3

1Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
1Lâex laj Israel, cherabihak li naxye li Kâcuaß chêrix chêjunilex lâex li quexrisi chak saß li tenamit Egipto nak quixye chi joßcaßin:
2You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

3Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
3¿Ma târûk ta biß teßcuânk chi sum âtin cuibak cui incßaß junajak ru lix cßaßuxeb?
4Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
4¿Ma tixjap ta biß re li cakcoj saß qßuicheß cui incßaß tixchap xtib? ¿Ma hôn ta biß nacßut xjoskßil li chßina cakcoj nak toj mâjiß naxtau lix tib?
5Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
5¿Ma naru ta biß tâchapekß li xul li narupupic, cui incßaß teßxqßue li raßal re teßxchap? Ut, ¿ma tâecßânk ta biß li raßal cui mâcßaß tixchap?
6Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
6Cui tâecßânk li trompeta saß tenamit, ¿ma incßaß ta biß teßxucuak li tenamit chirabinquil? Ut, ¿ma tâchâlk ta biß li raylal saß xbên junak li tenamit cui li Dios incßaß tixcanabeb re teßxcßul?
7Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
7Li Kâcuaß incßaß tixqßue chak li raylal saß xbêneb li tenamit chi incßaß ta tixye xbên cua reheb lix profeta re nak teßxye resil.
8The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
8¿Ani ta biß incßaß tâxucuak nak tixjap re li cakcoj? Cui nequeßxucuac xban li cakcoj nak naxjap re, ¿ma tojaß ta chic incßaß teßxucuak chiru li Dios? Cui junak tââtinâk xban li Kâcuaß, ¿ma incßaß ta biß tixye resil li cßaßru quicßutbesîc chiru?
9Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
9Joßcaßin têye reheb li cuanqueb saß eb li palacio aran Asdod ut reheb ajcuiß li cuanqueb saß eb li palacio aran Egipto: —Chßutubomak êrib saß eb li tzûl aran Samaria. Ilomak li rahobtesînc ut li mâusilal li yôqueb chixbânunquil aran.

11Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
11Joßcan nak li Kâcuaß quixye chi joßcaßin: —Eb li xicß nequeßiloc êre lâex aj Israel teßchâlk ut teßxsut lê tenamit. Teßxjucß li cab xeyîb re xcolbal êrib ut teßrelkßa li cßaßru êre cuan saß lê palacio, chan.
12Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
12Ut quixye ajcuiß li Kâcuaß: —Nak junak laj ilol xul tixyal xmakßbal lix carner saß re li cakcoj, mâre caßaj cuiß li rok cuib tixcol malaj ut jun pedasak xxic. Joßcan ajcuiß têcßul lâex aj Israel. 14That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
14Nak tâcuulak xkßehil lâin tebinqßue laj Israel chixtojbal rix lix mâqueb. Ut tinsacheb ajcuiß lix artal aran Bet-el. 15And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
