10

1Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
1Lâex aj Israel, abihomak li oc re xyebal êre li Kâcuaß.
2Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
2Aßin li naxye li Kâcuaß: —Mêbânu joß nequeßxbânu li incßaß nequeßxpâb li Dios. Mi-oc êxiu xban li cßaßru nequeril chiru li choxa, usta eb li jalan xtenamiteb nequeßxucuac xban li cßaßru nequeßril saß choxa.
3For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
3Mâcßaß na-oc cuiß li cßaynakeb chixbânunquil. Nequeßxtßan jun li cheß saß qßuicheß. Ut laj pechß naxtrabaji riqßuin lix chßîchß.
4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
4Nequeßxletz oro ut plata chokß xsahob ruheb lix dios li nequeßxyîb. Ut nequeßxtßoj riqßuin claux ut martillo re nak incßaß tâecßânk saß xnaßaj.
5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
5Xakxôqueb saß xnaßaj. Chanchaneb li cheß palmera. Incßaß naru nequeßâtinac. Tento xpakonquileb xban nak incßaß naru nequeßbêc. Mexxucuac chiruheb xban nak incßaß nequeßxbânu li us, chi moco li incßaß us, xban nak mâcßaßeb xcuanquil.—
6Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
6At Kâcuaß, kßaxal nim lâ cuanquil. Mâ ani juntakßêt âcuiqßuin. Nim xcuanquil lâ cßabaß ut kßaxal lokß.
7Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
7¿Ma cuan ta biß junak incßaß tâxucuânk âcuu? Lâat lix reyeb chixjunileb li tenamit. Âcßulub nak tâxucuak âcuu. Mâ jun târûk xjuntakßêtanquil âcuiqßuin chi moco saß xyânkeb li cuanqueb xnaßleb saß ruchichßochß, chi moco saß xyânkeb li cuanqueb xcuanquil.
8But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
8Eb li nequeßlokßonin re li dios cheß tônteb ut mâcßaß nequeßoc cuiß xban nak nequeßxpatzß xnaßleb riqßuineb li yîbanbil dios.
9Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
9Nequeßxcßam chak li plata toj Tarsis ut nequeßxcßam chak lix oro aran Ufaz. Ut eb li cuînk nequeßxletz chiru lix dioseb li queßxyîb. Ut nequeßxqßue rakßeb azul ut púrpura yîbanbil xbaneb li nequeßxnau cßanjelac chi us.
10But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
10Abanan li Kâcuaß, aßan li tzßakal Dios. Aßan li yoßyôquil Dios ut li tzßakal Rey chi junelic kße cutan. Nak yô xjoskßil li Kâcuaß, li ruchichßochß na-ecßan saß xnaßaj. Ut eb li xnînkal ru tenamit incßaß teßxcuy rilbal lix joskßil.
11Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
11Lâex aj Israel, cheyehak reheb li xnînkal ru tenamit nak eb lix yîbanbil dios teßisîk saß ruchichßochß. Mâcuaßeb li yîbanbil dios li queßyîban re li choxa ut li ruchichßochß.
12He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
12Li Kâcuaß Dios, aßan li quiyîban re li ruchichßochß riqßuin xnimal xcuanquil. Riqßuin lix naßleb quixyîb li ruchichßochß saß xnaßaj ut quixyîb ajcuiß li choxa.
13When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
13Riqßuin li râtin naxqßue chi châlc chi cau li hab. Ut naxchßutub li haß saß xmaril li ruchichßochß ut naxqßue chi takecß li chok saß choxa. Naxtakla li hab ut li rakß câk ut narisi li ikß saß li naßajej li xocxo cuiß ut naxtakla saß ruchichßochß.
14Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
14Tônteb chixjunileb li cuînk ut mâcßaßeb xnaßleb. Chixjunileb laj tßenol chßîchß nacßuteß xxutâneb xban li dios li queßxyîb. Mâcßaß na-oc cuiß li jalanil dios li nequeßxyîb xban nak moco yoßyôqueb ta.
15They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
15Mâcßaß nequeßoc cuiß li yîbanbil dios. Xcßulubeb nak teßtzßekekß. Tâcuulak xkßehil nak teßsachekß ruheb nak li Kâcuaß tâchâlk chi rakoc âtin.
16The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.
16Abanan li Kâcuaß lix Dios laj Jacob mâcuaß joßcan tixcßul. Li Kâcuaß, aßan li quiyîban re chixjunil li cßaßru cuan. Ut aßan quisicßoc ruheb laj Israel chokß xtenamit. Li Kâcuaß “Nimajcual Dios” xcßabaß.
17Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.
17Lâex li cuanquex rubel xtak li jalan tenamit, xocomak li cßaßru êre.
18For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
18Li Kâcuaß tâisînk êre saß li naßajej aßin. Tixtakla li raylal saß êbên nak textakla saß jalan tenamit. Texrahobtesi re nak têrecßa li raylal.
19Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
19Laj Jeremías quixye ajcuiß: —Tokßob xak ku. Kßaxal ra yôco chixcßulbal. Mâcßaß xbanol li karaylal. Lâo xkaye nak tento takacuy xcßulbal li raylal.
20My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
20Xeßpoßîc li katenamit. Chanchan nak xpoßeß li kamuhebâl. Ut queßtßupeß li laso li chapchôqueb cuiß. Eb li kalal kacßajol xoeßxcanab kajunes. Xeßsacheß ruheb. Mâ ani chic târûk tâxakabânk re li kamuhebâl. Mâ ani târûk tâyîbânk re li katenamit.
21For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
21Mâcßaßeb xnaßleb li nequeßcßamoc be chiku. Incßaß nequeßxsicß xnaßleb riqßuin li Dios. Joßcan nak queßpaltoß. Xban aßan nak cojeqßuîc yalak bar.
22Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
22Abihomak. Qßuehomak retal li esilal li yô chak chi châlc. Cßajoß li chokînc saß li nimla tenamit li cuan saß li norte. Teßxsach ru chixjunileb li tenamit li cuanqueb Judá. Tâcanâk chi mâcßaß chic cuan chi saß. Tâcanâk chokß xnaßaj laj xoj, chan laj Jeremías.
23O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
23Laj Jeremías quitijoc ut quixye: —At Kâcuaß, lâin ninnau nak li cuînk incßaß tixtakla rib xjunes. Moco aßan ta yal re saß xbên li tixbânu.
24O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
24At Kâcuaß, choâkßus taxak saß tîquilal. Moâkßus saß joskßil mâre anchal incßaß takacuy.Isi lâ joskßil saß xbêneb li xnînkal ru tenamit li incßaß nacateßxlokßoni. 25Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
25Isi lâ joskßil saß xbêneb li xnînkal ru tenamit li incßaß nacateßxlokßoni. Isi lâ joskßil saß xbêneb li incßaß nequeßxyâba lâ cßabaß xban nak queßxsach ruheb li ralal xcßajol laj Jacob. Queßxsach ruheb chixjunileb ut queßxsach ajcuiß lix naßajeb.
