21

1Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
1Aßan aßin li chakßrab li tento teßxbânu li tenamit:
2If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
2Cui teßxlokß junak xmôseb, cuakib chihab ajcuiß tâcßanjelak chiruheb. Saß li xcuuk chihab libre chic tâcanâk ut incßaß tento tixtoj li relic.
3If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
3Cui xjunes tâoc riqßuineb, xjunes ajcuiß tâêlk. Ut cui cuan rixakil nak tâoc, tixcßam chirix li rixakil joßqueb ajcuiß li ralal xcßajol.
4If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
4Abanan cui lix patrón tâqßuehok rixakil ut cui cuan xcocßal riqßuin li ixk aßan, tento teßcanâk riqßuin lix patrón lix cocßal rochben li rixakil. Ut li cuînk tâxic xjunes.
5And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
5Cui ut li lokßbil môs naxye: “Lâin ninra lin patrón ut ninra li cuixakil joß eb ajcuiß lin cocßal. Incßaß nacuaj xic”,
6Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever.
6li patrón tixcßam lix môs riqßuin laj rakol âtin. Aran teßxxakab li môs chiru li puerta malaj chiru li cheß li cuan chire li puerta. Ut tixhop lix xic riqßuin jun li chßîchß kßes rußuj. Aßan retalil nak tâcanâk chokß xmôs chi junaj cua.
7And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
7Ut cui ani tixcßayi lix rabin chokß lokßbil môs, li xkaßal aßan incßaß chic tâêlk libre joß nak nequeßel li môs cuînk.
8If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
8Cui lix patrón incßaß naraj tixcßam chokß rixakil xban nak incßaß nacuulac chiru, tento tixqßue xlesêns re nak jalan tâlokßok re. Abanan incßaß naru tixcßayi reheb li jalaneb xtenamit.
9And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
9Cui ut lix patrón tixsumub li xkaßal riqßuin li ralal, tento nak tixra li xkaßal joß nak naxra lix rabin.
10If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
10Ut cui li cuînk aßan tixcßam jalan chic ixk chokß rixakil, tento nak tixqßue rakß ut tixqßue xcua li rixakil li quixcßam xbên cua, ut tento ajcuiß nak tâcuânk riqßuin.
11And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
11Cui li cuînk aßan incßaß tixbânu li oxib li naxye saß li chakßrab aßin, li ixk tâcanâk libre ut mâ jun centavo tixtoj.
12He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
12Li ani tixsacß ras rîtzßin, toj retal tixcamsi, tento nak tâcamsîk ajcuiß aßan.
13And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
13Li ani naxcamsi junak chi incßaß yal naraj xchßôl, nacam ban xban nak joßcan naraj li Dios, li jun aßan naru tâcolekß. Abanan lâin tinyehok re bar cuan li tenamit tâxic cuiß xcolbal rib.
14But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
14Cui cuan junak yô xjoskßil saß xbên li ras rîtzßin ut cui tixcamsi chi yal târaj xchßôl, li jun aßan tâsiqßuekß toj retal teßxtau. Usta cuan chak saß lin artal, teßrisi chak ut teßxcamsi.
15And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
15Li ani tixsacß xnaß xyucuaß, aßan tento tâcamsîk.
16And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
16Joßcan ajcuiß li ani târelkßa junak ras rîtzßin, usta ac xcßayi jalan aj e, malaj ut toj cuânk riqßuin, aßan tento ajcuiß tâcamsîk.
17And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
17Ut li ani tixmajecua xnaß xyucuaß, aßan tento tâcamsîk.
18And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
18Cui cuanqueb cuib li cuînk yôkeb chi pletic ut mâre li jun tixqßue chi pec li jun chic, malaj ut chi rukß, abanan incßaß tâcâmk li tâsaqßuekß, tâyajêrk ban xban li saqßuecß.
19If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
19Cui tâcuaclîk ut tâbêk cuißchic, usta riqßuin xukß, tâcanâk libre li quisacßoc re. Abanan tento tixtoj lix banbal li quixsacß ut tixtoj ajcuiß jarub cutan incßaß xcßanjelac.
20And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
20Cui junak patrón tixsacß riqßuin cheß lix lokßbil môs cuînk malaj lix lokßbil môs ixk, ut tâcâmk saß rukß, tento nak li patrón tixtoj xmâc.
21Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
21Abanan cui toj yoßyôk jun malaj cuib cutan chic li môs, li patrón incßaß tâqßuehekß chixtojbal lix mâc xban nak xmôs ajcuiß li quixsacß.
22If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
22Cui cuanqueb cuib li cuînk yôkeb chi pletic ut teßxtochß junak yaj aj ixk, ut li ixk aßan tânumekß lix yajel xban nak quitochßeß, abanan incßaß tâcâmk li ixk, tento nak teßxtoj li joß nimal li tixpatzß li bêlomej rochben laj rakol âtin.
23And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
23Abanan cui li ixk tâcâmk, tento nak teßcamsîk ajcuiß li queßtochßoc re.
24Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
24Li ani târisi xnakß ru li ras rîtzßin, tâisîk ajcuiß li xnakß ru aßan. Ut li ani târisi ruch re li ras rîtzßin, tâisîk ajcuiß li ruch re aßan. Ut li ani târisi li rukß li ras rîtzßin, tâisîk ajcuiß li rukß aßan. Ut li ani târisi li rok li ras rîtzßin, tâisîk ajcuiß li rok aßan.
25Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
25Li ani tixcßat ras rîtzßin, tâcßatekß ajcuiß aßan. Ut li ani tixyocß ras rîtzßin, tâyoqßuekß ajcuiß aßan. Ut li ani tixsacß ras rîtzßin, tâsaqßuekß ajcuiß aßan.
26And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
26Cui junak patrón tixsacß xnakß ru lix lokßbil môs cuînk malaj ut lix lokßbil môs ixk ut cui tixsach junak lix nakß ru li môs xban, tento nak li patrón târisi libre li môs aßan yal xban nak quixsach jun li xnakß ru.
27And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.
27Cui junak patrón tixsacß saß re lix lokßbil môs cuînk malaj ut lix lokßbil môs ixk, ut cui târisi junak li ruch re xban, tento nak li patrón târisi libre li môs aßan yal xban nak quirisi jun li ruch re.
28If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
28Cui junak bôyx tixxekß junak cuînk malaj ut junak ixk ut xban aßan tâcâmk, li bôyx aßan tento tâcamsîk chi pec ut lix tibel incßaß tâtißekß. Laj êchal re libre tâcanâk.
29But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
29Abanan cui ac cßaynak chi xekßoc li bôyx ut ac quiyeheß resil re laj êchal re abanan incßaß naxbacß, cui li bôyx aßan naxcamsi junak cuînk malaj junak ixk, li bôyx tâcamsîk chi pec ut tâcamsîk ajcuiß laj êchal re.
30If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
30Cui laj rakol âtin tixye nak naru tixtoj re nak incßaß tâcamsîk, tento nak tixtoj li joß nimal tâpatzßekß re, re xcolbal rix lix yußam.
31Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
31Ut joßcan ajcuiß tâuxmânk cui li bôyx naxxekß junak ralal malaj ut junak xrabin laj êchal re.
32If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
32Ut cui li bôyx tixxekß junak lokßbil môs cuînk malaj ut jun lokßbil môs ixk, tento nak laj êchal re li bôyx tixtoj lajêb xcaßcßâl chi tumin plata re lix patrón li môs li tâxekßekß. Ut li bôyx tâcamsîk chi pec.
33And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
33Li ani naxbec junak li jul ut incßaß naxtzßap, malaj ut naxcanab chi teto li ac becbil, ut cui junak li bûr malaj junak li bôyx tâtßanekß chi saß,
34The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
34tento nak laj êchal re li jul tâtojok re li xul li xtßaneß saß jul. Ut li xul camenak tâcanâk chokß re.
35And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
35Cui junak bôyx tixxekß xbôyx jalan chic ut tixcamsi, tento nak tâcßayîk li bôyx li xxekßoc ut teßxjach saß xyi lix tzßak. Ut teßxjach ajcuiß saß xyi li bôyx li quicamsîc.Abanan cui nanauman nak ac cßaynak chi xekßoc li bôyx ut laj êchal re incßaß naxbacß, tento nak laj êchal re tixqßue junak rêkaj yoßyo ut li bôyx camenak tâcanâk chokß re.
36Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
36Abanan cui nanauman nak ac cßaynak chi xekßoc li bôyx ut laj êchal re incßaß naxbacß, tento nak laj êchal re tixqßue junak rêkaj yoßyo ut li bôyx camenak tâcanâk chokß re.
