¹Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.

¹わが神よ、どうかわたしをわが敵から助け出し、わたしに逆らって起りたつ者からお守りください。

²Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

²悪を行う者からわたしを助け出し、血を流す人からわたしをお救いください。

³For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.

³見よ、彼らはひそみかくれて、わたしの命をうかがい、力ある人々が共に集まってわたしを攻めます。主よ、わたしにとがも罪もなく、

⁴They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.

⁴わたしにあやまちもないのに、彼らは走りまわって備えをします。わたしを助けるために目をさまして、ごらんください。

⁵Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

⁵万軍の神、主よ、あなたはイスラエルの神です。目をさまして、もろもろの国民を罰し、悪をたくらむ者どもに、あわれみを施さないでください。〔セラ

⁶They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

⁶彼らは夕ごとに帰ってきて、犬のようにほえて町をあさりまわる。

⁷Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?

⁷見よ、彼らはその口をもってほえ叫び、そのくちびるをもってうなり、「だれが聞くものか」と言う。

⁸But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

⁸しかし、主よ、あなたは彼らを笑い、もろもろの国民をあざけり笑われる。

⁹Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.

⁹わが力よ、わたしはあなたにむかってほめ歌います。神よ、あなたはわたしの高きやぐらです。

¹⁰The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

¹⁰わが神はそのいつくしみをもってわたしを迎えられる。わが神はわたしに敵の敗北を見させられる。

¹¹Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

¹¹どうぞ、わが民の忘れることのないために、彼らを殺さないでください。主、われらの盾よ、み力をもって彼らをよろめかせ、彼らを倒れさせないでください。

¹²For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.

¹³Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁴And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

¹⁵Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.

¹⁵彼らは食い物のためにあるきまわり、飽くことを得なければ怒りうなる。

¹⁶But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

¹⁶しかし、わたしはあなたのみ力をうたい、朝には声をあげてみいつくしみを歌います。あなたはわたしの悩みの日にわが高きやぐらとなり、わたしの避け所となられたからです。わが力よ、わたしはあなたにむかってほめうたいます。神よ、あなたはわが高きやぐら、わたしにいつくしみを賜わる神であられるからです。
