1If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
1ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു ആരോഹണഗീതം. യിസ്രായേല്‍ പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്‍ യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷത്തില്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍,
2If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
2മനുഷ്യര്‍ നമ്മോടു എതിര്‍ത്തപ്പോള്‍, യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷത്തില്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍,
3Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
3അവരുടെ കോപം നമ്മുടെനേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചപ്പോള്‍, അവര്‍ നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയുമായിരുന്നു;
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
4വെള്ളം നമ്മെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുമായിരുന്നു, നദി നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണന്നു മീതെ കവിയുമായിരുന്നു;
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
5പൊങ്ങിയിരുന്ന വെള്ളം നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണന്നു മീതെ കവിയുമായിരുന്നു.
6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
6നമ്മെ അവരുടെ പല്ലിന്നു ഇരയായി കൊടുക്കായ്കയാല്‍ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
7വേട്ടക്കാരുടെ കണിയില്‍നിന്നു പക്ഷിയെന്നപോലെ നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണന്‍ വഴുതിപ്പോന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; കണി പൊട്ടി നാം വഴുതിപ്പോന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
8നമ്മുടെ സഹായം ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
