33

1Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
1Li Kâcuaß quiâtinac cuiqßuin ut quixye cue:
2Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
2—At ralal cuînk, âtinan riqßuineb lâ cuech tenamitil ut tâye reheb: Joßcaßin xye li Kâcuaß. Nak lâin tinqßue jun tenamit chi pletic riqßuin jun chic tenamit, li tenamit aßan tixsicß junak saß xyânkeb aßan chokß aj ilol re li tenamit.
3If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
3Nak laj ilol re li tenamit târil nak yôqueb chi châlc li xicß nequeßiloc reheb, tixyâbasi li trompeta re xyebal resil re li tenamit nak xeßchal chi pletic.
4Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
4Cui ani târabi xyâb li trompeta ut mâcßaß tixbânu ut tâcamsîk xbaneb li xicß nequeßiloc re, aßan cuan re cui tâcamsîk.
5He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
5Lix camic tâcanâk saß xbên aßan xban nak xrabi xyâb li trompeta, ut mâcßaß quixbânu. Aban li tâabînk tixcol lix yußam.
6But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
6Cui laj ilol re li tenamit târil nak yôkeb chi châlc li xicß nequeßiloc reheb ut incßaß tixyâbasi lix trompeta, eb li tenamit teßcamsîk xbaneb, ut laj ilol re li tenamit, aßan cuan xmâc xban nak mâcßaß xbânu re xcolbaleb.
7So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
7Li Kâcuaß quixye cue: —Anakcuan, at ralal cuînk, yôquin châxakabanquil chokß aj ilol reheb li ralal xcßajol laj Israel. Chaqßue retal chixjunil li cßaßru tinye âcue, ut tâye aßan reheb.
8When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
8Cui tinye âcue nak tâcâmk junak li incßaß us xnaßleb, tento nak lâat tâye re li jun aßan nak incßaß us yô, re nak tâyotßekß xchßôl ut tixjal xcßaßux. Cui incßaß tâchßolob xyâlal chiru, aßan tâcâmk xban lix mâc. Abanan saß âbên lâat tâcanâk lix camic.
9Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
9Abanan cui tâye re nak incßaß us yô, ut aßan incßaß na-abin châcuu, li jun aßan tâcâmk. Abanan lix camic incßaß tâcanâk saß âbên.
10Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
10At ralal cuînk, joßcaßin tâye reheb li ralal xcßajol laj Israel. Lâex nequeye, “Kßaxal ra cuanco xban li mâc ut li mâusilal nakabânu. Yôco chi osocß xban. ¿Chanru nak târûk tâcuânk kayußam?” chanquex.
11Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
11Tâye reheb nak li Kâcuaß xye chi joßcaßin: Yoßyôquin lâin li nimajcual Dios. Lâin incßaß nacuaj nak texcâmk saß lê mâc. Nacuaj ban nak têjal ênaßleb ut têcanab xbânunquil li mâusilal ut tâcuânk êyußam. Ex aj Israel, canabomak xbânunquil li mâusilal. ¿Cßaßut nak têqßue êrib chi câmc xban lê mâc?
12Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
12At ralal cuînk, tâye reheb lâ cuech tenamitil nak lix tîquilal li tîc xchßôl incßaß tixcol aßan nak tâmâcobk, chi moco tâsachekß ru xban li mâusilal li quixbânu cui tixjal xcßaßux ut tixcanab xbânunquil li mâusilal. Cui junak tîc xchßôl tâoc chi mâcobc, aßan incßaß tâcolekß xban li tîquilal li quixbânu junxil.
13When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
13Lâin naru ninye re junak li tîc xchßôl nak cuânk xyußam. Abanan cui naxcßojob xchßôl riqßuin li tîquilal li quixbânu ut riqßuin aßan tâoc chi mâcobc, lâin incßaß tinjultica li us li quixbânu. Aßan tâcâmk xban li mâc li quixbânu.
14Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
14Cui lâin tinye re junak li naxbânu li mâusilal nak tâcâmk, ut cui aßan tixcanab xbânunquil li incßaß us ut tixbânu li us, aßan incßaß tâcâmk.
15If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
15Tâcuânk xyußam cui tixkßaxtesi li prenda li quixcßul nak quixqßue chi toß li tumin, ut cui tixkßaxtesi li cßaßru quirelkßa ut cui tixbânu li cßaßru naxye saß li chakßrab li naqßuehoc yußam. Cui tixcanab xbânunquil li mâusilal, relic chi yâl tâcuânk xyußam. Incßaß tâcâmk.
16None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
16Incßaß tâqßuehekß saß xbên li mâc li quixbânu junxil. Quixbânu li us ut li tîquilal. Relic chi yâl tâcuânk xyußam.
17Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
17Mâre lâ cuech tenamitil teßxye nak moco tîc ta li ninbânu lâin li Kâcuaß. Abanan li nequeßxbânu eb aßan, aßan li moco tîc ta.
