1So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
1Ut quinqßue ajcuiß retal chixjunil li ra xîcß li nequeßxbânu saß ruchichßochß. Eb li rahobtesinbileb yôqueb chi yâbac xban li raylal nequeßxcßul. Ut mâ ani nacßojoban xchßôleb. Eb li nequeßrahobtesin reheb cuanqueb xcuanquil saß xbêneb. Ut mâ ani natenkßan reheb li yôqueb chi cßuluc raylal.
2Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.
2Joßcan nak quinye: —Us xak reheb li ac camenakeb. Eb aßan saheb saß xchßôleb chiruheb li toj yoßyôqueb saß ruchichßochß.—
3Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
3Abanan kßaxal cuißchic us chokß reheb li toj mâjiß nequeßyoßla, xban nak toj mâjiß nequeßril li mâusilal li na-uxman saß ruchichßochß.
4Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
4Ut quinqßue ajcuiß retal nak li ani nacßanjelac chi châbil ut chi cau, aßan nacakalîc. Ut chixjunil aßin mâcßaß na-oc cuiß. Junes raylal naxqßue.
5The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.
5Li cuînk li mâcßaß xnaßleb naxkßalu li rukß saß rochoch. Mâcßaß cuan re xban nak incßaß nacßanjelac.
6Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.
6Us nak naxbânu chi joßcan. Us nak kßalkßo rukß saß rochoch chiru nak tixcamsi rib chi cßanjelac chi mâcßaß rajbal xban nak aßan junes raylal naxqßue.
7Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun.
7Ut quinqßue ajcuiß retal nak cuan cuißchic cßaßak re ru na-uxman saß ruchichßochß li mâcßaß na-oc cuiß.
8There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.
8Junak cuînk mâ ani cuan re, mâcßaß ramîg, chi moco ralal xcßajol, chi moco cuan ras ut rîtzßin. Li cuînk aßan incßaß nahilan chi cßanjelac chi moco nahilan chixcßoxlanquil lix biomal. Incßaß naxcßoxla cßaßut nak naxcamsi rib chi cßanjelac chi moco naxcßoxla cßaßut nak incßaß naxyal xsahil li cßaßru naxcßanjela. Joßcan nak mâcßaß rajbal nak tixcamsi rib junak chi cßanjelac.
9Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
9Kßaxal us nak teßcßanjelak cuib, chiru nak tâcßanjelak junak xjunes xban nak cui teßcßanjelak saß cuibal us tâêlk lix cßanjeleb chiruheb.
10For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
10Cui li jun tâtßanekß, li jun chic tixtenkßa chi cuaclîc. Ra chokß re li nacuan xjunes xban nak cui tâtßanekß, mâ ani tâtenkßânk re chi cuaclîc.
11Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
11Joßcan ajcuiß cui cuanqueb cuib teßoc chi cuârc chi lakßlo, teßxkßixna rib saß cuibal. Aban cui jun ajcuiß tâoc chi cuârc xjunes, ¿chan ta cuiß ru nak tixkßixna rib xjunes?
12And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
12Cui jun ajcuiß tâpletik, naru teßnumtâk saß xbên. Abanan cui cuibeb, naru teßxcuy xsumenquil. Joßcan ajcuiß li cßam li oxib ru naxcuy. Incßaß natßupeß saß junpât.
13Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.
13Kßaxal us junak al toj sâj cuan xnaßleb, usta nebaß, chiru junak rey ac chêc, mâcßaß xnaßleb ut incßaß naraj naqßueheß xnaßleb.
14For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.
14Junak sâj al naru tâoc chokß rey, usta saß tzßalam tâêlk chak malaj ut saß nebaßil.
15I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.
15Chixjunileb li tenamit teßoquênk chirix li sâj al li tâoc chokß rêkaj li rey.Kßaxal cuißchic nabaleb li tenamit li queßoquen chirix nak qui-oc chokß rey. Abanan li tenamit li teßcuânk mokon incßaß chic sahakeb xchßôl riqßuin. Joßcan ajcuiß aßin mâcßaß na-oc cuiß. Junes raylal naxqßue.
16There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
16Kßaxal cuißchic nabaleb li tenamit li queßoquen chirix nak qui-oc chokß rey. Abanan li tenamit li teßcuânk mokon incßaß chic sahakeb xchßôl riqßuin. Joßcan ajcuiß aßin mâcßaß na-oc cuiß. Junes raylal naxqßue.
