¹The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

²Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.

³Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

³Joßcaßin xye êre li nimajcual Dios, lix Dioseb laj Israel: —Jalomak lê cßaßux ut jalomak lê naßleb re nak naru texincanab chi cuânc saß li naßajej aßin.

⁴Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.

⁴Mêpâb li nequeßxye laj balakß. Eb aßan nequeßxye, “Mâcßaß takacßul xban nak arin cuan lix templo li Dios,” chanqueb.

⁵For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;

⁵Jalomak lê cßaßux ut canabomak xbânunquil li incßaß us, ut cuânkex saß tîquilal riqßuineb lê ras êrîtzßin.

⁶If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:

⁶Incßaß têrahobtesi li jalan xtenamiteb, chi moco li mâcßaß xnaß xyucuaßeb ut li xmâlcaßan, chi moco têqßue chi camsîc li mâcßaß xmâqueb ut incßaß têbok raylal saß êbên riqßuin nak nequelokßoni li yîbanbil dios.

⁷Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

⁷Cui têcanab xbânunquil li mâusilal, texincanab chi cuânc saß li naßajej aßin li quinqßue chi junaj cua reheb lê xeßtônil yucuaß.

⁸Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

⁸Cheqßue retal li yôquex chixbânunquil. Lâex nequecßojob êchßôl saß xbên li ticßtiß, li mâcßaß na-oc cuiß.

⁹Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;

⁹Lâex nequex-elkßac, nequexcamsin, nequemux ru lê sumlajic, nequepatzß xcßabaß li Dios chi mâcßaß rajbal, nequecßat li pom chiru li yîbanbil dios Baal ut nequelokßoniheb li yîbanbil dios li incßaß quenau chak ru junxil.

¹⁰And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?

¹⁰Ut chirix aßan nequexcßulun saß li templo bar ninlokßonîc cuiß ut nequeye chi joßcaßin, “Cueßco, colbilo,” chanquex, ut toj yôquex ajcuiß chixbânunquil li mâusilal.

¹¹Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

¹¹¿Ma xsukßi ta biß lin templo li ninlokßonîc cuiß chokß xnaßajeb aj êlkß nak nequecßoxla lâex? ¿Ma incßaß ta biß ninnau cßaßru yôquex chixbânunquil? chan li Kâcuaß.

¹²But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

¹²Ayukex anakcuan Silo saß li naßajej li quinsicß chak ru junxil re tinlokßonîk cuiß. Qßuehomak retal cßaßru quinbânu re xban li mâc li queßxbânu lin tenamit Israel.

¹³And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;

¹³Anakcuan ut cßajoß li mâusilal xebânu. Lâin qßuila sut xinye êre nak têjal êcßaßux, abanan lâex incßaß nequeraj rabinquil li cuâtin. Lâin xexinbok re nak texsukßîk cuiqßuin, abanan incßaß xeraj.

¹⁴Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

¹⁴Joßcan nak tinbânu re lin templo joß quinbânu re li naßajej Silo. Tinbânu aßan re lin templo li cau cuiß êchßôl, li quinqßue re lê xeßtônil yucuaß ut êre ajcuiß lâex.

¹⁵And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

¹⁵Texintzßektâna joß nak quintzßektânaheb chixjunileb lê rechßalal, li ralal xcßajol laj Efraín. Lâin li Kâcuaß ninyehoc re aßin.—

¹⁶Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

¹⁶Li Kâcuaß quixye re laj Jeremías: —Mattijoc chirixeb li tenamit aßin chi moco tat-oquênk chirixeb chicuu. Mâtzßâma chicuu nak tintenkßaheb xban nak lâin incßaß tincuabi lâ tij.

¹⁷Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

¹⁷¿Ma incßaß nacacuil cßaßru yôqueb saß eb li tenamit li cuanqueb Judá? ¿Ma incßaß nacacuil cßaßru yôqueb saß eb li be aran Jerusalén?

¹⁸The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

¹⁸Eb li cocßal nequeßxcßam chak li siß. Ut eb li cuînk nequeßxloch li xam. Ut eb li ixk nequeßxyîb li caxlan cua re xlokßoninquil li jalanil dios li nequeßxye re “Reina re li choxa”. Nequeßxmayeja li vino chiruheb li jalanil dios re xqßuebal injoskßil.

¹⁹Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?

