1Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
1യേശു മരിച്ചവരില്‍ നിന്നു ഉയിര്‍പ്പിച്ച ലാസര്‍ പാര്‍ത്ത ബേഥാന്യയിലേക്കു യേശു പെസഹെക്കു ആറുദിവസം മുമ്പെ വന്നു.
2There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
2അവിടെ അവര്‍ അവന്നു ഒരു അത്താഴം ഒരുക്കി; മാര്‍ത്ത ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു, ലാസരോ അവനോടുകൂടെ പന്തിയില്‍ ഇരുന്നവരില്‍ ഒരുവന്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.
3Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
3അപ്പോള്‍ മറിയ വിലയേറിയ സ്വച്ഛജടാമാംസിതൈലം ഒരു റാത്തല്‍ എടുത്തു യേശുവിന്റെ കാലില്‍ പൂശി തന്റെ തലമുടികൊണ്ടു കാല്‍ തുവര്‍ത്തി; തൈലത്തിന്റെ സൌരഭ്യം കൊണ്ടു വീടു നിറഞ്ഞു.
4Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,
4എന്നാല്‍ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില്‍ ഒരുത്തനായി അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാനുള്ള യൂദാ ഈസ്കര്‍യ്യോത്താവു
5Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
5ഈ തൈലം മുന്നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നു വിറ്റു ദിരിദ്രന്മാര്‍ക്കും കൊടുക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
6This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
6ഇതു ദരിദ്രന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടല്ല, അവന്‍ കള്ളന്‍ ആകകൊണ്ടും പണസ്സഞ്ചി തന്റെ പക്കല്‍ ആകയാല്‍ അതില്‍ ഇട്ടതു എടുത്തുവന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അത്രേ പറഞ്ഞതു.
7Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
7യേശുവോഅവളെ വിടുക; എന്റെ ശവസംസ്കാരദിവസത്തിന്നായി അവള്‍ ഇതു സൂക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ.
8For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
8ദരിദ്രന്മാര്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഞാന്‍ എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഇല്ലതാനും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
9Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
9അവന്‍ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം യേശുവിന്റെ നിമിത്തം മാത്രമല്ല, അവന്‍ മരിച്ചവരില്‍ നിന്നു ഉയിര്‍പ്പിച്ച ലാസരെ കാണ്മാനായിട്ടുംകൂടെ വന്നു.
10But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
10അവന്‍ ഹേതുവായി അനേകം യെഹൂദന്മാര്‍ ചെന്നു
11Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
11യേശുവില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കയാല്‍ ലാസരെയും കൊല്ലേണം എന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ ആലോചിച്ചു.
12On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
12പിറ്റേന്നു പെരുന്നാള്‍ക്കു വന്നോരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു
13Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
13ഈത്തപ്പനയുടെ കുരുത്തോല എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ എതിരേല്പാന്‍ ചെന്നുഹോശന്നാ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായി കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ വരുന്നവന്‍ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ എന്നു ആര്‍ത്തു.
14And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
14യേശു ഒരു ചെറിയ കഴുതയെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അതിന്മേല്‍ കയറി.
15Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.
15“സീയോന്‍ പുത്രി, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഇതാ നിന്റെ രാജാവു കഴുതകൂട്ടിപ്പുറത്തു കയറിവരുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ.
16These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
16ഇതു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ ആദിയില്‍ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; യേശുവിന്നു തേജസ്കരണം വന്നശേഷം അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും തങ്ങള്‍ അവന്നു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു എന്നും അവര്‍ക്കും ഔര്‍മ്മ വന്നു.
17The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
17അവന്‍ ലാസരെ കല്ലറയില്‍ നിന്നു വിളിച്ചു മരിച്ചവരില്‍ നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പുരുഷാരം സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു.
18For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
18അവന്‍ ഈ അടയാളം ചെയ്തപ്രകാരം പുരുഷാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു.
19The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
19ആകയാല്‍ പരീശന്മാര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ തമ്മില്‍നമുക്കു ഒന്നും സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; ലോകം അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ആയിപ്പോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
20And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
20പെരുനാളില്‍ നമസ്കരിപ്പാന്‍ വന്നവരില്‍ ചില യവനന്മാര്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
21The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
21ഇവര്‍ ഗലീലയിലെ ബേത്ത് സയിദക്കാരനായ ഫിലിപ്പൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു അവനോടുയജമാനനേ, ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു യേശുവിനെ കാണ്മാന്‍ താല്പര്യമുണ്ടു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
22Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
22ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ചെന്നു അന്ത്രെയാസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അന്ത്രെയാസും ഫിലിപ്പൊസും കൂടെ ചെന്നു യേശുവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
23And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
23യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുമനുഷ്യപുത്രന്‍ തേജസ്കരിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള നാഴിക വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
24ആമേന്‍ , ആമേന്‍ , ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുകോതമ്പുമണി നിലത്തു വീണു ചാകുന്നില്ല എങ്കില്‍ അതു തനിയേ ഇരിക്കും; ചത്തു എങ്കിലോ വളരെ വിളവുണ്ടാകും.
