1But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
1നീയോ പത്ഥ്യോപദേശത്തിന്നു ചേരുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിക്ക.
2That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
2വൃദ്ധന്മാര് നിര്മ്മദവും ഗൌരവവും സുബോധവും ഉള്ളവരും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും സഹിഷ്ണുതയിലും ആരോഗ്യമുള്ളവരും ആയിരിക്കേണം എന്നും
3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
3വൃദ്ധന്മാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നടപ്പില് പവിത്രയോഗ്യമാരും ഏഷണി പറയാത്തവരും വീഞ്ഞിന്നു അടിമപ്പെടാത്തവരുമായിരിക്കേണം എന്നും
4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
4ദൈവവചനം ദുഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യൌവനക്കാരത്തികളെ ഭര്ത്തൃപ്രിയമാരും
5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
5പുത്രപ്രിയമാരും സുബോധവും പാതിവ്രത്യമുള്ളവരും വീട്ടുകാര്യം നോക്കുന്നവരും ദയയുള്ളവരും ഭര്ത്താക്കാന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴ്പെടുന്നവരും ആയിരിപ്പിാന് ശീലിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നന്മ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നവരായിരിക്കേണം എന്നും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.
6Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
6അവ്വണ്ണം യൌവനക്കാരെയും സുബോധമുള്ളവരായിരിപ്പാന് പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.
7In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
7വിരോധി നമ്മെക്കൊണ്ടു ഒരു തിന്മയും പറവാന് വകയില്ലാതെ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സകലത്തിലും നിന്നെത്തന്നേ സല്പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു മാതൃകയാക്കി കാണിക്ക.
8Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
8ഉപദേശത്തില് നിര്മ്മലതയും ഗൌരവവും ആക്ഷേപിച്ചു കൂടാത്ത പതഥ്യവചനവും ഉള്ളവന് ആയിരിക്ക.
9Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
9ദാസന്മാര് നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തെ സകലത്തിലും അലങ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യജമാനന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി സകലവിധത്തിലും പ്രസാദം വരുത്തുന്നവരും
10Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
10എതിര്പറകയോ വഞ്ചിച്ചെടുക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ സകലത്തിലും നല്ല വിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കുന്നവരുംമായി ഇരിപ്പാന് (കല്പിക്ക).
11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
11സകലമനുഷ്യര്ക്കും രക്ഷാകരമായ ദൈവകൃപ ഉദിച്ചുവല്ലോ;
12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
12നാം ഭാഗ്യകരമായ പ്രത്യാശെക്കായിട്ടും മഹാദൈവവും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ തേജസ്സിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതെക്കായിട്ടും
13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
13കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഭക്തിയോടും പ്രപഞ്ചമോഹങ്ങളും വര്ജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടു ഈ ലോകത്തില് സുബോധത്തോടും നീതിയോടും ദൈവഭക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ ജീവിച്ചുപോരേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നമ്മെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചുവളര്ത്തുന്നു.
14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
14അവന് നമ്മെ സകല അധര്മ്മത്തില്നിന്നും വീണ്ടെടുത്തു സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ശുഷ്കാന്തിയുള്ളോരു സ്വന്തജനമായി തനിക്കു ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നെത്താന് നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു.
15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
15ഇതു പൂര്ണ്ണഗൌരവത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിക്കയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കയും ശാസിക്കയും ചെയ്ക. ആരും നിന്നെ തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു.
