¹Let brotherly love continue.

¹兄弟愛を続けなさい。

²Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

²旅人をもてなすことを忘れてはならない。このようにして、ある人々は、気づかないで御使たちをもてなした。

³Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

³獄につながれている人たちを、自分も一緒につながれている心持で思いやりなさい。また、自分も同じ肉体にある者だから、苦しめられている人たちのことを、心にとめなさい。

⁴Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

⁴すべての人は、結婚を重んずべきである。また寝床を汚してはならない。神は、不品行な者や姦淫をする者をさばかれる。

⁵Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

⁵金銭を愛することをしないで、自分の持っているもので満足しなさい。主は、「わたしは、決してあなたを離れず、あなたを捨てない」と言われた。

⁶So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

⁶だから、わたしたちは、はばからずに言おう、「主はわたしの助け主である。わたしには恐れはない。人は、わたしに何ができようか」。

⁷Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

⁷神の言をあなたがたに語った指導者たちのことを、いつも思い起しなさい。彼らの生活の最後を見て、その信仰にならいなさい。

⁸Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

⁸イエス・キリストは、きのうも、きょうも、いつまでも変ることがない。

⁹Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

⁹さまざまな違った教によって、迷わされてはならない。食物によらず、恵みによって、心を強くするがよい。食物によって歩いた者は、益を得ることがなかった。

¹⁰We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

¹⁰わたしたちには一つの祭壇がある。幕屋で仕えている者たちは、その祭壇の食物をたべる権利はない。

¹¹For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

¹¹なぜなら、大祭司によって罪のためにささげられるけものの血は、聖所のなかに携えて行かれるが、そのからだは、営所の外で焼かれてしまうからである。

¹²Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

¹²だから、イエスもまた、ご自分の血で民をきよめるために、門の外で苦難を受けられたのである。

¹³Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

¹³したがって、わたしたちも、彼のはずかしめを身に負い、営所の外に出て、みもとに行こうではないか。

¹⁴For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

¹⁴この地上には、永遠の都はない。きたらんとする都こそ、わたしたちの求めているものである。

¹⁵By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

¹⁵だから、わたしたちはイエスによって、さんびのいけにえ、すなわち、彼の御名をたたえるくちびるの実を、たえず神にささげようではないか。

¹⁶But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

¹⁶そして、善を行うことと施しをすることとを、忘れてはいけない。神は、このようないけにえを喜ばれる。

¹⁷Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

¹⁷あなたがたの指導者たちの言うことを聞きいれて、従いなさい。彼らは、神に言いひらきをすべき者として、あなたがたのたましいのために、目をさましている。彼らが嘆かないで、喜んでこのことをするようにしなさい。そうでないと、あなたがたの益にならない。

¹⁸Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

¹⁸わたしたちのために、祈ってほしい。わたしたちは明らかな良心を持っていると信じており、何事についても、正しく行動しようと願っている。

¹⁹But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

¹⁹わたしがあなたがたの所に早く帰れるため、祈ってくれるように、特にお願いする。

²⁰Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

²⁰永遠の契約の血による羊の大牧者、わたしたちの主イエスを、死人の中から引き上げられた平和の神が、

²¹Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

²¹イエス・キリストによって、みこころにかなうことをわたしたちにして下さり、あなたがたが御旨を行うために、すべての良きものを備えて下さるようにこい願う。栄光が、世々限りなく神にあるように、アァメン。

²²And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

²²兄弟たちよ。どうかわたしの勧めの言葉を受けいれてほしい。わたしは、ただ手みじかに書いたのだから。

²³Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

²³わたしたちの兄弟テモテがゆるされたことを、お知らせする。もし彼が早く来れば、彼と一緒にわたしはあなたがたに会えるだろう。

²⁴Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

²⁴あなたがたの指導者一同と聖徒たち一同に、よろしく伝えてほしい。イタリヤからきた人々から、あなたがたによろしく。恵みが、あなたがた一同にあるように。

²⁵Grace be with you all. Amen.
