¹Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

¹レバノンよ、おまえの門を開き、おまえの香柏を火に焼き滅ぼさせよ。

²Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

²いとすぎよ、泣き叫べ。香柏は倒れ、みごとな木は、そこなわれたからである。バシャンのかしよ、泣き叫べ。茂った林は倒れたからである。

³There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

³聞け、牧者の泣き叫ぶ声を。彼らの栄えが消え去ったからである。聞け、ししのほえる声を。ヨルダンの草むらが荒れ果てたからである。

⁴Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

⁴わが神、主はこう仰せられた、「ほふらるべき羊の群れの牧者となれ。

⁵Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

⁵これを買う者は、これをほふっても罰せられない。これを売る者は言う、『主はほむべきかな、わたしは富んだ』と。そしてその牧者は、これをあわれまない。

⁶For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.

⁶わたしは、もはやこの地の住民をあわれまないと、主は言われる。見よ、わたしは人をおのおのその牧者の手に渡し、おのおのその王の手に渡す。彼らは地を荒す。わたしは彼らの手からこれを救い出さない」。

⁷And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

⁷わたしは羊の商人のために、ほふらるべき羊の群れの牧者となった。わたしは二本のつえを取り、その一本を恵みと名づけ、一本を結びと名づけて、その羊を牧した。

⁸Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

⁸わたしは一か月に牧者三人を滅ぼした。わたしは彼らに、がまんしきれなくなったが、彼らもまた、わたしを忌みきらった。

⁹Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

⁹それでわたしは言った、「わたしはあなたがたの牧者とならない。死ぬ者は死に、滅びる者は滅び、残った者はたがいにその肉を食いあうがよい」。

¹⁰And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

¹⁰わたしは恵みというつえを取って、これを折った。これはわたしがもろもろの民と結んだ契約を、廃するためであった。

¹¹And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

¹¹そしてこれは、その日に廃された。そこで、わたしに目を注いでいた羊の商人らは、これが主の言葉であったことを知った。

¹²And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

¹²わたしは彼らに向かって、「あなたがたがもし、よいと思うならば、わたしに賃銀を払いなさい。もし、いけなければやめなさい」と言ったので、彼らはわたしの賃銀として、銀三十シケルを量った。

¹³And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

¹³主はわたしに言われた、「彼らによって、わたしが値積られたその尊い価を、宮のさいせん箱に投げ入れよ」。わたしは銀三十シケルを取って、これを主の宮のさいせん箱に投げ入れた。

¹⁴Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

¹⁴そしてわたしは結びという第二のつえを折った。これはユダとイスラエルの間の、兄弟関係を廃するためであった。

¹⁵And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

¹⁵主はわたしに言われた、「おまえはまた愚かな牧者の器を取れ。

¹⁶For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

¹⁶見よ、わたしは地にひとりの牧者を起す。彼は滅ぼされる者を顧みず、迷える者を尋ねず、傷ついた者をいやさず、健やかな者を養わず、肥えた者の肉を食らい、そのひずめをさえ裂く者である。その羊の群れを捨てる愚かな牧者はわざわいだ。どうか、つるぎがその腕を撃ち、その右の目を撃つように。その腕は全く衰え、その右の目は全く見えなくなるように」。

¹⁷Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

¹⁷その羊の群れを捨てる愚かな牧者はわざわいだ。どうか、つるぎがその腕を撃ち、その右の目を撃つように。その腕は全く衰え、その右の目は全く見えなくなるように」。
