Matthew

13

1The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
1Ut sa' li cutan a'an, li Jesús qui-el sa' li cab ut coxc'ojlâk chire li palau.
2And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
2Ut que'cuulac li q'uila tenamit riq'uin chirabinquil. Xban xq'uialeb li tenamit, li Jesús qui-oc sa' jun li jucub cuan sa' li palau ut quic'ojla chi sa'. Ut chixjunileb li tenamit xakxôqueb chire li ha'.
3And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
3Ut nabal c'a'ak re ru quixtzoleb cui' riq'uin jaljôquil ru âtin, ut quixye reheb: -Abihomak li tinye êre. Jun aj acuinel cô chi âuc.
4And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
4Ut nak yô chixhirbal li iyaj, cuan quinak chire be. Que'chal li xul li neque'xic'an ut que'xcua' li iyaj.
5Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
5Ut cuan ajcui' li iyaj quinak sa' li pec ru bar mâc'a' cui' mas li ch'och'. Sa' junpât quimok, abanan inc'a' quixchap xxe' xban nak jay li ch'och' sa' xbên li pec.
6And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
6Nak quichal li sak'e quichakic li acuîmk xban nak inc'a' cham naxic lix xe'.
7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
7Ut cuan cui'chic li iyaj quinak sa' xyânk li q'uix. Ut nak quichamo' li q'uix sa' xbên, quixnat' li acuîmk.
8But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
8Ut cuan cui'chic li iyaj quinak sa' li châbil ch'och'. Quimok ut quiûchin. Cuan quixq'ue lajêtk xca'c'âl ru. Cuan quixq'ue oxtakc'âl ru, ut cuan cui'chic quixq'ue o'takc'âl ru li junjûnk.
9Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9Tojo'nak li Jesús quixye reheb: -Li ani na-abin, chixq'uehak retal li c'a'ru ninye, chan.
10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
10Mokon chic que'cuulac lix tzolom riq'uin li Jesús, ut que'xye re: -¿C'a'ut nak nacacuâtinaheb sa' jaljôquil ru âtin?-
11He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
11Li Jesús quichak'oc ut quixye reheb: -Q'uebil êre lâex re nak tênau xyâlal li mukmûquil na'leb chirix lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios. Aban eb a'an inc'a' q'uebil reheb re te'xnau li na'leb a'an.
12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
12A' li ani naxtau ru lix yâlal, k'axal cui'chic nabal tâq'uehek' chixnau; a'ut li ani ca'ch'in ajcui' naxnau, tâisîk chiru li jo' q'uial naxnau.
13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
13Jo'can nak ninâtinac riq'uineb sa' jaljôquil ru âtin xban nak usta yôqueb chi iloc, abanan inc'a' te'xq'ue retal. Usta yôqueb chi abînc, abanan inc'a' te'xtau xyâlal.
14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
14Chi jo'can natz'akloc ru li quiyehe' xban li profeta Isaías nak quixye chi jo'ca'in: Cuulaj cuulajeb chirabinquil ut inc'a' neque'xtau xyâlal. Ut cuulaj cuulajeb chirilbal ut inc'a' neque'xq'ue retal li c'a'ru neque'ril.
15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
15Li tenamit a'in xe'âlo' lix ch'ôleb ut chanchan tz'aptz'o lix xiqueb ut chanchaneb li mutz'. Jo'can nak inc'a' neque'xnau lix yâlal. Cui ta mâcua' jo'can, te'ilok raj ut te'xq'ue raj retal li te'ril ut te'abînk raj ut te'xtau raj ru li neque'rabi ut te'yot'ek' raj xch'ôl ut te'xjal raj xc'a'uxeb ut lâin tebinq'uirtesi raj. (Isa. 6:9-10)
16But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
16Us xak êre lâex xban nak nequex-iloc ut nequeq'ue retal li c'a'ru nequeril. Nequex-abin ut nequetau ru lix yâlal.
17For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
17Relic chi yâl tinye êre nak nabaleb li profeta ut nabaleb li tîqueb xch'ôl que'raj rilbal li c'a'ru yôquex chirilbal ut inc'a' que'ril. Ut que'raj rabinquil li c'a'ru yôquex chirabinquil ut inc'a' que'rabi.
18Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
18Abihomak lix yâlal li jaljôquil ru âtin a'in chirix laj acuinel.
19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
19Li ani na-abin re lix yâlal chirix lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios ut inc'a' naxtau ru, a'an chanchan li iyaj li quinak chire be. Ut laj tza nachal ut naxmak' chiru lix yâlal ut sa' junpât nasach sa' xch'ôl.
20But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
20Ut li iyaj li quinak sa' li pec ru li inc'a' quixchap xxe', a'aneb li neque'abin re li râtin li Dios ut sa' junpât neque'xpâb chi saheb sa' xch'ôleb.
21Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
21Abanan inc'a' nacana sa' xch'ôleb. Nak nachal junak raylal, malaj ch'a'ajquilal sa' xbêneb xban lix pâbâleb, inc'a' neque'xcuy xnumsinquil. Sa' junpât neque'ch'inan xch'ôl.
22He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
22Ut li iyaj li quinak sa' xyânk li q'uix, a'aneb li neque'abin re li râtin li Dios. Abanan ca'aj cui' li c'a'ak re ru cuan sa' ruchich'och' neque'xc'oxla, jo' li biomal ut xrâbal ru li c'a'ak chic re ru. Ut a'an li naramoc lix yâlal chiruheb. Mâc'a' na-oc cui' li râtin li Dios chiruheb.
23But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
24Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
24Ut quixye jun chic li jaljôquil ru âtin reheb li tenamit: Lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios chanchan jun li cuînk quirau li châbil riyajil li trigo sa' lix ch'och'.
25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
25Ut nak ac xe'cuar chixjunileb, quicuulac li xic' na-iloc re laj êchal re li ch'och' ut sa' xyânk li trigo coxrau chak li riyajil li yibru pim chanchan ajcui' li trigo ut cô.
26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
26Ut nak quimok chak li acuîmk ut quiûchin, tojo'nak quic'utun ajcui' li pim.
27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
27Que'cuulac ut eb laj c'anjel riq'uin laj êchal re li ch'och' ut que'xye: -Kâcua', ¿ma mâcua' châbil iyaj li xacuau sa' li ch'och'? ¿Bar put xchal li pim cuan chi sa'?-
28He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
28Ut a'an quixye reheb: -Jun li cuînk xic' na-iloc cue xbânun re a'in, chan. Ut eb laj c'anjel que'xye: -¿Ma tâcuaj toxic ut toxkamich'?-
29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
29Ut laj êchal re li ch'och' quixye: -Inc'a'. Mâre sa' xmich'bal li pim naru têmich' ajcui' li acuîmk.
30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
30Canabomak chi q'uîc chi xca'bichaleb toj sa' xk'ehil xsic'bal ru li trigo. Ut sa' xk'ehil li xsic'bal, tinye reheb laj sic'ol re: -Xocomak junxil li pim ut bac'omak chi jôb re xc'atbal. A'ut li trigo c'ûlahomak sa' li rochochil.-
31Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
31Li Jesús quixye jun chic li jaljôquil ru âtin reheb: Lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios, a'an chanchan li riyajil li nînki mostaza, li quixc'am jun li cuînk ut quirau sa' lix ch'och'.
32Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
32Li riyajil li mostaza coc' chiruheb chixjunil li iyaj cuan. Ut nak naq'ui, nînk chi us nacuulac. Naxk'ax xteram li acuîmk. Chanchan jun tôn li che' ut eb laj xic'anel xul neque'xyîb lix soc sa' eb li ruk'.
33Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
33Jun chic li jaljôquil ru âtin quixye: Jun li ixk quixq'ue ca'ch'in lix ch'amal caxlan cua sa' xyânk li oxib bisoc li c'aj ut quisîpo' li k'em xban, ut nabal chic li caxlan cua qui-el. Lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios chanchan ajcui' a'an. Nak neque'rabi resil, nabal neque'pâban re.
34All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
34Chixjunil a'in sa' jaljôquil ru âtin quixye li Jesús reheb li q'uila tenamit. Ut mâc'a' quixye reheb chi mâcua' ta sa' jaljôquil ru âtin.
35That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
35Nak quixbânu chi jo'can quitz'akloc ru li quixye li profeta nak quixye chi jo'ca'in: Tinâtinak riq'uineb sa' jaljôquil ru âtin. Tinch'olob xyâlal li c'a'ak re ru mukmu chak chalen sa' xticlajic li ruchich'och'. (Sal. 78:2)
36Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
36Ut nak quixchak'rabiheb li tenamit, li Jesús qui-oc sa' cab. Ut nak que'cuulac eb lix tzolom riq'uin, que'xye re: -Kâcua', ch'olob chiku lix yâlal li jaljôquil ru âtin chirix li yibru pim sa' li acuîmk, chanqueb.
37He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
37Quichak'oc li Jesús ut quixye reheb: -Li na-acuoc re li châbil iyaj, a'an lâin li C'ajolbej.
38The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
38Ut li ch'och', a'an li ruchich'och'. Ut li châbil iyaj, a'aneb li cuanqueb rubel xcuanquil li nimajcual Dios. Ut li yibru pim, a'aneb li cuanqueb rubel xcuanquil laj tza.
39The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
39Ut li xic' na-iloc, a'an li qui-acuoc re li yibru pim. A'an laj tza. Ut lix k'ehil xsic'bal ru li acuîmk, a'an li roso'jic li ruchich'och'. Ut eb laj sic'ol re, a'aneb lix ángel li Dios.
40As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
40Ut jo' ajcui' nak nach'utubâc ut nac'ate' sa' xam li pim, jo'can ajcui' nak toxrakek' li ruchich'och' a'in.
