1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
1യെരൂശലേമില്‍ നിന്നു പരീശന്മാരും ചില ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു കൂടി.
2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
2അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില്‍ ചിലര്‍ ശുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത എന്നുവെച്ചാല്‍, കഴുകാത്ത, കൈകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നതു അവര്‍ കണ്ടു.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
3പരീശന്മാരും യെഹൂദന്മാര്‍ ഒക്കെയും പൂര്‍വ്വന്മാരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം പ്രമാണിച്ചു കൈ നന്നായി കഴുകീട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയില്ല.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
4ചന്തയില്‍ നിന്നു വരുമ്പോഴും കുളിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയില്ല. പാനപാത്രം, ഭരണി, ചെമ്പു എന്നിവ കഴുകുക മുതലായി പലതും പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നതു അവര്‍ക്കും ചട്ടമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
5അങ്ങനെ പരീശന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുംനിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ പൂര്‍വ്വന്മാരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കാതെ ശുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത കൈകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
6അവന്‍ അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുകപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു യെശയ്യാവു പ്രവചിച്ചതു ശരി“ഈ ജനം അധരംകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം എങ്കല്‍ നിന്നു ദൂരത്തു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ”
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
7“മാനുഷകല്പനകളായ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെ അവര്‍ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വ്യര്‍ത്ഥമായി ഭജിക്കുന്നു”. എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
8നിങ്ങള്‍ ദൈവകല്പന വിട്ടുംകളഞ്ഞു മനുഷ്യരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു;
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
9പിന്നെ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങളുടെ സംപ്രദായം പ്രമാണിപ്പാന്‍ വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങള്‍ ദൈവകല്പന തള്ളിക്കളയുന്നതു നന്നായി.
10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
10നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നും അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ പ്രാകുന്നവന്‍ മരിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.
11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
11നിങ്ങളോ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്‍ അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോനിനക്കു എന്നാല്‍ ഉപകാരമായി വരേണ്ടതു വഴിപാടു എന്നര്‍ത്ഥമുള്ള കൊര്‍ബ്ബാന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ മതി എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
12തന്റെ അപ്പന്നോ അമ്മെക്കോ മേലാല്‍ ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ അവനെ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
13ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന സന്പ്രദായത്താല്‍ ദൈവകല്പന ദുര്‍ബ്ബലമാക്കുന്നു; ഈ വക പലതും നിങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നു.
14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
14പിന്നെ അവന്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തെ അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടുഎല്ലാവരും കേട്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
15പുറത്തുനിന്നു മനുഷ്യന്റെ അകത്തു ചെല്ലുന്ന യാതൊന്നിന്നും അവനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന്‍ കഴികയില്ല; അവനില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതത്രേ മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
16(കേള്‍പ്പാന്‍ ചെവി ഉള്ളവന്‍ കേള്‍ക്കട്ടെ) എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
17അവന്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തെ വിട്ടു വീട്ടില്‍ ചെന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ ആ ഉപമയെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.
18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
18അവന്‍ അവരോടുഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളും ബോധമില്ലാത്തവരോ? പുറത്തു നിന്നു മനുഷ്യന്റെ അകത്തു ചെല്ലുന്ന യാതൊന്നിന്നും അവനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന്‍ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?
19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
19അതു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ അല്ല വയറ്റിലത്രേ ചെല്ലുന്നതു; പിന്നെ മറപ്പുരയിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ സകലഭോജ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
20മനുഷ്യനില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതത്രേ മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കുന്നതു;
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
21അകത്തുനിന്നു, മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍നിന്നു തന്നേ, ദുശ്ചിന്ത, വ്യഭിചാരം, പരസംഗം,
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
22കുലപാതകം, മോഷണം, അത്യാഗ്രഹം, ദുഷ്ടത, ചതി, ദുഷ്കര്‍മ്മം, വിടക്കുകണ്ണു, ദൂഷണം, അഹങ്കാരം, മൂഢത എന്നിവ പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
23ഈ ദോഷങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം അകത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
24And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
24അവന്‍ അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സീദോന്റെയും സോരിന്റെയും അതിര്‍നാട്ടില്‍ ചെന്നു ഒരു വീട്ടില്‍ കടന്നു; ആരും അറിയരുതു എന്നു ഇച്ഛിച്ചു എങ്കിലും മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പാന്‍ സാധിച്ചില്ല.
25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
25അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ബാധിച്ച ചെറിയ മകള്‍ ഉള്ളോരു സ്ത്രീ അവന്റെ വസ്തുത കേട്ടിട്ടു വന്നു അവന്റെ കാല്‍ക്കല്‍ വീണു.
26The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
26അവള്‍ സുറൊഫൊയീക്യ ജാതിയിലുള്ള ഒരു യവനസ്ത്രീ ആയിരുന്നു; തന്റെ മകളില്‍ നിന്നു ഭൂതത്തെ പുറത്താക്കുവാന്‍ അവള്‍ അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
27യേശു അവളോടുമുമ്പെ മക്കള്‍ക്കു തൃപ്തി വരട്ടെ; മക്കളുടെ അപ്പം എടുത്തു ചെറുനായ്ക്കള്‍ക്കു ഇട്ടുകൊടുക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
28അവള്‍ അവനോടുഅതേ, കര്‍ത്താവേ, ചെറുനായ്കളും മേശെക്കു കീഴെ കുട്ടികളുടെ അപ്പനുറുക്കുകളെ തിന്നുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
29അവന്‍ അവളോടുഈ വാക്കുനിമിത്തം പൊയ്ക്കൊള്‍കഭൂതം നിന്റെ മകളെ വിട്ടു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
30അവള്‍ വീട്ടില്‍ വന്നാറെ, മകള്‍ കിടക്കമേല്‍ കിടക്കുന്നതും ഭൂതം വിട്ടുപോയതും കണ്ടു.
31And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
31അവന്‍ വീണ്ടും സോരിന്റെ അതിര്‍ വിട്ടു സീദോന്‍ വഴിയായി ദെക്കപ്പൊലിദേശത്തിന്റെ നടുവില്‍കൂടി ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു വന്നു.
32And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
32അവിടെ അവര്‍ വിക്കനായോരു ചെകിടനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു, അവന്റെ മേല്‍ കൈ വെക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
33And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
33അവന്‍ അവനെ പുരുഷാരത്തില്‍നിന്നു വേറിട്ടു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവന്റെ ചെവിയില്‍ വിരല്‍ ഇട്ടു, തുപ്പി അവന്റെ നാവിനെ തൊട്ടു,
34And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
34സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു നോക്കി നെടുവീര്‍പ്പിട്ടു അവനോടുതുറന്നുവരിക എന്നു അര്‍ത്ഥമുള്ള എഫഥാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
35ഉടനെ അവന്റെ ചെവി തുറന്നു നാവിന്റെ കെട്ടും അഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന്‍ ശരിയായി സംസാരിച്ചു.
36And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
36ഇതു ആരോടും പറയരുതു എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവന്‍ എത്ര കല്പിച്ചുവോ അത്രയും അവര്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി
37And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
37അവന്‍ സകലവും നന്നായി ചെയ്തു; ചെകിടരെ കേള്‍ക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു; ഊമരെ സംസാരിക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അത്യന്തം വിസ്മയിച്ചു.
