1Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
1സ്നേഹം ആചരിപ്പാന് ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിന് ! ആത്മികവരങ്ങളും വിശേഷാല് പ്രവചനവരവും വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിന് .
2For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
2അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് മനുഷ്യരോടല്ല ദൈവത്തോടത്രേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ആരും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; എങ്കിലും അവന് ആത്മാവില് മര്മ്മങ്ങളെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.
3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
3പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവനോ ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കും പ്രബോധനത്തിന്നും ആശ്വാസത്തിന്നുമായി മനുഷ്യരോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.
4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
4അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് തനിക്കുതാന് ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു; പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവന് സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു.
5I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
5നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നും വിശേഷാല് പ്രവചിക്കേണം എന്നും ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവന് അവനെക്കാള് വലിയവന് .
6Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
6സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാന് വെളിപ്പാടായിട്ടോ ജ്ഞാനമായിട്ടോ പ്രവചനമായിട്ടോ ഉപദേശമായിട്ടോ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കാതെ അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം വരും?
7And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
7കുഴല്, വീണ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നാദം കൊടുക്കുന്ന നിര്ജ്ജീവസാധനങ്ങള് തന്നേയും നാദഭേദം കാണിക്കാഞ്ഞാല് ഊതിയതോ മീട്ടിയതോ എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും?
8For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
8കാഹളം തെളിവില്ലാത്ത നാദം കൊടുത്താല് പടെക്കു ആര് ഒരുങ്ങും?
9So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
9അതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും നാവുകൊണ്ടു തെളിവായ വാക്കു ഉച്ചരിക്കാഞ്ഞാല് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും? നിങ്ങള് കാറ്റിനോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നവര് ആകുമല്ലോ.
10There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
10ലോകത്തില് വിവിധ ഭാഷകള് അനവധി ഉണ്ടു; അവയില് ഒന്നും തെളിവില്ലാത്തതല്ല.
11Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.
11ഞാന് ഭാഷ അറിയാഞ്ഞാല് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഞാന് ബര്ബ്ബരന് ആയിരിക്കും; സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് എനിക്കും ബര്ബ്ബരന് ആയിരിക്കും.
12Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
12അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും ആത്മവരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വാഞ്ഛയുള്ളവരാകയാല് സഭയുടെ ആത്മിക വര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി സഫലന്മാര് ആകുവാന് ശ്രമിപ്പിന് .
13Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
13അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് വ്യാഖ്യാനവരത്തിന്നായി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കട്ടെ.
14For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
14ഞാന് അന്യഭാഷയില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ ആത്മാവു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയോ അഫലമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
15What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
15ആകയാല് എന്തു? ഞാന് ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പാടും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പാടും.
16Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
16അല്ല, നീ ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലിയാല് ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവന് നീ പറയുന്നതു തിരിയാതിരിക്കെ നിന്റെ സ്തോത്രത്തിന്നു എങ്ങനെ ആമേന് പറയും?
17For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
17നീ നന്നായി സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലുന്നു സത്യം; മറ്റവന്നു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുന്നില്ലതാനും.
18I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
18നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരിലും അധികം ഞാന് അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.
19Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
19എങ്കിലും സഭയില് പതിനായിരം വാക്കു അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അധികം മറ്റുള്ളവരെയും പഠിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചുവാക്കു പറവാന് ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.
20Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
20സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ബുദ്ധിയില് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള് ആകരുതു; തിന്മെക്കു ശിശുക്കള് ആയിരിപ്പിന് ; ബുദ്ധിയിലോ മുതിര്ന്നവരാകുവിന് .
21In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
21“അന്യഭാഷകളാലും അന്യന്മാരുടെ അധരങ്ങളാലും ഞാന് ഈ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കും എങ്കിലും അവര് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
22Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
22അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷകള് അടയാളമായിരിക്കുന്നതു വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കല്ല, അവിശ്വാസികള്ക്കത്രേ; പ്രവചനമോ അവിശ്വാസികള്ക്കല്ല, വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കു തന്നേ.
23If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
23സഭ ഒക്കെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവരോ അവിശ്വാസികളോ അകത്തു വന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?
24But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
24എല്ലാവരും പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അവിശ്വാസിയോ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവനോ അകത്തു വന്നാല് എല്ലാവരുടെ വാക്കിനാലും അവന്നു പാപബോധം വരും; അവന് എല്ലാവരാലും വിവേചിക്കപ്പെടും.
25And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
25അവന്റെ ഹൃദയരഹസ്യങ്ങളും വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരും; അങ്ങനെ അവന് കവിണ്ണുവീണു, ദൈവം വാസ്തവമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കും.
26How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
26ആകയാല് എന്തു? സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള് കൂടിവരുമ്പോള് ഔരോരുത്തന്നു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം ഉണ്ടു, ഉപദേശം ഉണ്ടു, വെളിപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടു, അന്യഭാഷ ഉണ്ടു, വ്യഖ്യാനം ഉണ്ടു, സകലവും ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി ഉതകട്ടെ.
27If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
27അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് രണ്ടു പേരോ ഏറിയാല് മൂന്നുപേരോ ആകട്ടെ; അവര് ഔരോരുത്തനായി സംസാരിക്കയും ഒരുവന് വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.
28But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
28വ്യാഖ്യാനി ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് അന്യഭാഷക്കാരന് സഭയില് മിണ്ടാതെ തന്നോടും ദൈവത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ.
29Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
29പ്രവാചകന്മാര് രണ്ടു മൂന്നു പേര് സംസാരിക്കയും മറ്റുള്ളവര് വിവേചിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.
30If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
30ഇരിക്കുന്നവനായ മറ്റൊരുവന്നു വെളിപ്പാടുണ്ടായാലോ ഒന്നാമത്തവന് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.
31For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
31എല്ലാവരും പഠിപ്പാനും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനുമായി നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഔരോരുത്തനായി പ്രവചിക്കാമല്ലോ.
32And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
32പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാക്കള് പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
33ദൈവം കലക്കത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ല സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമത്രേ.
34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
34വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ സര്വ്വസഭകളിലും എന്നപോലെ സ്ത്രീകള് സഭായോഗങ്ങളില് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; ന്യായപ്രമാണവും പറയുന്നതുപോലെ കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനല്ലാതെ സംസാരിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും അനുവാദമില്ല.
35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
35അവര് വല്ലതും പഠിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് വീട്ടില്വെച്ചു ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടേ; സ്ത്രീ സഭയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു അനുചിതമല്ലോ.
36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
36ദൈവവചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നോ പുറപ്പെട്ടതു? അല്ല, നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മാത്രമോ വന്നതു?
37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
37താന് പ്രവാചകന് എന്നോ ആത്മികന് എന്നോ ഒരുത്തന്നു തോന്നുന്നു എങ്കില്, ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എഴുതുന്നതു കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കല്പന ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.
38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
38ഒരുവന് അറിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അവന് അറിയാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.
39Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
39അതുകൊണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരേ, പ്രവചനവരം വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിന് ; അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു വിലക്കുകയുമരുതു. സകലവും ഉചിതമായും ക്രമമായും നടക്കട്ടെ.
40Let all things be done decently and in order.
