Mark

7

1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
1Eb laj fariseo que'cuulac riq'uin li Jesús rochbeneb cuib oxib laj tz'îb li que'chal chak aran Jerusalén.
2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
2Ut eb a'an que'xq'ue retal nak cuan lix tzolom li Jesús que'cua'ac chi inc'a' que'xch'aj li ruk'eb chi tz'akal jo' c'aynakeb chixbânunquil laj fariseo.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
3Eb laj fariseo ut chixjunileb laj judío inc'a' neque'cua'ac cui inc'a' te'xch'aj li ruk'eb jo' naxye li chak'rab li canabanbil reheb xbaneb lix xe'tônil yucua'.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
4Ut nak neque'suk'i chak sa' c'ayil inc'a' neque'cua'ac cui inc'a' neque'ch'ajoc jo' naxye lix chak'rabeb. Ut cuan cui'chic nabal li na'leb li neque'xbânu jo' canabanbil reheb xbaneb li xe'tônil yucua', jo' li xch'ajbal lix sec', lix xar, li uc'al ch'îch' ut lix ch'ât.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
5Eb laj fariseo ut eb laj tz'îb que'xpatz' re li Jesús: -¿C'a'ut nak eb lâ tzolom inc'a' neque'xbânu li kachak'rabinquil canabanbil ke xbaneb li kaxe' katôn? Eb a'an neque'cua'ac chi inc'a' neque'xch'aj li ruk'eb jo' naxye li kachak'rabinquil, chanqueb.
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
6Nak quichak'oc li Jesús quixye reheb: -Yâl ajcui' li quixye laj Isaías chêrix lâex aj ca' pac'al u nak quixye chi jo'ca'in: Li tenamit a'in niquine'x-oxlok'i ca'aj cui' riq'uin xtz'ûmaleb re. Moco neque'xbânu ta chi anchal xch'ôleb.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
7Mâc'a' aj e nak niquine'xlok'oni xban nak li tijleb li neque'xc'ut a'an yal xchak'rab eb li cuînk. (Isa. 29:13)
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
8Lâex nequetz'ektâna lix chak'rab li Dios, ut a' chic lê najter na'leb nequebânu, jo' riq'uin xch'ajbal li sec' ut li xar ut li c'a'ak ru chi chak'rabil reheb li cuînk.-
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
9Li Jesús quixye ajcui' reheb: -Lâex nequetz'ektâna lix chak'rab li Dios re nak têbânu li najter na'leb canabanbil êre xbaneb lê xe'tônil yucua'.
10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
10Laj Moisés quixye, "Cha-oxlok'i lâ na' lâ yucua' ut ani tixhob xna' xyucua', tâcamsîk."
11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
11A'ut lâex nequeye cui cuan junak li cuînk inc'a' naraj xtenk'anquil lix na' xyucua', a'an naru tixye, "Corbán", chirix li c'a'ak re ru tixtenk'a cui' raj lix na' xyucua'. Li âtin a'an naraj naxye "yechi'inbil re li Dios".
12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
12Riq'uin xbânunquil a'an li cuînk inc'a' chic naru tixtenk'a lix na' xyucua', chanquex.
13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
13Ut cuan nabal chic c'a'ak re ru chi na'lebil nalajêbânu. Riq'uin xbânunquil li najter na'leb canabanbil êre, yôquex chixtz'ektânanquil lix chak'rab li Dios, chan li Jesús reheb.
14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
14Ut li Jesús quixbokeb li tenamit ut quixye reheb: -Abihomak chêjunilex li c'a'ru tinye ut q'uehomak retal re nak têtau xyâlal.
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
15Mâcua' li c'a'ru naxtzaca li cuînk namâco' cui'; aban li c'a'ru inc'a' us naxc'oxla, a'an namâco' cui'.
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
16Li ani naraj rabinquil, chixq'uehak retal li ninye.-
17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
17Nak li Jesús qui-el sa' xyânkeb li q'uila tenamit, qui-oc sa' cab. Ut eb lix tzolom que'xpatz' re: -¿C'a'ru xyâlal li âtin xaye?-
18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
18Ut li Jesús quixye reheb: -¿Ma inc'a' ajcui' xetau ru lâex li xinye? ¿Ma inc'a' nequenau nak mâcua' li c'a'ru naxtzaca junak namâco' cui'?
