¹And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

²Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

²「イスラエルの人々の全会衆に言いなさい、『あなたがたの神、主なるわたしは、聖であるから、あなたがたも聖でなければならない。

³Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

³あなたがたは、おのおのその母とその父とをおそれなければならない。またわたしの安息日を守らなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

⁴Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

⁴むなしい神々に心を寄せてはならない。また自分のために神々を鋳て造ってはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

⁵And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.

⁵酬恩祭の犠牲を主にささげるときは、あなたがたが受け入れられるように、それをささげなければならない。

⁶It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.

⁶それは、ささげた日と、その翌日とに食べ、三日目まで残ったものは、それを火で焼かなければならない。

⁷And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.

⁷もし三日目に、少しでも食べるならば、それは忌むべきものとなって、あなたは受け入れられないであろう。

⁸Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

⁸それを食べる者は、主の聖なる物を汚すので、そのとがを負わなければならない。その人は民のうちから断たれるであろう。

⁹And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.

⁹あなたがたの地の実のりを刈り入れるときは、畑のすみずみまで刈りつくしてはならない。またあなたの刈入れの落ち穂を拾ってはならない。

¹⁰And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.

¹⁰あなたのぶどう畑の実を取りつくしてはならない。またあなたのぶどう畑に落ちた実を拾ってはならない。貧しい者と寄留者とのために、これを残しておかなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

¹¹Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

¹¹あなたがたは盗んではならない。欺いてはならない。互に偽ってはならない。

¹²And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

¹²わたしの名により偽り誓って、あなたがたの神の名を汚してはならない。わたしは主である。

¹³Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

¹³あなたの隣人をしえたげてはならない。また、かすめてはならない。日雇人の賃銀を明くる朝まで、あなたのもとにとどめておいてはならない。

¹⁴Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling-block before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.

¹⁴耳しいを、のろってはならない。目しいの前につまずく物を置いてはならない。あなたの神を恐れなければならない。わたしは主である。

¹⁵Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.

¹⁵さばきをするとき、不正を行ってはならない。貧しい者を片よってかばい、力ある者を曲げて助けてはならない。ただ正義をもって隣人をさばかなければならない。

¹⁶Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor; I am the LORD.

¹⁶民のうちを行き巡って、人の悪口を言いふらしてはならない。あなたの隣人の血にかかわる偽証をしてはならない。わたしは主である。

¹⁷Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him.

¹⁷あなたは心に兄弟を憎んではならない。あなたの隣人をねんごろにいさめて、彼のゆえに罪を身に負ってはならない。

¹⁸Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD.

¹⁸あなたはあだを返してはならない。あなたの民の人々に恨みをいだいてはならない。あなた自身のようにあなたの隣人を愛さなければならない。わたしは主である。

¹⁹Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee.

¹⁹あなたがたはわたしの定めを守らなければならない。あなたの家畜に異なった種をかけてはならない。あなたの畑に二種の種をまいてはならない。二種の糸の混ぜ織りの衣服を身につけてはならない。

²⁰And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

²⁰だれでも、人と婚約のある女奴隷で、まだあがなわれず、自由を与えられていない者と寝て交わったならば、彼らふたりは罰を受ける。しかし、殺されることはない。彼女は自由の女ではないからである。

²¹And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.

²¹しかし、その男は愆祭を主に携えてこなければならない。すなわち、愆祭の雄羊を、会見の幕屋の入口に連れてこなければならない。

²²And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

²²そして、祭司は彼の犯した罪のためにその愆祭の雄羊をもって、主の前に彼のために、あがないをするであろう。こうして彼の犯した罪はゆるされるであろう。

²³And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.

²³あなたがたが、かの地にはいって、もろもろのくだものの木を植えるときは、その実はまだ割礼をうけないものと、見なさなければならない。すなわち、それは三年の間あなたがたには、割礼のないものであって、食べてはならない。

²⁴But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.

²⁴四年目には、そのすべての実を聖なる物とし、それをさんびの供え物として主にささげなければならない。

²⁵And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.

²⁵しかし五年目には、あなたがたはその実を食べることができるであろう。こうするならば、それはあなたがたのために、多くの実を結ぶであろう。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

²⁶Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.

²⁶あなたがたは何をも血のままで食べてはならない。また占いをしてはならない。魔法を行ってはならない。

²⁷Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

²⁷あなたがたのびんの毛を切ってはならない。ひげの両端をそこなってはならない。

²⁸Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

²⁸死人のために身を傷つけてはならない。また身に入墨をしてはならない。わたしは主である。

²⁹Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

²⁹あなたの娘に遊女のわざをさせて、これを汚してはならない。これはみだらな事が国に行われ、悪事が地に満ちないためである。

³⁰Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

³⁰あなたがたはわたしの安息日を守り、わたしの聖所を敬わなければならない。わたしは主である。

³¹Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

³¹あなたがたは口寄せ、または占い師のもとにおもむいてはならない。彼らに問うて汚されてはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

³²Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.

³²あなたは白髪の人の前では、起立しなければならない。また老人を敬い、あなたの神を恐れなければならない。わたしは主である。

³³And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.

³³もし他国人があなたがたの国に寄留して共にいるならば、これをしえたげてはならない。

³⁴But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

³⁴あなたがたと共にいる寄留の他国人を、あなたがたと同じ国に生れた者のようにし、あなた自身のようにこれを愛さなければならない。あなたがたもかつてエジプトの国で他国人であったからである。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

³⁵Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.

³⁵あなたがたは、さばきにおいても、物差しにおいても、はかりにおいても、ますにおいても、不正を行ってはならない。

³⁶Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.

³⁶あなたがたは正しいてんびん、正しいおもり石、正しいエパ、正しいヒンを使わなければならない。わたしは、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き出したあなたがたの神、主である。あなたがたはわたしのすべての定めと、わたしのすべてのおきてを守って、これを行わなければならない。わたしは主である』」。

³⁷Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.

³⁷あなたがたはわたしのすべての定めと、わたしのすべてのおきてを守って、これを行わなければならない。わたしは主である』」。
