¹In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

¹ウジヤ王の死んだ年、わたしは主が高くあげられたみくらに座し、その衣のすそが神殿に満ちているのを見た。

²Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

²その上にセラピムが立ち、おのおの六つの翼をもっていた。その二つをもって顔をおおい、二つをもって足をおおい、二つをもって飛びかけり、

³And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

³互に呼びかわして言った。「聖なるかな、聖なるかな、聖なるかな、万軍の主、その栄光は全地に満つ」。

⁴And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

⁴その呼ばわっている者の声によって敷居の基が震い動き、神殿の中に煙が満ちた。

⁵Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

⁵その時わたしは言った、「わざわいなるかな、わたしは滅びるばかりだ。わたしは汚れたくちびるの者で、汚れたくちびるの民の中に住む者であるのに、わたしの目が万軍の主なる王を見たのだから」。

⁶Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

⁶この時セラピムのひとりが火ばしをもって、祭壇の上から取った燃えている炭を手に携え、わたしのところに飛んできて、

⁷And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

⁷わたしの口に触れて言った、「見よ、これがあなたのくちびるに触れたので、あなたの悪は除かれ、あなたの罪はゆるされた」。

⁸Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

⁸わたしはまた主の言われる声を聞いた、「わたしはだれをつかわそうか。だれがわれわれのために行くだろうか」。その時わたしは言った、「ここにわたしがおります。わたしをおつかわしください」。

⁹And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

⁹主は言われた、「あなたは行って、この民にこう言いなさい、『あなたがたはくりかえし聞くがよい、しかし悟ってはならない。あなたがたはくりかえし見るがよい、しかしわかってはならない』と。

¹⁰Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

¹⁰あなたはこの民の心を鈍くし、その耳を聞えにくくし、その目を閉ざしなさい。これは彼らがその目で見、その耳で聞き、その心で悟り、悔い改めていやされることのないためである」。

¹¹Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

¹¹そこで、わたしは言った、「主よ、いつまでですか」。主は言われた、「町々は荒れすたれて、住む者もなく、家には人かげもなく、国は全く荒れ地となり、

¹²And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

¹²人々は主によって遠くへ移され、荒れはてた所が国の中に多くなる時まで、こうなっている。その中に十分の一の残る者があっても、これもまた焼き滅ぼされる。テレビンの木またはかしの木が切り倒されるとき、その切り株が残るように」。聖なる種族はその切り株である。

¹³But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

¹³その中に十分の一の残る者があっても、これもまた焼き滅ぼされる。テレビンの木またはかしの木が切り倒されるとき、その切り株が残るように」。聖なる種族はその切り株である。
