1And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
1Li Jesús quixye reheb lix tzolom li jaljôquil ru âtin a'in: Quicuan jun li cuînk k'axal biom ut quicuan jun xmertôm. Cuanqueb li que'jitoc chirix li mertôm chiru li patrón ut que'xye re: -Lâ mertôm yô chixsachbal lâ biomal, chanqueb re.
2And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
2Jo'can nak quixbok lix mertôm ut quixye re: -¿C'a'ru xyâlal li yôquin chirabinquil châcuix? Tâk'axtesi lâ cuênt nak xatcuan chi c'anjelac xban nak inc'a' chic tatcanâk chok' inmertôm, chan re.
3Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
3Ut li mertôm quixye sa' xch'ôl: -¿C'a'ru tinbânu anakcuan xban nak lin patrón tinrisi sa' lin c'anjel? Inc'a' tincuy li cacuil c'anjel ut tinxutânâk chi xic chixtz'âmanquil c'a'ru cue chire cablal.
4I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
4Anakcuan ninnau c'a'ru tinbânu re nak cuânkeb li tine'xc'ul sa' rochocheb nak tin-isîk chi mertômil, chan sa' xch'ôl.
5So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
5Quixbokeb chak chi xjûnkaleb li cuanqueb xc'as riq'uin lix patrón. Ut quixye re li xbên: -¿Jo' nimal lâ c'as riq'uin lin patrón? chan.
6And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
6Ut li cuînk quixye re: -O'c'âl barril chi aceite, chan. Ut li mertôm quixye re: -Cue' li hu li tz'îbanbil cui' retalil lâ c'as. Chunlan ut jal sa' junpât. Lajêb roxc'âl aj chic tâtz'îba retalil chiru li hu a'in, chan.
7Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
7Ut quixye cui'chic re li jun chic: -Ut lâat, ¿jo' nimal lâ c'as? chan. Ut li cuînk quixye: -O'c'âl bisoc chi trigo, chan. Li mertôm quixye re: -Cue' li hu li tz'îbanbil cui' retalil lâ c'as. Jal ut câc'âl bisoc aj chic tâtz'îba retalil chiru li hu a'in, chan.
8And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
8Ut li patrón quisach xch'ôl chirilbal nak k'axal cuan xna'leb li mertôm li inc'a' us xna'leb. Eb li inc'a' neque'xnau lix yâlal k'axal sêbeb xch'ôl chixc'oxlanquil chanru tixtenk'a rib, usta inc'a' us tixbânu reheb li ras rîtz'in. K'axal sêbeb xch'ôl chiruheb li ralal xc'ajol li Dios.
9And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

11If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

13No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
13Mâ ani târûk tâc'anjelak chiru cuib chi patrón. Mâre tixra li jun ut xic' târil li jun chic, malaj ut xic' târil li jun ut tixra li jun chic. Inc'a' naru texc'anjelak chiru li Dios cui junes lê biomal nequec'oxla.

16The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

19There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
23Nak ac cuan sa' xbalba, yô chixc'ulbal li raylal aran. Qui-iloc takec' ut quiril laj Abraham ut laj Lázaro cuan chixc'atk.
24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
24Quixjap re ut quixye: -Kâcua' Abraham, chacuil taxak xtok'obâl cuu. Chatakla laj Lázaro chintenk'anquil. Chixt'akresi chak li ru'uj ruk' sa' ha' ut tolxquehobresi li ru'uj cuak' xban nak c'ajo' li raylal yôquin chixc'ulbal sa' li xam a'in, chan.
25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
25Ut laj Abraham quixye re: -At cuas cuîtz'in, julticak âcue nak toj yo'yôcat sa' ruchich'och' nabal âbiomal ut k'axal sa nak xatcuan. Ut laj Lázaro c'ajo' li raylal quixc'ul. Anakcuan c'ojobanbil xch'ôl laj Lázaro arin ut lâat k'axal ra cuancat.
26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
