¹Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

²Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

²Nambolenao izy, ka dia miorim-paka; Mitombo izy, ka dia mamoa; Manakaiky Anao amin'ny vavany izy, nefa manalavitra Anao amin'ny fony.[Heb. voany]

³But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

³Fa Hianao, Jehovah ô, mahalala ahy; Mahita ahy Hianao sady mizaha toetra ny foko ny aminao; Sariho toy ny ondry hovonoina ireny, ary atokàny ho amin'ny andro hamonoana.[Heb. hamasino]

⁴How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.

⁴Mandra-pahoviana no hisaonan'ny tany sy hahalazoan'ny ahitra any amin'ny saha rehetra? Noho ny faharatsian'ny mponina any dia lany ringana ny biby sy ny vorona; Fa hoy ireo: Tsy mba hahita izay hiafarantsika izy.

⁵If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

⁵Raha niara-nihazakazaka tamin'ny mandeha an-tongotra ianao ka voany, dia hataonao ahoana no fihaika ny soavaly? Ary raha eny amin'ny tany miadana no anananao toky, hanao ahoana kosa ianao, raha mby any amin'ny kirihitrala eny amoron'i Jordana?[Heb. ny reharehany]

⁶For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

⁶Fa na dia ny rahalahinao sy ny mpianakavin'ny rainao aza dia samy namitaka anao; Eny, niantso mafy teo aorianao ireo; Aza mino azy, na dia tsara fiteny aminao aza izy.

⁷I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

⁷Nilaozako ny tranoko, nafoiko ny lovako; Ny sombin'aiko dia natolotro ho eo an-tànan'ny fahavalony.

⁸Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

⁸Raha amiko, ny lovako dia efa toy ny liona any an'ala; Mierona amiko izy, ka dia halako.

⁹Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

⁹Moa tahaka ny vorona mpihaza hafahafa volo amiko va ny lovako, no mivory manodidina azy ny vorona mpihaza? Avia, ka angòny ny bibi-dia rehetra, ampanatony ireny hihinana.

¹⁰Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

¹⁰Mpitondra maro no nanimba ny tanim-boaloboko, nohitsakitsahiny ny anjarako; Nataony tany efitra lao ny anjarako mahafinaritra;

¹¹They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

¹¹Nataony lao izany, eny, lao izy ka mitomany amiko; Nataony lao avokoa ny tany rehetra, satria tsy nisy nandatsaka am-po.

¹²The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

¹²Ny mpandrava dia tonga any amin'ny tendrombohitra mangadihady rehetra any an-efitra; Fa misy sabatr'i Jehovah mandringana amin'ny faran'ny tany ka hatramin'ny farany koa, ka dia tsy misy fiadanana ho an'ny nofo rehetra.

¹³They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

¹³Vary no nafafiny, fa tsilo no nojinjany; Nanasatra ny tenany izy, kanjo herim-po very foana izany; Dia hangaihay ny amin'ny zavatra azonareo ianareo noho ny firehetan'ny fahatezeran'i Jehovah.

¹⁴Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

¹⁴Izao no lazain'i Jehovah ny amin'ireo ratsy fanahy rehetra mifanakaiky fonenena amiko ireo, dia izay mikasikasika ny tany nomeko ho lovan'ny Isiraely oloko: Indro, hongotako tsy ho amin'ny taniny ireo, ary ny taranak'i Joda koa dia hongotako tsy ho eo aminy.

¹⁵And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

¹⁵Nefa nony efa voaongotra izy, dia hamindra fo aminy indray Aho, ka samy ho entiko mody any amin'ny lovany sy ny taniny avy indray izy.

¹⁶And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

¹⁶Koa raha mba hianatra ny fanaon'ny oloko tokoa ireo ka hianiana amin'ny anarako hoe: Raha velona koa Jehovah, tahaka ny nampianaran'ireo ny oloko hianiana amin'i Bala, dia haorina ao amin'ny oloko izy;Fa raha tsy hankatò kosa izy, dia hongotako izany firenena izany, eny, hongotako sy haringako izy, hoy Jehovah.

¹⁷But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.
