¹The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

¹ツロについての託宣。タルシシのもろもろの船よ、泣き叫べ、ツロは荒れすたれて、家なく、船泊まりする港もないからだ。この事はクプロの地から彼らに告げ知らせられる。

²Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.

²海べに住む民よ、シドンの商人よ、もだせ、あなたがたの使者は海を渡り、大いなる水の上にあった。

³And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

³ツロの収入はシホルの穀物、ナイル川の収穫であった。ツロはもろもろの国びとの商人であった。

⁴Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.

⁴シドンよ、恥じよ、海は言った、海の城は言う、「わたしは苦しまず、また産まなかった。わたしは若い男子を養わず、また処女を育てなかった」。

⁵As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.

⁵この報道がエジプトに達するとき、彼らはツロについての報道によって、いたく苦しむ。

⁶Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.

⁶タルシシに渡れ、海べに住む民よ、泣き叫べ。

⁷Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn.

⁷これがその起源も古い町、自分の足で移り、遠くにまで移住した町、あなたがたの喜び誇る町なのか。

⁸Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?

⁸ツロにむかってこれを定めたのはだれか。ツロは冠を授けた町、その商人は君たち、その貿易業者は地の尊い人々であった。

⁹The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.

⁹万軍の主はすべての栄光の誇を汚し、地のすべての尊い者をはずかしめるためにこれを定められたのだ。

¹⁰Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength.

¹⁰タルシシの娘よ、ナイル川のようにおのが地にあふれよ。もはや束縛するものはない。

¹¹He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.

¹¹主はその手を海の上に伸べて国々を震い動かされた。主はカナンについて詔を出し、そのとりでをこわされた。

¹²And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.

¹²主は言われた、「しえたげられた処女シドンの娘よ、あなたはもはや喜ぶことはない。立って、クプロに渡れ、そこでもあなたは安息を得ることはない」。

¹³Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.

¹³カルデヤびとの国を見よ、アッスリヤではなく、この民がツロを野の獣のすみかに定めた。彼らはやぐらを建て、もろもろの宮殿をこわして荒塚とした。

¹⁴Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.

¹⁴タルシシのもろもろの船よ、泣き叫べ、あなたがたのとりでは荒れすたれたから。

¹⁵And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.

¹⁵その日、ツロはひとりの王のながらえる日と同じく七十年の間忘れられ、七十年終って後、ツロは遊女の歌のようになる、

¹⁶Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

¹⁶「忘れられた遊女よ、琴を執って町を経めぐり、巧みに弾じ、多くの歌をうたって、人に思い出されよ」。

¹⁷And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

¹⁷七十年終って後、主はツロを顧みられる。ツロは再び淫行の価を得て、地のおもてにある世のすべての国々と姦淫を行い、その商品とその価とは主にささげられる。これはたくわえられることなく、積まれることなく、その商品は主の前に住む者のために豊かな食物となり、みごとな衣服となる。

¹⁸And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

¹⁸その商品とその価とは主にささげられる。これはたくわえられることなく、積まれることなく、その商品は主の前に住む者のために豊かな食物となり、みごとな衣服となる。
