¹Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast.

¹ベルは伏し、ネボはかがみ、彼らの像は獣と家畜との上にある。あなたがたが持ち歩いたものは荷となり、疲れた獣の重荷となった。

²They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.

²彼らはかがみ、彼らは共に伏し、重荷となった者を救うことができずかえって、自分は捕われて行く。

³Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:

³「ヤコブの家よ、イスラエルの家の残ったすべての者よ、生れ出た時から、わたしに負われ、胎を出た時から、わたしに持ち運ばれた者よ、わたしに聞け。

⁴And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

⁴わたしはあなたがたの年老いるまで変らず、白髪となるまで、あなたがたを持ち運ぶ。わたしは造ったゆえ、必ず負い、持ち運び、かつ救う。

⁵To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?

⁵あなたがたは、わたしをだれにたぐい、だれと等しくし、だれにくらべ、かつなぞらえようとするのか。

⁶They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.

⁶彼らは袋からこがねを注ぎ出し、はかりをもって、しろがねをはかり、金細工人を雇って、それを神に造らせ、これにひれ伏して拝む。

⁷They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.

⁷彼らはこれをもたげて肩に載せ、持って行って、その所に置き、そこに立たせる。これはその所から動くことができない。人がこれに呼ばわっても答えることができない。また彼をその悩みから救うことができない。

⁸Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.

⁸あなたがたはこの事をおぼえ、よく考えよ。そむける者よ、この事を心にとめよ、

⁹Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

⁹いにしえよりこのかたの事をおぼえよ。わたしは神である、わたしのほかに神はない。わたしは神である、わたしと等しい者はない。

¹⁰Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

¹⁰わたしは終りの事を初めから告げ、まだなされない事を昔から告げて言う、『わたしの計りごとは必ず成り、わが目的をことごとくなし遂げる』と。

¹¹Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

¹¹わたしは東から猛禽を招き、遠い国からわが計りごとを行う人を招く。わたしはこの事を語ったゆえ、必ずこさせる。わたしはこの事をはかったゆえ、必ず行う。

¹²Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:

¹²心をかたくなにして、救に遠い者よ、わたしに聞け。わたしはわが救を近づかせるゆえ、その来ることは遠くない。わが救はおそくない。わたしは救をシオンに与え、わが栄光をイスラエルに与える」。

¹³I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

¹³わたしはわが救を近づかせるゆえ、その来ることは遠くない。わが救はおそくない。わたしは救をシオンに与え、わが栄光をイスラエルに与える」。