25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
25തന്റെ ജീവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവന്‍ അതിനെ കളയും; ഇഹലോകത്തില്‍ തന്റെ ജീവനെ പകെക്കുന്നവന്‍ അതിനെ നിത്യജീവന്നായി സൂക്ഷിക്കും.
26If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
26എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നവന്‍ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാന്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തു എന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരനും ഇരിക്കും; എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യുന്നവനെ പിതാവു മാനിക്കും.
27Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
27ഇപ്പോള്‍ എന്റെ ഉള്ളം കലങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന്‍ എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? പിതാവേ, ഈ നാഴികയില്‍നിന്നു എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; എങ്കിലും ഇതു നിമിത്തം ഞാന്‍ ഈ നാഴികയിലേക്കു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
28Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
28പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണമേ. അപ്പോള്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍നിന്നു; ഞാന്‍ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനിയും മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും എന്നൊരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായി
29The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
29അതുകേട്ടിട്ടു അരികെ നിലക്കുന്ന പുരുഷാരംഇടി ഉണ്ടായി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; മറ്റു ചിലര്‍ ഒരു ദൈവദൂതന്‍ അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
30Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
30അതിന്നു യേശുഈ ശബ്ദം എന്റെ നിമിത്തമല്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം അത്രേ ഉണ്ടായതു.
31Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
31ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവിധി ആകുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുവിനെ പുറത്തു തള്ളിക്കളയും.
32And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
32ഞാനോ ഭൂമിയില്‍ നിന്നു ഉയര്‍ത്തപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ എല്ലാവരെയും എങ്കലേക്കു ആകര്‍ഷിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
33This he said, signifying what death he should die.
33ഇതു താന്‍ മരിപ്പാനുള്ള മരണവിധം സൂചിപ്പിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതത്രേ.
34The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
34പുരുഷാരം അവനോടുക്രിസ്തു എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കും എന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില്‍ വായിച്ചുകേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്‍ ഉയര്‍ത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതെന്നു നീ പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ഈ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്‍ ആര്‍ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
35Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
35അതിന്നു യേശു അവരോടുഇനി കുറെകാലം മാത്രം വെളിച്ചം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഇരിക്കും; ഇരുള്‍ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വെളിച്ചം ഉള്ളേടത്തോളം നടന്നുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ . ഇരുളില്‍ നടക്കുന്നവന്‍ താന്‍ എവിടെ പോകുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.
36While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
36നിങ്ങള്‍ വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കള്‍ ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചം ഉള്ളടത്തോളം വെളിച്ചത്തില്‍ വിശ്വസിപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
37But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
37ഇതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടു യേശു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി അവരെ വിട്ടു മറഞ്ഞു. അവര്‍ കാണ്‍കെ അവന്‍ ഇത്ര വളരെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ ചെയ്തിട്ടും അവര്‍ അവനില്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.
38That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
38“കര്‍ത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങള്‍ കേള്‍പ്പിച്ചതു ആര്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു? കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ഭുജം ആര്‍ക്കും വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു?” എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്‍ പറഞ്ഞ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാവാന്‍ ഇടവന്നു.
39Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
39അവര്‍ക്കും വിശ്വസിപ്പാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിന്റെ കാരണം യെശയ്യാവു വേറെ ഒരേടത്തു പറയുന്നതു
40He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
40അവര്‍ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുകയോ ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു ഗ്രഹിക്കയോ മനം തിരികയോ താന്‍ അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ കണ്ണു അവന്‍ കുരുടാക്കി ഹൃദയം തടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”
41These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
41യെശയ്യാവു അവന്റെ തേജസ്സു കണ്ടു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഇതു പറഞ്ഞതു.ര്‍ ആകാതിരിപ്പാന്‍ പരീശന്മാര്‍ നിമിത്തം ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞില്ലതാനും.ഹിച്ചു.
42Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
42യേശു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്നില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്‍ എന്നിലല്ല എന്നെ അയച്ചവനില്‍ തന്നേ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
43എന്നെ കാണുന്നവന്‍ എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കാണുന്നു.
44Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
44എന്നില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ആരും ഇരുളില്‍ വസിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ വെളിച്ചമായി ലോകത്തില്‍ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
45And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
45എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു പ്രമാണിക്കാത്തവനെ ഞാന്‍ വിധിക്കുന്നില്ല; ലോകത്തെ വിധിപ്പാനല്ല, ലോകത്തെ രക്ഷിപ്പാനത്രേ ഞാന്‍ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.
46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
46എന്റെ വചനം കൈക്കൊള്ളാതെ എന്നെ തള്ളിക്കളയുന്നവനെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന്‍ സംസാരിച്ച വചനം തന്നേ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളില്‍ അവനെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കും.
47And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
47ഞാന്‍ സ്വയമായി സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവു തന്നേ ഞാന്‍ ഇന്നതു പറയേണം എന്നും ഇന്നതു സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നും കല്പന തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
48അവന്റെ കല്പന നിത്യജീവന്‍ എന്നു ഞാന്‍ അറിയുന്നു; ആകയാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു പിതാവു എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.
49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