¹⁹Abanan, ¿ma cue ta biß lâin yôqueb chixbânunquil li raylal? ¿Ma mâcuaß ta biß aßaneb li teßxsach ribeb riqßuin li cßaßru nequeßxbânu?

²⁰Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

²¹Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

²¹Ut quixye ajcuiß li nimajcual Dios, lix Dioseb laj Israel: —Lâex lin tenamit, lâex yôquex chixqßuebal nabal lê cßatbil mayej joß ajcuiß lê mayej jun chßol chic. Abanan mâcßaß na-oc cuiß lê mayej. Kßaxal us raj nak têtzaca lâex.

²²For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

²²Nak lâin quincuisiheb lê xeßtônil yucuaß aran Egipto, incßaß quinye reheb nak tento teßxqßue lix cßatbil mayej ut li mayej li jun chßol chic.

²³But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

²³Li cßaßru quinchakßrabiheb cuiß chak junxil, aßan aßin: têbânu li cßaßru ninye ut lâinak lê Dios ut lâexak lin tenamit. Chexcuânk joß ninye êre re nak us tex-êlk, chanquin reheb.

²⁴But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

²⁴Abanan eb aßan incßaß queßraj xbânunquil li cßaßru quinye. Queßxcacuubresi ban lix chßôleb. Queßxbânu li mâusilal li queßraj xbânunquil xjuneseb. Incßaß queßabin chicuu. Kßaxal cuißchic nabal li mâusilal queßxbânu.

²⁵Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:

²⁵Chalen saß li cutan nak lê xeßtônil yucuaß queßel chak Egipto toj chalen anakcuan, rajlal quintaklaheb lin profeta riqßuineb chixchßolobanquil lix yâlal chiruheb.

²⁶Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.

²⁶Abanan eb aßan incßaß queßraj rabinquil li cßaßru quinye reheb. Queßxcacuubresi ban xchßôleb chixbânunquil li mâusilal. Kßaxal nabal li mâusilal queßxbânu chiru li queßxbânu lix xeßtônil yucuaßeb.

²⁷Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.

²⁷At Jeremías, lâat tâye chixjunil aßin reheb lin tenamit, usta incßaß teßabînk châcuu. Jap âcue chixyebal reheb, usta incßaß tateßxchakßbe.

²⁸But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

²⁸Lâat tâye reheb: Lâex aj Israel, lâex jun li tenamit li incßaß xebânu li cßaßru xye êre li Kâcuaß. Incßaß xecßûluban lê kßusbal xqßue êre li Kâcuaß lê Dios. Incßaß nequexcuan saß xyâlal, chi moco nequeye li yâl.

²⁹Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

²⁹Lâex aj Jerusalén, besomak li rismal lê jolom ut cutumak chi najt. Ut ocankex chi yâbac saß xbêneb li tzûl. Li Kâcuaß xextzßektâna xban nak yô xjoskßil saß êbên lâex lix tenamit.

³⁰For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.

³⁰Eb li ralal xcßajol laj Judá queßxbânu li mâusilal. Queßxmux ru lin templo li niquineßxlokßoni cuiß nak queßxqßue aran li jalanil dios li xicß nacuileb.

³¹And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.

³¹Saß li ru takßa li cuan Ben-hinom queßxyîb li artal li najt xteram saß li naßajej Tofet ut queßxcßat chokß xmayejeb li ralal xcßajoleb. Lâin incßaß quinye reheb nak teßxbânu chi joßcan chi moco quincßoxla nak joßcan teßxbânu.

³²Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.

³²Tâcuulak xkßehil nak incßaß chic teßxye “Tofet” re li naßajej aßan, chi moco teßxye “li ru takßa re Ben-hinom”. Teßxye ban re “li ru takßa re camsînc” xban nak aran teßxmukeb li camenak toj retal nak mâcßaßak chic lix naßajeb aran Tofet.

³³And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.

³³Ut lix tibeleb li teßcâmk teßtißekß xbaneb li soßsol ut eb li joskß aj xul ut mâ ani tâseßbesînk reheb.Lâin tincuisi li sahil chßôlej saß eb li tenamit li cuanqueb Judá joß ajcuiß saß li tenamit Jerusalén. Incßaß chic tâabîk xbicheb li tenamit nak saheb saß xchßôleb. Mâcßaßak chic li ninkße saß eb li tenamit chi moco tâcuânk chic sumlâc. Eb li tenamit teßcanâk chi mâcßaß chic cuan chi saß joß li chaki chßochß.—

³⁴Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
