Matthew

15

1Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
1Jun ch'ol eb aj tz'îb rochbeneb laj fariseo que'chal chak Jerusalén. Que'cuulac riq'uin li Jesús ut que'xye re:
2Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
3Li Jesús quichak'oc ut quixye reheb: -Ut lâex, ¿c'a'ut nak nequek'et li chak'rab q'uebil êre xban li Dios riq'uin xbânunquil lê najter na'leb li c'aynakex chixbânunquil?
4For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
4Li Dios quixye: -Cha-oxlok'i lâ na' âyucua'. Ut quixye ajcui': -Ani tixhob xna' xyucua', li jun a'an camsinbil nak tâosok'. (Ex. 20:12; 21:17)
5But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
6Jo'can nak lâex nequetz'ektâna xcuanquil li chak'rab q'uebil xban li Dios ut a' chic lê najter na'leb nequebânu.
7Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
7Lâex aj ca' pac'al u. Yâl ajcui' li quixye li profeta Isaías chêrix lâex nak quixtz'îba li c'a'ru quiyehe' re xban li Dios nak quixye:
8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
8Li tenamit a'in niquine'xlok'oni ca'aj cui' riq'uin xtz'ûmal reheb. Moco neque'xbânu ta chi anchal xch'ôleb.
9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
9Mâc'a' rajbal nak niquine'xlok'oni xban nak li tijleb li neque'xc'ut a'an yal xchak'rabeb li cuînk. (Isa. 29:13)
10And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
10Ut li Jesús quixbokeb li tenamit riq'uin ut quixye reheb: -Abihomak chêjunilex li c'a'ru tinye ut q'uehomak retal re nak têtau xyâlal.
11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
11Mâcua' li c'a'ru naxtzaca li cuînk namâco' cui'; aban li c'a'ru inc'a' us naxc'oxla sa' xch'ôl, a'an li namâco' cui'.-
12Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
12Que'jiloc lix tzolom riq'uin li Jesús ut que'xye re: -¿Ma xaq'ue retal nak eb laj fariseo ra xe'rec'a nak xe'rabi li âtin li xaye?-
13But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
13Quichak'oc li Jesús ut quixye reheb: -Chixjunil li acuîmk inc'a' aubil xban lin Yucua' cuan sa' choxa, a'an tâmich'mânk.
14Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
14Canabomakeb. A'aneb mutz'eb ut neque'xberesiheb li mutz'. Ut cui li mutz' neque'xberesi li rech mutz'il, chi xca'bichaleb te't'anek' sa' jul.-
15Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
15A'ut laj Pedro quichak'oc ut quixye: -Bânu usilal, ch'olob chiku lix yâlal li jaljôquil ru âtin a'in.-
16And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
16Ut li Jesús quixye re: -¿Ma toj mâc'a' ajcui' êna'leb lâex?
17Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
17¿Ma toj mâji' nequetau xyâlal nak chixjunil li c'a'ru naxtzaca junak, a'an moco sa' xch'ôl ta naxic? Tîc sa' xsa' naxic ut chirix a'an naxtz'ek cui'chic.
18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
18Li inc'a' us na-el sa' xtz'ûmal re li junjûnk, a'an sa' lix ch'ôl nachal. Ut a'an a'in li namâco' cui'.
19For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
19Sa' lix ch'ôl junak nachal chak li mâus aj na'leb, li camsînc ras rîtz'in, li muxuc caxâr, li co'bêtac yumbêtac, li elk'ac, li k'abânc ut li majecuânc.
20These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
20Chixjunil li mâus aj na'leb a'in sa' xch'ôl junak nachal chak, ut a'an li namâco' cui' li junjûnk. Ut li cua'ac chi inc'a' ch'ajbil li uk'ej, mâcua' a'an li namâco' cui' li cuînk, chan.
21Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
21Ut qui-el aran li Jesús ut cô sa' eb li na'ajej xcuênt Tiro ut xcuênt Sidón.
