¹But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

¹Bet par laiku un stundu, brāļi, mums nevajag jums rakstīt,

²For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

²Jo jūs paši labi zināt, ka Kunga diena nāks tāpat kā zaglis naktī.

³For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

³Kad tie sacīs: Ir miers un drošība, tad pēkšņi pār viņiem nāks bojāeja kā sāpes grūtniecei, un viņi neizbēgs.

⁴But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

⁴Bet jūs, brāļi, neesat tumsībā, ka šī diena kā zaglis varētu jūs pārsteigt,

⁵Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

⁵Jo jūs visi esat gaismas bērni un dienas bērni; mēs nepiederam ne naktij, ne tumsai.

⁶Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

⁶Tāpēc negulēsim kā pārējie, bet būsim nomodā un skaidrā prātā!

⁷For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

⁷Jo kas guļ, tie guļ naktī, un kas piedzeras, tie piedzeras naktī.

⁸But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁸Bet mēs, kas piederam dienai, tērpti ticības un mīlestības bruņās un pestīšanas cerības bruņu cepurē, būsim skaidrā prātā!

⁹For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁹Jo Dievs mūs nav nolēmis dusmām, bet gan pestīšanas iegūšanai caur mūsu Kungu Jēzu Kristu,

¹⁰Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹⁰Kas mūsu dēļ nomira, lai mēs, vai nu esam nomodā, vai aizmiguši, dzīvotu vienībā ar Viņu.

¹¹Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

¹¹Tāpēc ieprieciniet viens otru un stipriniet cits citu, kā jūs arī to darāt!

¹²And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

¹²Bet mēs jūs lūdzam, brāļi, esiet atzinīgi pret tiem, kas jūsu labā strādā, kas Kunga vārdā ir jūsu priekšnieki un kas jūs pamāca.

¹³And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

¹³Viņu darbu dēļ mīliet tos vissirsnīgāk un dzīvojiet ar viņiem mierā!

¹⁴Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

¹⁴Bet mēs jūs lūdzam, brāļi, brīdiniet nemierīgos, ieprieciniet mazdūšīgos, palīdziet slimajiem, esiet pacietīgi ar visiem!

¹⁵See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

¹⁵Pielūkojiet, lai kāds neatmaksātu otram ļaunu ar ļaunu, bet vienmēr centieties cits citam un visiem darīt labu!

¹⁶Rejoice evermore.

¹⁶Vienmēr esiet priecīgi!

¹⁷Pray without ceasing.

¹⁷Lūdziet Dievu bez mitēšanās!

¹⁸In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

¹⁸Par visu esiet pateicīgi, jo tāds ir Dieva prāts Jēzū Kristū attiecībā uz jums visiem.

¹⁹Quench not the Spirit.

¹⁹Neizdzēsiet garu!

²⁰Despise not prophesyings.

²⁰Neniciniet pravietojumus!

²¹Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

²¹Pārbaudiet visu! To, kas labs - paturiet!

²²Abstain from all appearance of evil.

²²Izvairieties pat no ļaunuma ēnas!

²³And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³Bet pats miera Dievs lai jūs svētī vispilnīgāk, lai jūsu gars, dvēsele un miesa pilnīgi bez vainas tiktu uzglabāti mūsu Kunga Jēzus Kristus atnākšanai!

²⁴Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

²⁴Uzticams ir tas, kas jūs aicinājis. Viņš arī izpildīs!

²⁵Brethren, pray for us.

²⁵Brāļi, lūdziet Dievu par mums!

²⁶Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

²⁶Sveiciniet visus brāļus ar svētu skūpstu!

²⁷I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

²⁷Dieva vārdā es jums piekodinu, lai šī vēstule tiktu lasīta visiem svētajiem brāļiem.

²⁸The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
