¹And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.

¹また、モーセに言われた、「あなたはアロン、ナダブ、アビウおよびイスラエルの七十人の長老たちと共に、主のもとにのぼってきなさい。そしてあなたがたは遠く離れて礼拝しなさい。

²And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

²ただモーセひとりが主に近づき、他の者は近づいてはならない。また、民も彼と共にのぼってはならない」。

³And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.

³モーセはきて、主のすべての言葉と、すべてのおきてとを民に告げた。民はみな同音に答えて言った、「わたしたちは主の仰せられた言葉を皆、行います」。

⁴And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

⁴そしてモーセは主の言葉を、ことごとく書きしるし、朝はやく起きて山のふもとに祭壇を築き、イスラエルの十二部族に従って十二の柱を建て、

⁵And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.

⁵イスラエルの人々のうちの若者たちをつかわして、主に燔祭をささげさせ、また酬恩祭として雄牛をささげさせた。

⁶And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

⁶その時モーセはその血の半ばを取って、鉢に入れ、また、その血の半ばを祭壇に注ぎかけた。

⁷And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

⁷そして契約の書を取って、これを民に読み聞かせた。すると、彼らは答えて言った、「わたしたちは主が仰せられたことを皆、従順に行います」。

⁸And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.

⁸そこでモーセはその血を取って、民に注ぎかけ、そして言った、「見よ、これは主がこれらのすべての言葉に基いて、あなたがたと結ばれる契約の血である」。

⁹Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:

⁹こうしてモーセはアロン、ナダブ、アビウおよびイスラエルの七十人の長老たちと共にのぼって行った。

¹⁰And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

¹⁰そして、彼らがイスラエルの神を見ると、その足の下にはサファイアの敷石のごとき物があり、澄み渡るおおぞらのようであった。

¹¹And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

¹¹神はイスラエルの人々の指導者たちを手にかけられなかったので、彼らは神を見て、飲み食いした。

¹²And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

¹²ときに主はモーセに言われた、「山に登り、わたしの所にきて、そこにいなさい。彼らを教えるために、わたしが律法と戒めとを書きしるした石の板をあなたに授けるであろう」。

¹³And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.

¹³そこでモーセは従者ヨシュアと共に立ちあがり、モーセは神の山に登った。

¹⁴And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.

¹⁴彼は長老たちに言った、「わたしたちがあなたがたの所に帰って来るまで、ここで待っていなさい。見よ、アロンとホルとが、あなたがたと共にいるから、事ある者は、だれでも彼らの所へ行きなさい」。

¹⁵And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.

¹⁵こうしてモーセは山に登ったが、雲は山をおおっていた。

¹⁶And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

¹⁶主の栄光がシナイ山の上にとどまり、雲は六日のあいだ、山をおおっていたが、七日目に主は雲の中からモーセを呼ばれた。

¹⁷And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

¹⁷主の栄光は山の頂で、燃える火のようにイスラエルの人々の目に見えたが、モーセは雲の中にはいって、山に登った。そしてモーセは四十日四十夜、山にいた。

¹⁸And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

¹⁸モーセは雲の中にはいって、山に登った。そしてモーセは四十日四十夜、山にいた。
