¹But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

¹ヤコブよ、あなたを創造された主はこう言われる。イスラエルよ、あなたを造られた主はいまこう言われる、「恐れるな、わたしはあなたをあがなった。わたしはあなたの名を呼んだ、あなたはわたしのものだ。

²When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

²あなたが水の中を過ぎるとき、わたしはあなたと共におる。川の中を過ぎるとき、水はあなたの上にあふれることがない。あなたが火の中を行くとき、焼かれることもなく、炎もあなたに燃えつくことがない。

³For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

³わたしはあなたの神、主である、イスラエルの聖者、あなたの救主である。わたしはエジプトを与えてあなたのあがないしろとし、エチオピヤとセバとをあなたの代りとする。

⁴Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

⁴あなたはわが目に尊く、重んぜられるもの、わたしはあなたを愛するがゆえに、あなたの代りに人を与え、あなたの命の代りに民を与える。

⁵Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

⁵恐れるな、わたしはあなたと共におる。わたしは、あなたの子孫を東からこさせ、西からあなたを集める。

⁶I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

⁶わたしは北にむかって『ゆるせ』と言い、南にむかって『留めるな』と言う。わが子らを遠くからこさせ、わが娘らを地の果からこさせよ。

⁷Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

⁷すべてわが名をもってとなえられる者をこさせよ。わたしは彼らをわが栄光のために創造し、これを造り、これを仕立てた」。

⁸Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

⁸目があっても目しいのような民、耳があっても耳しいのような民を連れ出せ。

⁹Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

⁹国々はみな相つどい、もろもろの民は集まれ。彼らのうち、だれがこの事を告げ、さきの事どもを、われわれに聞かせることができるか。その証人を出して、おのれの正しい事を証明させ、それを聞いて「これは真実だ」と言わせよ。

¹⁰Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

¹⁰主は言われる、「あなたがたはわが証人、わたしが選んだわがしもべである。それゆえ、あなたがたは知って、わたしを信じ、わたしが主であることを悟ることができる。わたしより前に造られた神はなく、わたしより後にもない。

¹¹I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

¹¹ただわたしのみ主である。わたしのほかに救う者はいない。

¹²I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

¹²わたしはさきに告げ、かつ救い、かつ聞かせた。あなたがたのうちには、ほかの神はなかった。あなたがたはわが証人である」と主は言われる。

¹³Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

¹³「わたしは神である、今より後もわたしは主である。わが手から救い出しうる者はない。わたしがおこなえば、だれが、これをとどめることができよう」。

¹⁴Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

¹⁴あなたがたをあがなう者、イスラエルの聖者、主はこう言われる、「あなたがたのために、わたしは人をバビロンにつかわし、すべての貫の木をこわし、カルデヤびとの喜びの声を嘆きに変らせる。

¹⁵I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

¹⁵わたしは主、あなたがたの聖者、イスラエルの創造者、あなたがたの王である」。

¹⁶Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

¹⁶海のなかに大路を設け、大いなる水の中に道をつくり、

¹⁷Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

¹⁷戦車および馬、軍勢および兵士を出てこさせ、これを倒して起きることができないようにし、絶え滅ぼして、灯心の消えうせるようにされる主はこう言われる、

¹⁸Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

¹⁸「あなたがたは、さきの事を思い出してはならない、また、いにしえのことを考えてはならない。

¹⁹Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

¹⁹見よ、わたしは新しい事をなす。やがてそれは起る、あなたがたはそれを知らないのか。わたしは荒野に道を設け、さばくに川を流れさせる。

²⁰The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

²⁰野の獣はわたしをあがめ、山犬および、だちょうもわたしをあがめる。わたしが荒野に水をいだし、さばくに川を流れさせて、わたしの選んだ民に飲ませるからだ。

²¹This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

²¹この民は、わが誉を述べさせるためにわたしが自分のために造ったものである。

²²But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

²²ところがヤコブよ、あなたはわたしを呼ばなかった。イスラエルよ、あなたはわたしをうとんじた。

²³Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.

²³あなたは燔祭の羊をわたしに持ってこなかった。また犠牲をもってわたしをあがめなかった。わたしは供え物の重荷をあなたに負わせなかった。また乳香をもってあなたを煩わさなかった。

²⁴Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

²⁴あなたは金を出して、わたしのために菖蒲を買わず、犠牲の脂肪を供えて、わたしを飽かせず、かえって、あなたの罪の重荷をわたしに負わせ、あなたの不義をもって、わたしを煩わせた。

²⁵I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

²⁵わたしこそ、わたし自身のためにあなたのとがを消す者である。わたしは、あなたの罪を心にとめない。

²⁶Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

²⁶あなたは、自分の正しいことを証明するために自分のことを述べて、わたしに思い出させよ。われわれは共に論じよう。

²⁷Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.

²⁷あなたの遠い先祖は罪を犯し、あなたの仲保者らはわたしにそむいた。それゆえ、わたしは聖所の君たちを汚し、ヤコブを全き滅びにわたし、イスラエルをののしらしめた。

²⁸Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