41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
41Lâin li C'ajolbej tintaklaheb chak lin ángel ut eb a'an tole'isînk reheb chixjunileb laj mâc sa' xyânkeb li cuanqueb rubel xnimajcual cuanquilal li Dios. Ut te'isîk ajcui' chixjunileb li neque'q'uehoc re chi mâcobc li tenamit.
42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
42Ut te'q'uehek' sa' li horno li lochlo cui' li xam. Ut aran tâcuânk li yâbac ut li c'uxuxînc ruch e xban li raylal li te'xc'ul.
43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
43Ut li tîqueb xch'ôl te'q'uehek' xlok'al. Chanchanakeb li sak'e sa' lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios lix Yucua'eb. Li ani na-abin re li yôquin chixyebal chixq'uehak retal chi us li ninye.
44Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
44Lix nimajcual cuanquilal li choxa, a'an chanchan li tumin mukbil sa' ch'och'. Quitauman xban jun li cuînk. Ut li cuînk a'an quixmuk cui'chic xca' sut li tumin. K'axal quisaho' sa' xch'ôl nak coxc'ayi chixjunil li c'a'ru cuan re ut quixlok' li ch'och' li mukmu cui' li tumin.
45Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
45Ut lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios, a'an chanchan ajcui' jun li cuînk aj yaconel li naxsic' li tertôquil pec perla xc'aba'.
46Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
46Ut nak quixtau jun li perla k'axal châbil, quixc'ayi chixjunil li c'a'ru cuan re ut quixlok' li perla li k'axal terto xtz'ak.
47Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
47Jo'can ajcui' lix nimajcual cuanquilal li Dios, a'an chanchan li yoy li quiq'ueman sa' li palau ut q'uila pây chi car quirisi chak.
48Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
48Ut nak quinujac, que'risi chire li ha' ut que'oc chixsic'bal ru li car. Li châbil que'xxoc ut que'xq'ue sa' li chacach ut li inc'a' us que'xtz'ek.
49So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
49Jo'can ajcui' tâuxmânk sa' roso'jic li ruchich'och'. Te'châlk eb li ángel ut a'an tole'isînk reheb li inc'a' useb xna'leb sa' xyânkeb li tîqueb xch'ôl.
50And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
50Ut te'q'uehek' li inc'a' useb xna'leb sa' li horno li lochlo cui' li xam. Ut aran tâcuânk li yâbac ut li c'uxuxînc ruch e xban li raylal li te'xc'ul.
51Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
51Li Jesús quixpatz' reheb: -¿Ma xetau xyâlal chixjunil li jaljôquil ru âtin a'in?- Eb a'an que'chak'oc ut que'xye re: -Kâcua', xkatau xyâlal, chanqueb.
52Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
52Li Jesús quixye reheb: -Jo'can nak chixjunileb li neque'xnau c'a'ru naxye sa' li chak'rab ut neque'xtzol rib cuiq'uin, eb a'an chanchaneb laj êchal cab li narisi sa' lix c'ûlebâl li c'a'ru ac' jo' ajcui' li c'a'ru k'el, chan li Jesús. (Quixye chi jo'can xban nak cuan xlok'al li na'leb q'uebil najter xban li Dios ut cuan ajcui' xlok'al li ac' na'leb q'uebil xban li Jesús.)
53And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.
53Ut nak quirake' xyebal li jaljôquil ru âtin a'in, li Jesús qui-el sa' li tenamit Capernaum.
54And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
54Ut nak quicuulac sa' lix tenamit Nazaret, quixtzoleb sa' li cab li neque'xch'utub cui' ribeb laj judío. Ut eb a'an que'sach xch'ôleb chirabinquil li quixye li Jesús, ut que'xye chi ribileb rib: -¿Bar naxtau lix na'leb li cuînk a'in? ¿Chanru nak naru xbânunquil li milagro a'in li nalajxbânu?
55Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
55¿Ma mâcua' ta bi' a'an li ralal laj pech'? ¿Ma mâcua' ta bi' lix María lix na'? Ut, ¿ma mâcua' ta bi' a'an li raseb laj Jacobo ut laj José, laj Simón ut laj Judas?
56And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
56Ut, ¿ma mâcua' ta bi' sa' kayânk cuanqueb li ranab? ¿Bar ta cui' xtau chixjunil lix na'leb? chanqueb.
57And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
57Ut inc'a' que'raj rabinquil ut que'xtz'ektâna. A' ut li Jesús quixye reheb: -Junak profeta q'uebil xlok'al. Abanan sa' lix tenamit ut sa' li rochoch inc'a' q'uebil xlok'al, chan.Ut inc'a' q'ui li milagros li quixbânu aran xban nak inc'a' que'raj pâbânc li tenamit.
58And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
58Ut inc'a' q'ui li milagros li quixbânu aran xban nak inc'a' que'raj pâbânc li tenamit.