22And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
23A'ut li Jesús mâ jun li âtin quixye re. Ut eb lix tzolom que'nach'oc riq'uin li Jesús ut que'xye re: -Kâcua', bânu li usilal re, re nak tixcanab xjapbal re, chanqueb.
24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
24Li Jesús quichak'oc ut quixye: -Mâ bar chic taklanbilin chak, ca'aj cui' riq'uineb laj Israel. Chanchaneb li carner sachenak, chan.
25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
25Ut li ixk quixcuik'ib rib chiru li Jesús ut quixye cui'chic: -Kâcua', chacuuxtâna taxak cuu.-
26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
26Li Jesús quichak'oc ut quixye re: -Inc'a' us xmak'bal xcuaheb li coc'al ut xq'uebal reheb li tz'i', chan li Jesús.
27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
27Ut li ixk quichak'oc ut quixye re: -Yâl li nacaye, Kâcua', abanan eb li tz'i' neque'xxoc xc'aj xcuaheb li coc'al li nat'ane' rubel li mêx nak yôqueb chi cua'ac, chan.
28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
28Ut li Jesús quixye re: -Kana', lâat relic chi yâl xatau ru lix yâlal ut chi anchal âch'ôl xatpâban. Chi-uxk li c'a'ru xatz'âma, chan. Ut sa' ajcui' li hônal a'an quiq'uira lix co'.
29And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
29Qui-el chak li Jesús aran, ut quinume' chire li palau Galilea sa' xna'ajeb li mâcua'eb aj judío. Tojo'nak quitake' chiru jun li tzûl ut aran quic'ojla.
30And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:
30Ut que'cuulac li q'uila tenamit riq'uin. Cuanqueb nabal li yaj li que'c'ame' riq'uin. Cuanqueb li yêk rok, cuanqueb li mutz', cuanqueb li mem ut li tokol ruk'eb, ut cuanqueb ajcui' nabaleb li yaj rochbeneb. Ut cole'q'uehek' chiru li Jesús ut a' yal c'a'ru lix yajel li junjûnk, li Jesús quixq'uirtesiheb.
31Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
32Ut li Jesús quixbokeb lix tzolom riq'uin ut quixye reheb: -Neque'cuil xtok'obâl ruheb li tenamit. Ac oxib cutan xchaliqueb chicuix ut mâc'a' xcuaheb. Naru neque'lub sa' be, chan.
33And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
33Ut eb lix tzolom que'xye re: -¿Bar takatau cua sa' li na'ajej a'in re takaq'ueheb chi cua'ac li q'uila tenamit a'in? Arin mâc'a' cuan, chanqueb.
34And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
34Ut li Jesús quixye reheb: -¿Jarub li caxlan cua cuan êriq'uin? chan. -Cuukub ajcui' li caxlan cua ut cuib oxib li coc' car, chanqueb re.
35And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
35Ut li Jesús quixtaklaheb li tenamit chi c'ojlâc chiru ch'och'.
36And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
36Ut quixchap li cuukub chi caxlan cua ut eb li car, quixbantioxi chiru li Dios ut quixjachi. Ut quixq'ue reheb lix tzolom re nak te'xjeq'ui reheb li tenamit.
37And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
37Que'cua'ac chixjunileb toj retal que'c'ojla xch'ôleb. Ut que'xc'ûla li qui-ela'an. Cuukub chacach nujenak li rela' xc'aj li caxlan cua li qui-ela'an.
38And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
38Ut eb li que'cua'ac, a'aneb câhib mil chi cuînk chi mâc'a'eb sa' ajl li ixk chi moco li coc'al.Nak ac quixchak'rabiheb li tenamit, li Jesús qui-oc cui'chic sa' li jucub ut cô cui'chic jun pac'al li palau sa' li na'ajej xcuênt Magdala.
39And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
39Nak ac quixchak'rabiheb li tenamit, li Jesús qui-oc cui'chic sa' li jucub ut cô cui'chic jun pac'al li palau sa' li na'ajej xcuênt Magdala.
