¹My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

¹បងប្អូនអើយ កុំចង់ធ្វើគ្រូច្រើនគ្នាពេក ដ្បិតបងប្អូនជ្រាបស្រាប់ហើយថា ព្រះជាម្ចាស់វិនិច្ឆ័យទោសយើងជាគ្រូ យ៉ាងតឹងរ៉ឹងជាងគេ។

²For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

²យើងទាំងអស់គ្នាតែងតែធ្វើខុសជាច្រើន។ អ្នកណាឥតធ្វើខុស ដោយពាក្យសំដីអ្នកនោះជាមនុស្សគ្រប់លក្ខណៈ អាចត្រួតលើខ្លួនឯងទាំងមូលបាន។

³Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

³ប្រសិនបើយើងដាក់ដែកបង្ខាំក្នុងមាត់សេះ ដើម្បីអោយវាស្ដាប់បង្គាប់យើង នោះយើងអាចញាក់ខ្លួនវាទាំងមូល អោយទៅណាក៏បាន។

⁴Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

⁴សូមគិតពីសំពៅដែរ ទោះបីវាធំប៉ុនណា ហើយមានខ្យល់បក់មកខ្លាំងយ៉ាងណាក៏ដោយ ក៏អ្នកបើកសំពៅអាចបត់បែនបានតាមបំណងចិត្ដ ដោយសារចង្កូតដ៏តូចមួយ។

⁵Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

⁵រីឯអណ្ដាតក៏ដូច្នោះដែរ វាជាសរីរាង្គមួយតូចមែន តែពូកែធ្វើការសម្បើមណាស់។ មើលចុះ សូម្បីតែផ្កាភ្លើងមួយតូច ក៏អាចធ្វើអោយឆេះព្រៃមួយយ៉ាងធំបានដែរ!

⁶And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

⁶អណ្ដាតក៏ជាភ្លើងម៉្យាង ជាពិភពនៃអំពើទុច្ចរិត។ អណ្ដាតជាផ្នែកមួយក្នុងចំណោមសរីរាង្គរបស់យើង ដែលធ្វើអោយរូបកាយទាំងមូលទៅជាសៅហ្មង និង ធ្វើអោយដំណើរជីវិតរបស់យើងត្រូវខ្លោចផ្សា ព្រោះមានភ្លើងនរកនៅក្នុងអណ្ដាតនេះ។

⁷For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

⁷មនុស្សជាតិអាចផ្សាំងសត្វគ្រប់ប្រភេទបានទាំងអស់ទាំងសត្វព្រៃ ទាំងសត្វស្លាប ហើយសត្វលូនវារ សត្វនៅក្នុងទឹក ក៏មនុស្សផ្សំាងបានដែរ

⁸But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

⁸ប៉ុន្ដែគ្មានជនណាម្នាក់អាចផ្សំាងអណ្ដាតបានឡើយ ព្រោះវាជាគ្រឿងមួយដ៏ចង្រៃ ដែលចេះតែគន្លាស់ជានិច្ចពោរពេញទៅដោយពឹសពុល បណ្ដាលអោយស្លាប់ទៀតផង។

⁹Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

⁹ដោយសារអណ្ដាត យើងអរព្រះគុណព្រះអម្ចាស់ជាព្រះបិតា ហើយដោយសារអណ្ដាតដដែលយើងក៏ជេរប្រទេចផ្ដាសាមនុស្សដែលព្រះអង្គបានបង្កើតមក អោយមានលក្ខណៈដូចព្រះអង្គដែរ

¹⁰Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

¹⁰គឺទាំងពាក្យអរព្រះគុណ ទាំងពាក្យជេរប្រទេចផ្ដាសា ហូរចេញមកពីមាត់តែមួយ! បងប្អូនអើយ ធ្វើដូច្នេះមិនកើតទេ!។

¹¹Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

¹¹តើប្រភពទឹកអាចបង្ហូរចេញជាទឹកសាបផងជាទឹកភ្លាវផង ពីរន្ធតែមួយបានឬ?

¹²Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

¹²បងប្អូនអើយ ដើមឧទុម្ពរអាចអោយផ្លែជាអូលីវ ឬ ដើមទំពាំងបាយជូរអាចអោយផ្លែជា ឧទុម្ពរបានឬ? រន្ធទឹកប្រៃពុំអាចបង្ហូរចេញជាទឹកសាបបានឡើយ។

¹³Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

¹³ក្នុងចំណោមបងប្អូន បើអ្នកណាមានប្រាជ្ញា និង ចេះដឹង សូមសំដែងកិរិយាមារយាទរបស់ខ្លួនអោយអ្នកដទៃឃើញថា អំពើដែលខ្លួនប្រព្រឹត្ដសុទ្ធតែផុសចេញមកពីចិត្ដស្លូតបូត និង ពីប្រាជ្ញាទាំងស្រុង។

¹⁴But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

¹⁴ផ្ទុយទៅវិញ ប្រសិនបើបងប្អូនមានចិត្ដច្រណែនឈ្នានីស និង មានចិត្ដប្រណាំងប្រជែងគ្នានោះ សូមកុំអួតខ្លួន កុំកុហកទាស់នឹងសេចក្ដីពិតអោយសោះ។

¹⁵This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

¹⁵ប្រាជ្ញាបែបនេះ មិនមែនជាប្រាជ្ញាមកពីព្រះជាម្ចាស់ទេ គឺជាប្រាជ្ញារបស់លោកីយ៍ ប្រាជ្ញារបស់មនុស្ស និង ប្រាជ្ញារបស់អារក្ស

¹⁶For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

¹⁶ដ្បិតទីណាមានការច្រណែន ប្រណាំងប្រជែងគ្នា ទីនោះតែងតែមានការខ្វះសណ្ដាប់ធ្នាប់ និង មានរឿងអាស្រូវគ្រប់យ៉ាង។

¹⁷But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

¹⁷រីឯប្រាជ្ញាមកពីព្រះជាម្ចាស់វិញ ដំបូងបង្អស់ ជាប្រាជ្ញាបរិសុទ្ធ បន្ទាប់មកជាប្រាជ្ញាផ្ដល់សន្ដិភាព មានអធ្យាស្រ័យ ទុកចិត្ដគ្នាពោរពេញទៅដោយចិត្ដមេត្ដាករុណា និង បង្កើតផលល្អគ្រប់យ៉ាង ឥតមានលំអៀង ឥតមានពុតត្បុត។

¹⁸And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

¹⁸អស់អ្នកកសាងសន្ដិភាព តែងសាបព្រោះសន្ដិភាព ហើយច្រូតយកផលជាជីវិតសុចរិត ។
