah datang. Kepada dialah akan Kuserahkan kota ini.'"

²⁸And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:

²⁸"Hai manusia fana, meramallah! Beritahukanlah kepada orang Amon yang telah menghina Israel, bahwa Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata, 'Sebuah pedang sudah siap untuk membantai; pedang itu sudah diasah mengkilap seperti kilat, supaya siap untuk membunuh.

²⁹Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.

²⁹Penglihatan yang kamu lihat adalah palsu, dan ramalan yang kamu ucapkan juga bohong dan dusta. Kamu jahat serta durhaka, dan saat untuk hukumanmu yang terakhir sudah dekat. Pedang itu akan memenggal lehermu.

³⁰Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.

³⁰Hai orang Amon, sarungkanlah kembali pedangmu! Kamu akan Kuhakimi di tempat kamu diciptakan dan dilahirkan.

³¹And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.

³¹Aku akan melampiaskan ke atasmu kemarahan-Ku yang menyala-nyala. Dan kamu akan Kuserahkan kepada orang-orang yang kejam yang terlatih untuk membinasakan.

³²Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.

³²Kamu akan habis dimakan api. Darahmu akan tertumpah di negerimu sendiri, dan tak ada seorang pun yang masih ingat kepadamu. Aku TUHAN telah berbicara.'"
