¹Judge not, that ye be not judged.

¹人をさばくな。自分がさばかれないためである。

²For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

²あなたがたがさばくそのさばきで、自分もさばかれ、あなたがたの量るそのはかりで、自分にも量り与えられるであろう。

³And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

³なぜ、兄弟の目にあるちりを見ながら、自分の目にある梁を認めないのか。

⁴Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

⁴自分の目には梁があるのに、どうして兄弟にむかって、あなたの目からちりを取らせてください、と言えようか。

⁵Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

⁵偽善者よ、まず自分の目から梁を取りのけるがよい。そうすれば、はっきり見えるようになって、兄弟の目からちりを取りのけることができるだろう。

⁶Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

⁶聖なるものを犬にやるな。また真珠を豚に投げてやるな。恐らく彼らはそれらを足で踏みつけ、向きなおってあなたがたにかみついてくるであろう。

⁷Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

⁷求めよ、そうすれば、与えられるであろう。捜せ、そうすれば、見いだすであろう。門をたたけ、そうすれば、あけてもらえるであろう。

⁸For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

⁸すべて求める者は得、捜す者は見いだし、門をたたく者はあけてもらえるからである。

⁹Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

⁹あなたがたのうちで、自分の子がパンを求めるのに、石を与える者があろうか。

¹⁰Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

¹⁰魚を求めるのに、へびを与える者があろうか。

¹¹If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

¹¹このように、あなたがたは悪い者であっても、自分の子供には、良い贈り物をすることを知っているとすれば、天にいますあなたがたの父はなおさら、求めてくる者に良いものを下さらないことがあろうか。

¹²Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

¹²だから、何事でも人々からしてほしいと望むことは、人々にもそのとおりにせよ。これが律法であり預言者である。

¹³Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

¹³狭い門からはいれ。滅びにいたる門は大きく、その道は広い。そして、そこからはいって行く者が多い。

¹⁴Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

¹⁴命にいたる門は狭く、その道は細い。そして、それを見いだす者が少ない。

¹⁵Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

¹⁵にせ預言者を警戒せよ。彼らは、羊の衣を着てあなたがたのところに来るが、その内側は強欲なおおかみである。

¹⁶Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

¹⁶あなたがたは、その実によって彼らを見わけるであろう。茨からぶどうを、あざみからいちじくを集める者があろうか。

¹⁷Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

¹⁷そのように、すべて良い木は良い実を結び、悪い木は悪い実を結ぶ。

¹⁸A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

¹⁸良い木が悪い実をならせることはないし、悪い木が良い実をならせることはできない。

¹⁹Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

¹⁹良い実を結ばない木はことごとく切られて、火の中に投げ込まれる。

²⁰Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

²⁰このように、あなたがたはその実によって彼らを見わけるのである。

²¹Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

²¹わたしにむかって『主よ、主よ』と言う者が、みな天国にはいるのではなく、ただ、天にいますわが父の御旨を行う者だけが、はいるのである。

²²Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

²²その日には、多くの者が、わたしにむかって『主よ、主よ、わたしたちはあなたの名によって預言したではありませんか。また、あなたの名によって悪霊を追い出し、あなたの名によって多くの力あるわざを行ったではありませんか』と言うであろう。

²³And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

²³そのとき、わたしは彼らにはっきり、こう言おう、『あなたがたを全く知らない。不法を働く者どもよ、行ってしまえ』。

²⁴Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

²⁴それで、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いて行うものを、岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人に比べることができよう。

²⁵And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

²⁵雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけても、倒れることはない。岩を土台としているからである。

²⁶And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

²⁶また、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いても行わない者を、砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人に比べることができよう。

²⁷And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

²⁷雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけると、倒れてしまう。そしてその倒れ方はひどいのである」。

²⁸And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

²⁸イエスがこれらの言を語り終えられると、群衆はその教にひどく驚いた。それは律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように、教えられたからである。

²⁹For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

²⁹それは律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように、教えられたからである。
