1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
1സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ എഴുതിയറിയിപ്പാന് ആവശ്യമില്ല.
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
2കള്ളന് രാത്രിയില് വരുമ്പോലെ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാള് വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ നന്നായി അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
3അവര് സമാധാനമെന്നും നിര്ഭയമെന്നും പറയുമ്പോള് ഗര്ഭിണിക്കു പ്രസവ വേദന വരുമ്പോലെ അവര്ക്കും പെട്ടെന്നു നാശം വന്നു ഭവിക്കും; അവര്ക്കും തെറ്റിയൊഴിയാവതുമല്ല.
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
4എന്നാല് സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ആനാള് കള്ളന് എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള് ഇരുട്ടിലുള്ളവരല്ല;
5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
5നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കളും പകലിന്റെ മക്കളും ആകുന്നു; നാം രാത്രിക്കും ഇരുളിന്നുമുള്ളവരല്ല.
6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
6ആകയാല് നാം ശേഷമുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ ഉറങ്ങാതെ ഉണര്ന്നും സുബോധമായുമിരിക്ക.
7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
7ഉറങ്ങുന്നവര് രാത്രിയില് ഉറങ്ങുന്നു. മദ്യപിക്കുന്നവര് രാത്രിയില് മദ്യപിക്കുന്നു.
8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
8നാമോ പകലിന്നുള്ളവരാകയാല് വിശ്വാസവും സ്നേഹവും എന്ന കവചവും ശിരസ്ത്രമായി രക്ഷയുടെ പ്രത്യാശയും ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സുബോധമായിരിക്ക.
9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
9ദൈവം നമ്മെ കോപത്തിന്നല്ല,
10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
10നാം ഉണര്ന്നിരുന്നാലും ഉറങ്ങിയാലും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം രക്ഷയെ പ്രാപിപ്പാനത്രേ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.
11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
11ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്തുവരുന്നതുപോലെ അന്യോന്യം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും തമ്മില് ആത്മിക വര്ദ്ധനവരുത്തിയും പോരുവിന് .
12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
12സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കയും കര്ത്താവില് നിങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരുടെ വേലനിമിത്തം
13And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
13ഏറ്റവും സ്നേഹത്തോടെ വിചാരിക്കേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. തമ്മില് സമാധാനമായിരിപ്പിന് .
14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
14സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുക്രമം കെട്ടവരെ ബുദ്ധിയുപദേശിപ്പിന് ഉള്ക്കരുത്തില്ലാത്തവരെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുവിന് ; ബലഹീനരെ താങ്ങുവിന് ; എല്ലാവരോടും ദീര്ഘക്ഷമ കാണിപ്പിന് .
15See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
15ആരും തിന്മകൂ പകരം തിന്മ ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് നോക്കുവിന് ; തമ്മിലും എല്ലാവരോടും എപ്പോഴും നന്മ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിപ്പിന് ;
16Rejoice evermore.
16എപ്പോഴും സന്തോഷിപ്പിന് ;
17Pray without ceasing.
17ഇടവിടാതെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന്
18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
18എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വിന് ; ഇതല്ലോ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവില് ദൈവേഷ്ടം.
19Quench not the Spirit.
19ആത്മാവിനെ കെടുക്കരുതു.
20Despise not prophesyings.
20പ്രവചനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു.
21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
21സകലവും ശോധന ചെയ്തു നല്ലതു മുറുകെ പിടിപ്പിന് .
22Abstain from all appearance of evil.
22സകലവിധദോഷവും വിട്ടകലുവിന് .
23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
23സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നേ നിങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാവും പ്രാണനും ദേഹവും അശേഷം നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയില് അനിന്ദ്യമായി വെളിപ്പെടുംവണ്ണം കാക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.
24Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
24നിങ്ങളെ വിളിക്കുന്നവന് വിശ്വസ്തന് ആകുന്നു; അവന് അതു നിവര്ത്തിക്കും.
25Brethren, pray for us.
25സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് .
26Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
26സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയും വിശുദ്ധചുംബനത്താല് വന്ദനം ചെയ്വിന് .
27I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
27കര്ത്താവാണ, സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ഈ ലേഖനം വായിച്ചു കേള്പ്പിക്കേണം.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
28നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.