18When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
18Nak junak li tîc xchßôl tixjal xcßaßux ut tixcanab xbânunquil li tîquilal ut tixbânu li incßaß us, aßan tâcâmk xban li mâc li tixbânu.
19But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
19Ut cui junak li incßaß us xnaßleb tixcanab xbânunquil li mâusilal ut tixbânu li tîquilal ut li châbilal, aßan tâcuânk xyußam xban li us li tixbânu.
20Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
20Abanan lâex li ralal xcßajol laj Israel nequeye nak moco tîc ta li cßaßru ninbânu lâin. Lâin li nimajcual Dios tinrakok âtin saß êbên chêjûnkalex aß yal chanru lê yehom êbânuhom, chan li Dios.
21And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
21Nak yô cablaju chihab kacßambal chi prêxil aran Babilonia, saß li ôb xbe li xlaje po, quicuulac cuiqßuin jun li cuînk quiêlelic Jerusalén. Li cuînk aßan quixye cue nak li tenamit Jerusalén ac x-êchanîc xbaneb li xicß nequeßiloc re.
22Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
22Saß li ecuu nak toj mâjiß nacuulac cuiqßuin li cuînk li quiêlelic chak Jerusalén, lâin quicuecßa xcuanquil li Kâcuaß. Ac xtehon lix tzßûmal cue ut quiru quinâtinac cuißchic saß li ekßela nak quicuulac cuiqßuin li cuînk.
23Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
23Li Kâcuaß quiâtinac cuiqßuin ut quixye cue:
24Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
24—At ralal cuînk, eb laj Israel li cuanqueb saß lix tenamiteb, li jucßbil, yôqueb chixyebal chi joßcaßin: Laj Abraham jun ajcuiß chi cuînk, abanan chixjunil li naßajej quiqßueheß re. Lâo kßaxal nabalo. Joßcan nak li naßajej aßin xqßueheß chokß ke.
25Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
25Tâye reheb nak lâin li nimajcual Dios ninye: Lâex nequetiu li tib rochben lix quiqßuel. Ut nequelokßoni li jalanil dios ut nequexcamsin. ¿Ma naru ta biß têrêchani li naßajej aßin cui toj yôquex chixbânunquil li mâusilal?
26Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land?
26Cau êchßôl saß xbên lê chßîchß ut nequebânu li mâusilal. Nequemux ru li rixakil lê ras êrîtzßin. Cui toj yôquex chixbânunquil li mâusilal, ¿chanru nak têrêchani li naßajej aßin?
27Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
27Tâye reheb nak lâin li yoßyôquil Dios ninye nak relic chi yâl telajeßcamsîk li cuanqueb saß eb li tenamit li poßbileb. Ut eb li cuanqueb saß li cßalebâl teßlajeßcamsîk xbaneb li joskß aj xul. Ut eb li cuanqueb saß eb li ochoch pec ut saß eb li cab li nequeßxcol cuiß ribeb telajeßcâmk xban caki yajel.
28For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
28Lâin tinsach ru li naßajej ut mâcßaß chic tâcuânk chi saß. Tinsach lix cuanquileb li queßxkßetkßeti cuiß ribeb. Mâcßaß chic tincanab saß eb li tzûl li cuanqueb Israel toj retal nak mâ ani tânumekß aran.
29Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.
29Lâin tinsukßisi lix naßajeb chokß chaki chßochß. Mâcßaß chic cuan chi saß tâcanâk xban li mâusilal quilajeßxbânu. Riqßuin aßin teßxqßue retal nak lâin li Kâcuaß Dios.
30Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
30At ralal cuînk, eb lâ cuech tenamitil nequeßxxakab ribeb chiru li tzßac ut saß eb li oquebâl reheb li rochocheb ut nequeßâtinac châcuix. Nequeßxye chi ribileb rib, “Yoßkeb kabihak cßaßru li esilal li tixye ke li Kâcuaß,” chanqueb.
31And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
31Lin tenamit teßcuulak âcuiqßuin chirabinquil li cßaßru tâye joß cßaynakeb xbânunquil. Teßrabi li cßaßru tâye, abanan incßaß teßxbânu. Yal chi xtzßûmal reheb teßxye nak us lâ cuâtin, abanan saß xchßôleb caßaj cuiß li reheb aßan teßxcßoxla.
32And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
32Chokß reheb aßan chanchanat jun aj bichanel joß jun li nabichan bich re rahoc chi chßinaßus. Teßrabi li cßaßru tâye abanan incßaß teßxbânu.Abanan tâcßulmânk li cßaßru xinye. Ut nak ac xcßulman, aran teßxqßue retal nak lâat tzßakal profeta li xatcuan saß xyânkeb.—
33And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
33Abanan tâcßulmânk li cßaßru xinye. Ut nak ac xcßulman, aran teßxqßue retal nak lâat tzßakal profeta li xatcuan saß xyânkeb.—
