¹Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

¹さて、ペテロとヨハネとが、午後三時の祈のときに宮に上ろうとしていると、

²And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

²生れながら足のきかない男が、かかえられてきた。この男は、宮もうでに来る人々に施しをこうため、毎日、「美しの門」と呼ばれる宮の門のところに、置かれていた者である。

³Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

³彼は、ペテロとヨハネとが、宮にはいって行こうとしているのを見て、施しをこうた。

⁴And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

⁴ペテロとヨハネとは彼をじっと見て、「わたしたちを見なさい」と言った。

⁵And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

⁵彼は何かもらえるのだろうと期待して、ふたりに注目していると、

⁶Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

⁶ペテロが言った、「金銀はわたしには無い。しかし、わたしにあるものをあげよう。ナザレ人イエス・キリストの名によって歩きなさい」。

⁷And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

⁷こう言って彼の右手を取って起してやると、足と、くるぶしとが、立ちどころに強くなって、

⁸And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

⁸踊りあがって立ち、歩き出した。そして、歩き回ったり踊ったりして神をさんびしながら、彼らと共に宮にはいって行った。

⁹And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

⁹民衆はみな、彼が歩き回り、また神をさんびしているのを見、

¹⁰And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

¹⁰これが宮の「美しの門」のそばにすわって、施しをこうていた者であると知り、彼の身に起ったことについて、驚き怪しんだ。

¹¹And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

¹¹彼がなおもペテロとヨハネとにつきまとっているとき、人々は皆ひどく驚いて、「ソロモンの廊」と呼ばれる柱廊にいた彼らのところに駆け集まってきた。

¹²And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

¹²ペテロはこれを見て、人々にむかって言った、「イスラエルの人たちよ、なぜこの事を不思議に思うのか。また、わたしたちが自分の力や信心で、あの人を歩かせたかのように、なぜわたしたちを見つめているのか。

¹³The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

¹³アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブの神、わたしたちの先祖の神は、その僕イエスに栄光を賜わったのであるが、あなたがたは、このイエスを引き渡し、ピラトがゆるすことに決めていたのに、それを彼の面前で拒んだ。

¹⁴But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

¹⁴あなたがたは、この聖なる正しいかたを拒んで、人殺しの男をゆるすように要求し、

¹⁵And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹⁵いのちの君を殺してしまった。しかし、神はこのイエスを死人の中から、よみがえらせた。わたしたちは、その事の証人である。

¹⁶And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

¹⁶そして、イエスの名が、それを信じる信仰のゆえに、あなたがたのいま見て知っているこの人を、強くしたのであり、イエスによる信仰が、彼をあなたがた一同の前で、このとおり完全にいやしたのである。

¹⁷And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

¹⁷さて、兄弟たちよ、あなたがたは知らずにあのような事をしたのであり、あなたがたの指導者たちとても同様であったことは、わたしにわかっている。

¹⁸But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

¹⁸神はあらゆる預言者の口をとおして、キリストの受難を予告しておられたが、それをこのように成就なさったのである。

¹⁹Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

¹⁹だから、自分の罪をぬぐい去っていただくために、悔い改めて本心に立ちかえりなさい。

²⁰And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

²⁰それは、主のみ前から慰めの時がきて、あなたがたのためにあらかじめ定めてあったキリストなるイエスを、神がつかわして下さるためである。

²¹Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

²¹このイエスは、神が聖なる預言者たちの口をとおして、昔から預言しておられた万物更新の時まで、天にとどめておかれねばならなかった。

²²For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

²²モーセは言った、『主なる神は、わたしをお立てになったように、あなたがたの兄弟の中から、ひとりの預言者をお立てになるであろう。その預言者があなたがたに語ることには、ことごとく聞きしたがいなさい。

²³And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

²³彼に聞きしたがわない者は、みな民の中から滅ぼし去られるであろう』。

²⁴Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

²⁴サムエルをはじめ、その後つづいて語ったほどの預言者はみな、この時のことを予告した。

²⁵Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

²⁵あなたがたは預言者の子であり、神があなたがたの先祖たちと結ばれた契約の子である。神はアブラハムに対して、『地上の諸民族は、あなたの子孫によって祝福を受けるであろう』と仰せられた。神がまずあなたがたのために、その僕を立てて、おつかわしになったのは、あなたがたひとりびとりを、悪から立ちかえらせて、祝福にあずからせるためなのである」。

²⁶Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

²⁶神がまずあなたがたのために、その僕を立てて、おつかわしになったのは、あなたがたひとりびとりを、悪から立ちかえらせて、祝福にあずからせるためなのである」。
