¹Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.

²And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.

²Un tie, redzēdami dažus no Viņa mācekļiem netīrām, tas ir, nemazgātām rokām maizi ēdam, ņēma to ļaunā.

³For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

³Jo farizeji un visi jūdi neēd, pirms tie, turēdamies pie senču ieražām, nav vairākkārt nomazgājuši rokas.

⁴And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.

⁴Un tie, pārnākuši no tirgus, neēd, kamēr nav mazgājušies; un ir vēl daudz cita, kas tiem uzdots pildīt: kā biķeru, krūžu, vara trauku un guļamvietu mazgāšana.

⁵Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

⁵Un farizeji un rakstu mācītāji jautāja Viņam: Kāpēc Tavi mācekļi nedzīvo pēc senču ieražām, bet ēd maizi, nemazgājuši rokas?

⁶He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

⁶Bet Viņš tiem atbildēja un sacīja: Isajs labi pravietojis par jums, liekuļiem, kā ir rakstīts: Šī tauta godina mani lūpām, bet viņu sirdis ir tālu no manis.

⁷Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

⁷Velti viņi mani cienī, mācot cilvēku mācības un likumus. (Is.29,13)

⁸For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

⁸Dieva bausli atmetuši, jūs pildāt cilvēku ieražas: krūžu un kausu mazgāšanas un daudz ko citu šim līdzīgu jūs darāt.

⁹And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

⁹Un Viņš tiem sacīja: Vai labi, ka jūs Dieva bausli padarāt nesaistošu, lai pildītu savas ieražas?

¹⁰For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

¹⁰Jo Mozus saka: Godā savu tēvu un māti! Un kas nolād tēvu un māti, tam būs mirt.

¹¹But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

¹¹Bet jūs sakāt: Ja kāds sacītu tēvam un mātei: Korban, tas ir: Upura dāvana lai būs tas, kas tev no manis varētu par labu nākt,

¹²And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

¹²Tad jūs neļaujat viņam vairs nekā darīt sava tēva un mātes labā,

¹³Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

¹³Atceldami Dieva vārdu ar jūsu ieražām, ko jūs esat ieveduši. Un daudz šim līdzīga jūs darāt.

¹⁴And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:

¹⁴Un atkal Viņš, pieaicinājis ļaudis, tiem sacīja: Klausieties mani visi un saprotiet!

¹⁵There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

¹⁵Nekas cilvēku nevar sagānīt, kas no ārienes viņā ieiet, bet kas no cilvēka iziet, tas ir, kas cilvēku apgāna.

¹⁶If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

¹⁶Ja kam ir ausis dzirdēšanai, lai dzird!

¹⁷And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

¹⁷Un kad Viņš aizgāja no ļaudīm namā, Viņa mācekļi jautāja Viņam par šo līdzību.

¹⁸And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

¹⁸Un Viņš tiem sacīja: Tā arī jūs vēl esat neprašas? Vai jūs nesaprotat, ka viss, kas no ārienes ieiet cilvēkā, nevar to apgānīt?

¹⁹Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

¹⁹Jo tas neieiet viņa sirdī, bet nonāk vēderā un iziet laukā, tīrīdams katru barību.

²⁰And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

²⁰Bet Viņš sacīja: Kas no cilvēka iziet, tas apgāna cilvēku.

²¹For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

²¹Jo no iekšienes, no cilvēka sirds iziet ļaunās domas, laulības pārkāpšana, nešķīstības, slepkavības.

²²Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

²²Zādzības, mantkārība, blēdības, viltība, nekaunība, skaudīga acs, Dieva zaimošana, lepnība, vieglprātība.

²³All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

²³Visi šie ļaunumi iziet no iekšienes; un tie apgāna cilvēku.

²⁴And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.

²⁴Un Viņš cēlies aizgāja no turienes uz Tiras un Sidonas apgabalu; un, iegājis kādā namā, Viņš vēlējās, lai neviens to nezinātu; bet Viņš nevarēja palikt apslēpts.

²⁵For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

²⁵Un tūdaļ kāda sieviete, kuras meitiņa bija ļaunā gara apsēsta, izdzirdusi par Viņu, iegāja un krita pie Viņa kājām.

²⁶The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

²⁶Bet šī sieviete bija pagāniete, pēc dzimuma sirofeniķiete. Un tā lūdza Viņu, lai Viņš izdzen ļauno garu no viņas meitas.

²⁷But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

²⁷Viņš tai sacīja: Pagaidi, lai vispirms bērni tiek paēdināti, jo nav labi atņemt maizi bērniem un nomest to sunīšiem.

²⁸And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

²⁸Bet tā atbildēja un sacīja Viņam: Jā gan, Kungs, jo arī sunīši ēd zem galda no bērnu druskām.

²⁹And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

²⁹Un Viņš tai sacīja: Šī vārda dēļ ej! Ļaunais gars ir izgājis no tavas meitas.

³⁰And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

³⁰Un tā, nogājusi savās mājās, atrada meitiņu gultā guļam; un ļaunais gars viņu bija atstājis.

³¹And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

³¹Un atkal Viņš, izgājis no Tiras robežām, nāca caur Sidonu pie Galilejas jūras desmit pilsētu robežās.

³²And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

³²Un pie Viņa atveda kurlmēmo un lūdza Viņu, lai Viņš tam uzliek roku.

³³And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

³³Un Viņš, paņēmis to savrup no ļaudīm, ielika savus pirkstus tā ausīs; un Viņš izspļāvis aizskāra tā mēli.

³⁴And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

³⁴Un Viņš, pacēlis acis pret debesīm, nopūtās un sacīja tam: Efeta, tas ir: atveries!

³⁵And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

³⁵Un tūdaļ viņa ausis atvērās, un viņa mēles saite atraisījās, un viņš runāja pareizi.

³⁶And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

³⁶Un Viņš tiem pavēlēja par to nevienam nesacīt. Bet jo vairāk Viņš liedza, jo vairāk tie sludināja.

³⁷And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

³⁷Un jo vairāk tie brīnījās, sacīdami: Viņš visu labi darījis: kurliem deva dzirdi un mēmiem - spējas runāt.
