1And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.
1അനന്തരം ഹന്നാ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്എന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയില് ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കൊമ്പു യഹോവയാല് ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വായ് ശത്രുക്കളുടെ നേരെ വിശാലമാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ രക്ഷയില് ഞാന് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.
2There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
2യഹോവയെപ്പോലെ പരിശുദ്ധന് ഇല്ല; നീ അല്ലാതെ ഒരുത്തനുമില്ലല്ലോ; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പാറയും ഇല്ല.
3Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
3ഡംഭിച്ചു ഡംഭിച്ചു ഇനി സംസാരിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ വായില്നിന്നു അഹങ്കാരം പുറപ്പെടരുതു. യഹോവ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള ദൈവം; അവന് പ്രവൃത്തികളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.
4The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.
4വീരന്മാരുടെ വില്ലു ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു; ഇടറിയവരോ ബലം ധരിക്കുന്നു.
5They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
5സമ്പന്നര് ആഹാരത്തിന്നായി കൂലിക്കു നിലക്കുന്നു; വിശന്നവര് വിശ്രമം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; മച്ചി ഏഴു പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; പുത്രസമ്പന്നയോ ക്ഷയിച്ചു പോകുന്നു.
6The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
6യഹോവ കൊല്ലുകയും ജീവിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. പാതാളത്തില് ഇറക്കുകയും ഉദ്ധരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു;
7The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
7യഹോവ ദാരിദ്ര്യവും ഐശ്വര്യവും നലകുന്നു; അവന് താഴ്ത്തുകയും ഉയര്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
8He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.
8അവന് ദരിദ്രനെ പൊടിയില്നിന്നു നിവിര്ത്തുന്നു; അഗതിയെ കുപ്പയില്നിന്നു ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുത്തുവാനും മഹിമാസനം അവകാശമായി നലകുവാനും തന്നേ. ഭൂധരങ്ങള് യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവ; ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തെ അവയുടെമേല് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
9He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
9തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ കാലുകളെ അവന് കാക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് അന്ധകാരത്തില് മിണ്ടാതെയാകുന്നു; സ്വശക്തിയാല് ഒരുത്തനും ജയിക്കയില്ല.
10The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
10യഹോവയോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നവന് തകര്ന്നുപോകുന്നു; അവന് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു അവരുടെമേല് ഇടി വെട്ടിക്കുന്നു. യഹോവ ഭൂസീമാവാസികളെ വിധിക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ രാജാവിന്നു ശക്തി കൊടുക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്റെ കൊമ്പു ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു.
11And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.
11പിന്നെ എല്ക്കാനാ രാമയില് തന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി. ബാലന് പുരോഹിതനായ ഏലിയുടെ മുമ്പില് യഹോവേക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്തു പോന്നു.
12Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.
12എന്നാല് ഏലിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് നീചന്മാരും യഹോവയെ ഔര്ക്കാത്തവരും ആയിരുന്നു.
13And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;
13ഈ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ജനത്തോടു ആചരിച്ച വിധം എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്വല്ലവരും ഒരു യാഗം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് മാംസം വേവിക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു പുരോഹിതന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് കയ്യില് മുപ്പല്ലിയുമായി വന്നു
14And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.
14കലത്തിലോ ഉരുളിയിലോ കുട്ടകത്തിലോ ചട്ടിയിലോ കുത്തും; മുപ്പല്ലിയില് പിടിച്ചതൊക്കെയും പുരോഹിതന് എടുത്തുകൊള്ളും. ശീലോവില് വരുന്ന എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്യരോടും അവര് അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യും.
15Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.
15മേദസ്സു ദഹിപ്പിക്കുംമുമ്പെ പുരോഹിതന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് വന്നു യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവനോടുപുരോഹിതന്നു വറുപ്പാന് മാംസം തരിക; പച്ചമാംസമല്ലാതെ വേവിച്ചതു അവന് വാങ്ങുകയില്ല എന്നു പറയും.
16And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.
16മേദസ്സു ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകഴിയട്ടെ; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം എടുത്തുകൊള്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് അവനോടുഅല്ല, ഇപ്പോള് തന്നേ തരേണം; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് ബലാല്ക്കാരേണ എടുക്കും എന്നു പറയും.
17Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.
17ഇങ്ങനെ ആ യൌവനക്കാര് യഹോവയുടെ വഴിപാടു നിന്ദിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ പാപം യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ഏറ്റവും വലിയതായിരുന്നു.
18But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
18ശമൂവേല് എന്ന ബാലനോ പഞ്ഞിനൂല്കൊണ്ടുള്ള അങ്കി ധരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.
19Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
19അവന്റെ അമ്മ ആണ്ടുതോറും ഒരു ചെറിയ അങ്കി ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്റെ ഭര്ത്താവിനോടുകൂടെ വര്ഷാന്തരയാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് വരുമ്പോള് അവന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും.
20And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.
