1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
1ദൈവമേ, നിന്റെ ദയെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടാകേണമേ; നിന്റെ കരുണയുടെ ബഹുത്വപ്രകാരം എന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മായിച്ചുകളയേണമേ.
2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
2എന്നെ നന്നായി കഴുകി എന്റെ അകൃത്യം പോക്കേണമേ; എന്റെ പാപം നീക്കി എന്നെ വെടിപ്പാക്കേണമേ.
3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
3എന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ ഞാന്‍ അറിയുന്നു; എന്റെ പാപം എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
4നിന്നോടു തന്നേ ഞാന്‍ പാപം ചെയ്തു; നിനക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ഞാന്‍ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നീ നീതിമാനായും വിധിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നിര്‍മ്മലനായും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.
5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
5ഇതാ, ഞാന്‍ അകൃത്യത്തില്‍ ഉരുവായി; പാപത്തില്‍ എന്റെ അമ്മ എന്നെ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു.
6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
6അന്തര്‍ഭാഗത്തിലെ സത്യമല്ലോ നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു; അന്തരംഗത്തില്‍ എന്നെ ജ്ഞാനം ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കേണമേ.
7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
7ഞാന്‍ നിര്‍മ്മലനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈസോപ്പുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണമേ; ഞാന്‍ ഹിമത്തെക്കാള്‍ വെളുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ കഴുകേണമേ.
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
8സന്തോഷവും ആനന്ദവും എന്നെ കേള്‍ക്കുമാറാക്കേണമേ; നീ ഒടിച്ച അസ്ഥികള്‍ ഉല്ലസിക്കട്ടെ.
9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
9എന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെ കാണാതവണ്ണം നിന്റെ മുഖം മറെക്കേണമേ. എന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും മായിച്ചു കളയേണമേ.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
10ദൈവമേ, നിര്‍മ്മലമായോരു ഹൃദയം എന്നില്‍ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു സ്ഥിരമായോരാത്മാവിനെ എന്നില്‍ പുതുക്കേണമേ.
11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
11നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍നിന്നു എന്നെ തള്ളിക്കളയരുതേ; നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ എന്നില്‍നിന്നു എടുക്കയുമരുതേ.
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
12നിന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ സന്തോഷം എനിക്കു തിരികെ തരേണമേ; മനസ്സൊരുക്കമുള്ള ആത്മാവിനാല്‍ എന്നെ താങ്ങേണമേ.
13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
13അപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ അതിക്രമക്കാരോടു നിന്റെ വഴികളെ ഉപദേശിക്കും; പാപികള്‍ നിങ്കലേക്കു മനംതിരിയും.
14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
14എന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ ദൈവമായ ദൈവമേ, രക്തപാതകത്തില്‍നിന്നു എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ; എന്നാല്‍ എന്റെ നാവു നിന്റെ നീതിയെ ഘോഷിക്കും.
15O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
15കര്‍ത്താവേ, എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളെ തുറക്കേണമേ; എന്നാല്‍ എന്റെ വായ് നിന്റെ സ്തുതിയെ വര്‍ണ്ണിക്കും.
16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
16ഹനനയാഗം നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നില്ല; അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഞാന്‍ അര്‍പ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഹോമയാഗത്തില്‍ നിനക്കു പ്രസാദവുമില്ല.
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
17ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങള്‍ തകര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന മനസ്സു; തകര്‍ന്നും നുറുങ്ങിയുമിരിക്കുന്ന ഹൃദയത്തെ, ദൈവമേ, നീ നിരസിക്കയില്ല.
18Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
18നിന്റെ പ്രസാദപ്രകാരം സീയോനോടു നന്മ ചെയ്യേണമേ; യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതിലുകളെ പണിയേണമേ;
19Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
19അപ്പോള്‍ നീ നീതിയാഗങ്ങളിലും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളിലും സര്‍വ്വാംഗഹോമങ്ങളിലും പ്രസാദിക്കും; അപ്പോള്‍ നിന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല്‍ കാളകളെ അര്‍പ്പിക്കും. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു ധ്യാനം. എദോമ്യനായ ദോവേഗ് ചെന്നു ശൌലിനോടുദാവീദ് അഹീമേലെക്കിന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ വന്നിരുന്നു എന്നറിയിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ചമെച്ചതു.)
