¹And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;

²When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,

²Eb li cuanqueb saß li tenamit Bet-el queßxtakla laj Sarezer ut laj Regem-melec rochbeneb nabaleb chic chixtzßâmanquil xtenkßanquileb chiru li Kâcuaß.

³And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

³Ut queßxye reheb li profeta ut reheb ajcuiß laj tij li nequeßcßanjelac saß lix templo li nimajcual Dios: —¿Ma toj yôko chi yâbac ut xbânunquil ka-ayûn joß cßaynako xbânunquil saß roß li po rajlal chihab? chanqueb.

⁴Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying,

⁴Ut quiâtinac cuißchic cuiqßuin li Kâcuaß li kßaxal nim xcuanquil ut quixye cue:

⁵Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?

⁵—Ye reheb chixjunileb li tenamit ut reheb ajcuiß laj tij chi joßcaßin: Yâl nak lâex xebânu lê ayûn ut xexyâbac saß li roß po ut saß li xcuuk po. Xebânu aßan rajlal chihab chiru lajêb xcâcßâl chihab. ¿Ma re xqßuebal ta biß inlokßal lâin nak xebânu aßan?

⁶And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

⁶¿Ma mâcuaß ta biß chokß êre ajcuiß lâex nak xexcuaßac ut xex-ucßac?

⁷Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?

⁷¿Ma mâcuaß ta biß aßin li râtin li Kâcuaß yebil chak êre xbaneb li profeta li queßcuan chak junxil nak toj nabaleb li cristian cuanqueb Jerusalén ut sa cuanqueb? Nabaleb ajcuiß li tenamit li cuanqueb chi nachß riqßuin Jerusalén. Ut nabaleb li cuanqueb saß li naßajej Neguev ut saß li ru takßa, chan li Kâcuaß.

⁸And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,

⁸Ut li Kâcuaß quiâtinac cuißchic riqßuin laj Zacarías ut quixye re:

⁹Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

⁹—Aßan aßin li ninye êre lâin: Tîcak êchßôl ut chexcuânk saß xyâlal. Châbilakex chi ribil êrib ut chex-uxtânânk u.

¹⁰And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

¹⁰Mêrahobtesiheb li xmâlcaßan chi moco li mâcßaß xnaß xyucuaß. Mêbânu raylal re li jalaneb xtenamit chi moco reheb li nebaß. Chi moco têcßoxla xbânunquil raylal reheb lê ras êrîtzßin, chan li Dios.

¹¹But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

¹¹Lê xeßtônil yucuaß incßaß queßraj xbânunquil li cßaßru quinye reheb. Queßxkßetkßeti ban ribeb. Incßaß queßraj rabinquil li cuâtin.—

¹²Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

¹²Queßxcacuubresi lix chßôleb. Chanchan li cacuil pec diamante xcßabaß. Ut incßaß queßraj rabinquil li âtin li musikßanbil xban li Kâcuaß, li quiyeheß reheb xbaneb li profeta junxil. Joßcan nak cßajoß nak quichal xjoskßil li nimajcual Dios saß xbêneb.

¹³Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:

¹³Quixye ajcuiß li Kâcuaß: —Nak lâin quinâtinac riqßuineb incßaß queßraj rabinquil li cßaßru quinye. Joßcan nak lâin incßaß ajcuiß xeßcuabi nak xeßxtzßâma xtenkßanquil chicuu.Chanchan xeßcßameß xban li ikß li naxsuti rib nak quinjeqßui ruheb yalak bar saß eb li jalan tenamit bar incßaß nequeßxnau. Ut lix naßajeb li queßel cuiß xcana chi mâcßaß chic cuan chi saß. Xcana joß jun chaki chßochß ut mâ ani chic naru nacuan aran. Kßaxal châbil raj li chßochß, abanan quicanabâc joß jun chaki chßochß.—

¹⁴But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.

¹⁴Chanchan xeßcßameß xban li ikß li naxsuti rib nak quinjeqßui ruheb yalak bar saß eb li jalan tenamit bar incßaß nequeßxnau. Ut lix naßajeb li queßel cuiß xcana chi mâcßaß chic cuan chi saß. Xcana joß jun chaki chßochß ut mâ ani chic naru nacuan aran. Kßaxal châbil raj li chßochß, abanan quicanabâc joß jun chaki chßochß.—
