¹In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

²And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

³And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

³Li Dios quixye: —Chicuânk li cutan, chan. Ut quicuan li cutan.

⁴And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

⁴Ut li Dios quiril nak us li cutan. Ut quixjach li cutan riqßuin li kßojyîn.

⁵And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

⁵Ut li cutan quixqßue ajcuiß cutan chokß xcßabaß. Ut li kßojyîn, kßojyîn ajcuiß quixqßue chokß xcßabaß. Ut qui-oc li kßojyîn ut quisakêu. Aßan li xbên li cutan.

⁶And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

⁶Ut li Dios quixye: —Chicuânk li choxa re tixjach li haß li cuan takßa riqßuin li cuan takecß.— Ut quicßulman joß quixye li Dios.

⁷And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

⁷Li Dios quixjach ru li haß chi ribil. Cuan li haß quixcanab takßa ut cuan quixcanab takecß saß li choxa. Ut joßcan quixbânu li Dios.

⁸And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

⁸Li choxa li quijachoc re li haß chi ribil quixqßue chokß xcßabaß choxa. Qui-oc li kßojyîn ut quisakêu. Aßan li xcab li cutan.

⁹And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

⁹Ut li Dios quixye: —Chichßutlâk chixjunil li haß li cuan takßa ut chicanâk chi chaki li chßochß, chan. Ut quicßulman joß quixye li Dios.

¹⁰And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

¹⁰Li Dios quixye nak li chaki ru, chßochß xcßabaß. Ut li chßutubanbil haß, palau quixqßue chokß xcßabaß. Ut li Dios quiril nak us li quixbânu.

¹¹And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

¹¹Li Dios quixye: —Chicuânk li rax pim saß ruchichßochß, chan. Li acuîmk tâûchînk ut tâcuânk riyajil. Ut eb li cheß teßûchînk ut teßcuânk riyajil, aß yal cßaßru li riyajil li junjûnk. Ut quicßulman joß quixye li Dios.

¹²And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

¹²Quicuan li rax pim saß ruchichßochß. Li pim naxqßue riyajil aß yal cßaßru chi pimul. Ut joß ajcuiß li cheß naûchin ut cuan riyajil aß yal cßaßru chi cheßil. Ut li Dios quiril nak us li quixbânu.

¹³And the evening and the morning were the third day.

¹³Ut qui-oc li kßojyîn ut quisakêu. Aßan li rox li cutan.

¹⁴And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

¹⁴Ut li Dios quixye: —Cheßcuânk xcutanquil ru li choxa re nak tixjach rib li cutan riqßuin li kßojyîn; ut eb aßan teßcßanjelak chokß retalil li sakßehil ut li habalkße, joß ajcuiß retalil li cutan ut li chihab.

¹⁵And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

¹⁵Ut cheßlemtzßûnk chiru li choxa re xcutanobresinquil li ruchichßochß. Ut quicßulman joß quixye li Dios.

¹⁶And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

¹⁶Li Dios quixyîb li sakße ut li po re teßxcutanobresi ru li ruchichßochß. Li sakße aßan li kßaxal nim li nalemtzßun chiru li cutan ut li po aßan li nacutanobresin chiru li kßojyîn. Ut quixyîb ajcuiß eb li chahim.

¹⁷And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

¹⁷Ut li Dios quixqßueheb chiru li choxa re teßxcutanobresi ru li ruchichßochß.

¹⁸And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

¹⁸Li Dios quixqßueheb aran re xberesinquil li cutan ut li kßojyîn. Quixqßueheb re xjachbal li cutan riqßuin li kßojyîn. Ut li Dios quiril nak us li quixbânu.

¹⁹And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

¹⁹Ut qui-oc li kßojyîn ut quisakêu. Aßan li xcâ li cutan.

²⁰And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

²⁰Li Dios quixye: —Cheßcuânk nabaleb li xul saß li haß, ut cheßcuânk ajcuiß li xul li nequeßrupupic chiru choxa. Ut joßcan quixbânu li Dios.

²¹And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

²¹Ut li Dios quixyoßobtesiheb li nînki car ut chixjunileb li xul li cuanqueb saß haß, aß yal cßaßru chi xulil. Ut quixyoßobtesi ajcuiß li xul li nequeßrupupic, aß yal cßaßru chi xulil. Li Dios quiril nak us li quixbânu.

²²And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

²²Li Dios quirosobtesiheb li xul aßan ut quixye reheb: —Chexnabalokß ut chexqßuiânk. Ut chexcuânk saß chixjunil li haß yalak bar. Joß ajcuiß li cocß xul chiru choxa cheßqßuiânk saß ruchichßochß.

²³And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

²³Ut qui-oc li kßojyîn ut quisakêu cuißchic. Aßan li quixbânu saß roß li cutan.

²⁴And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

²⁴Ut quixye ajcuiß li Dios: —Cheßcuânk yalak cßaßru chi xulil saß ruchichßochß. Cheßcuânk chixjunileb li xul li nequeßcuaßac pim. Cheßcuânk eb li xul li nequeßxjucuqui rib chiru chßochß. Joß ajcuiß li xul li nequeßcuan saß qßuicheß. Ut quicßulman joß quixye li Dios.

²⁵And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

²⁵Ut li Dios quixyoßobtesiheb chixjunil li xul li nequeßcuan saß qßuicheß aß yal cßaßru chi xulil. Ut quixyoßobtesi chixjunileb li xul li nequeßcuaßac pim, aß yal cßaßru chi xulil. Joß ajcuiß li xul li nequeßxjucuqui rib chiru chßochß, aß yal cßaßru chi xulil. Ut li Dios quiril nak us li quixbânu.

²⁶And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

²⁶Ut quixye ajcuiß li Dios: —Kayoßobtesihak li cuînk joß li kilobâl lâo. Ut aßan tâcuânk xcuanquil saß xbêneb chixjunileb li xul li cuanqueb saß ruchichßochß, joß li car saß li palau ut li xul li nequeßrupupic chiru choxa. Ut tâcuânk xcuanquil saß xbêneb li quetômk ut li xul li cuanqueb saß pim, joß ajcuiß saß xbên chixjunileb li xul li nequeßxjucuqui rib saß chßochß, chan li Dios.

²⁷So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

²⁷Ut li Dios quixyoßobtesi li cuînk ut li ixk joß li rilobâl aßan. Cuînk ut ixk nak quixyoßobtesiheb.

²⁸And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

²⁸Li Dios quirosobtesiheb aßan ut quixye reheb: —Chicuânk lê cocßal ut chexqßuiânk toj retal nak tânujak li ruchichßochß. Lâex textaklânk saß xbên chixjunil li cßaßru cuan. Textaklânk saß xbêneb chixjunil li xul li cuanqueb saß li haß joß ajcuiß li cuanqueb chiru choxa ut li cuanqueb saß ruchichßochß, chan.

²⁹And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

²⁹Ut quixye ajcuiß: —Xinqßue êre chixjunil li acuîmk li cuan saß ruchichßochß. Xinqßue êre li acuîmk li cuan riyajil. Joßcan ajcuiß chixjunil li cheß li naûchin ut naxqßue riyajil re nak tâcuânk lê tzacaêmk.

³⁰And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

³⁰Chixjunil li rax pim xinqßue chokß re xtzacaêmkeb li xul li cuanqueb saß ruchichßochß. Xinqßue ajcuiß reheb li xul li nequeßrupupic chiru choxa ut reheb chixjunileb li nequeßxjucuqui rib saß chßochß. Xinqßue chixjunil li rax pim chokß re lix tzacaêmkeb li xul. ³¹And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