20എന്നാല് ഏലി എല്ക്കാനയെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; ഈ സ്ത്രീ യഹോവേക്കു കഴിച്ച നീവേദ്യത്തിന്നു പകരം യഹോവ അവളില് നിന്നു നിനക്കു സന്തതിയെ നലകുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി.
21And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
21യഹോവ ഹന്നയെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; അവള് ഗര്ഭംധരിച്ചു മൂന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരെയും പ്രസവിച്ചു. ശമൂവേല്ബാലനോ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് വളര്ന്നുവന്നു.
22Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
22ഏലി വൃദ്ധനായാറെ അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടും ചെയ്യുന്നതൊക്കെയും സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് സേവ ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്കുന്നതും അവന് കേട്ടു.
23And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.
23അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഈവക ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഈ ജനമൊക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു ഞാന് കേള്ക്കുന്നു.
24Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD's people to transgress.
24അങ്ങനെ അരുതു, എന്റെ മക്കളേ, യഹോവയുടെ ജനം നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പരത്തുന്നതായി ഞാന് കേള്ക്കുന്ന കേള്വി നന്നല്ല.
25If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.
25മനുഷ്യന് മനുഷ്യനോടു പാപം ചെയ്താല് അവന്നു വേണ്ടി ദൈവത്തോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കാം; മനുഷ്യന് യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്താലോ അവന്നു വേണ്ടി ആര് അപേക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എങ്കിലും അവരെ കൊല്ലുവാന് യഹോവ നിശ്ചയിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് അപ്പന്റെ വാക്കു കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല.
26And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favor both with the LORD, and also with men.
26ശമൂവേല്ബാലനോ വളരുന്തോറും യഹോവേക്കും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും പ്രീതിയുള്ളവനായി വളര്ന്നു.
27And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?
27അനന്തരം ഒരു ദൈവപുരുഷന് ഏലിയുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനം മിസ്രയീമില് ഫറവോന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു അടിമകളായിരുന്നപ്പോള് ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും വെളിപ്പെട്ടു നിശ്ചയം.
28And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?
28എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് കയറുവാനും ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ഏഫോദ് ധരിപ്പാനും ഞാന് അവനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രത്തില്നിന്നും എനിക്കു പുരോഹിതനായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു; യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സകലദഹനയാഗങ്ങളെയും ഞാന് നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നു കൊടുത്തു.
29Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honorest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?
29തിരുനിവാസത്തില് അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള എന്റെ യാഗവും വഴിപാടും നിങ്ങള് ചവിട്ടുകയും എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ എല്ലാവഴിപാടുകളിലും പ്രധാനഭാഗംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കൊഴുപ്പിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നീ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ എന്നെക്കാള് ബഹുമാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?
30Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
30ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിന്റെ ഭവനവും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നിത്യം പരിചരിക്കുമെന്നു ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു നിശ്ചയം; ഇപ്പോഴോ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതുഅങ്ങനെ ഒരിക്കലും ആകയില്ല; എന്നെ മാനിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് മാനിക്കും; എന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവര് നിന്ദിതരാകും.
31Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.
31നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒരു വൃദ്ധനും ഉണ്ടാകാതവണ്ണം ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഭുജവും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്റെ ഭുജവും തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്ന നാളുകള് ഇതാ വരുന്നു.
32And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.
32യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ലഭിപ്പാനുള്ള എല്ലാനന്മകളുടെയും മദ്ധ്യേ നീ തിരുനിവാസത്തില് ഒരു പ്രതിയോഗിയെ കാണും; നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒരുനാളും ഒരു വൃദ്ധന് ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല.
33And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.
33നിന്റെ കണ്ണു ക്ഷയിപ്പിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം വ്യസനിപ്പിപ്പാനും ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒരുത്തനെ എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തില് നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയാതെ വെച്ചേക്കും; നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലെ സന്താനമൊക്കെയും പുരുഷപ്രായത്തില് മരിക്കും.
34And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.
34നിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരായ ഹൊഫ്നിക്കും ഫീനെഹാസിന്നും ഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു ഒരു അടയാളം ആകും; അവര് ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദിവസത്തില് തന്നേ മരിക്കും.
35And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
35എന്നാല് എന്റെ പ്രസാദവും ഹിതവും അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വിശ്വസ്തപുരോഹിതനെ ഞാന് എനിക്കു എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും; അവന്നു ഞാന് സ്ഥിരമായോരു ഭവനം പണിയും; അവന് എന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിത്യം പരിചരിക്കും.
36And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.
36നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നും ഒരു അപ്പത്തിന്നുമായിട്ടു അവനെ കുമ്പിട്ടുഒരു കഷണം അപ്പം തിന്മാന് ഇടവരേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ ഒരു പുരോഹിതന്റെ വേലെക്കാക്കേണമേ എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കും.