19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
19Li c'a'ru naxtzaca junak, a'an moco sa' râm ta naxic. Tîc sa' xsa' naxic ut chirix a'an naxtz'ek cui'chic, chan. Jo'can nak quixye nak chixjunil li natzacaman moco mâc ta xtzacanquil.
20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
20Ut quixye ajcui' li Jesús reheb: -Li inc'a' us naxc'oxla sa' xch'ôl, a'an namâcob cui'.
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
21Sa' xc'a'ux junak nachal chak li mâus aj na'leb, li muxuc caxâr, li co'bêtac yumbêtac, ut li xcamsinquil ras rîtz'in.
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
22Ut sa' xc'a'ux ajcui' nachal li elk'ac, lix rahinquil ru c'a'ru re ras rîtz'in, li mâusilal, li balak'înc, li xbânunquil li xutânalil na'leb, li cakalînc, li majecuânc, li k'etk'etil, ut lix majelil na'leb.
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
23Chixjunil li mâus aj na'leb a'in sa' xc'a'ux junak nachal chak ut a'an namâcob cui' li junjûnk.-
24And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
24Li Jesús cô sa' jalan na'ajej xcuênt Tiro ut xcuênt Sidón. Cox-oc sa' jun li cab. Inc'a' raj quiraj quinauhe' nak cuan aran. Abanan inc'a' quiru quixmuk rib.
25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
25Sa' junpât qui-abîc resil xban jun li ixk nak cuan aran. Li ixk a'an cuan jun lix co' cuan mâus aj musik'ej riq'uin. Cô riq'uin li Jesús ut quixcuik'ib rib chiru.
26The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
26Li ixk a'an mâcua' aj judío, a'an aj Sirofenicia. Quixtz'âma chiru li Jesús nak târisi li mâus aj musik'ej riq'uin lix co'.
27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
27Ut li Jesús quixye re: -Cua'akeb cuan junxil li coc'al. Inc'a' us xmak'bal xcuaheb li coc'al ut xq'uebal reheb li tz'i', chan.
28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
28Ut li ixk quichak'oc ut quixye re: -Yâl li nacaye, Kâcua', abanan eb li tz'i' neque'xxoc xc'aj xcua li coc'al rubel li mêx nak yôqueb chi cua'ac, chan.
29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
29Li Jesús quixye re li ixk: -Us li xaye. Ayu sa' lâ cuochoch. Ac x-el li mâus aj musik'ej riq'uin lâ co', chan.
30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
30Cô li ixk sa' li rochoch ut coxtau lix co' chi yocyo chiru lix ch'ât. Mâc'a' chic li mâus aj musik'ej riq'uin.
31And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
32Ut quic'ame' chak jun li cuînk riq'uin li Jesús tz'ap xic ut tat re. Que'xtz'âma chiru nak tixq'ue li ruk' sa' xbên.
33And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
33Li Jesús quirisi li cuînk sa' xyânkeb li tenamit ut quixc'am xjunes. Quixch'ic li ru'uj ruk' sa' xxic li cuînk. Quixt'akresi li ru'uj ruk' riq'uin li xya'al re ut quixch'e' li ru'uj rak' li cuînk.
34And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
34Qui-iloc sa' choxa, quixjik' xch'ôl ut quixye: -Efata.- Sa' li râtinobâl naraj naxye, "Chitelîk lâ xic ut chat-abînk."
35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
35Sa' junpât quiteli lix xic ut na-abin chic ut sa chic naâtinac.
36And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
36Ut li Jesús quixye reheb li q'uila tenamit: -Mâ ani aj e têserak'i li c'a'ru yôquin chixbânunquil, chan. Quixk'useb chi us. Abanan eb a'an k'axal cui'chic nak que'oc chixserak'inquil.C'ajo' nak que'sach xch'ôleb chirilbal ut que'xye: -Châbil chixjunil li naxbânu. Naxq'ue chi abînc li tz'ap xic ut naxq'ue chi âtinac li mem, chanqueb.
37And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
37C'ajo' nak que'sach xch'ôleb chirilbal ut que'xye: -Châbil chixjunil li naxbânu. Naxq'ue chi abînc li tz'ap xic ut naxq'ue chi âtinac li mem, chanqueb.
