1Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
1दावीद म्हणाला, “हेच ते परमेश्वर देवाचे मंदिर. इस्राएल लोकांनी होमबली अर्पण करण्याची वेदीही इथेच बांधली जाईल.”
2And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
2इस्राएलमध्ये जे परदेशी लोक राहत होते त्या सर्वाना दावीदाने एक फर्मान काढून बोलवून घेतले. पाथरवटांची निवड त्याने त्यांच्यातून केली. देवाच्या मंदिरासाठी दगडाचे चिरे घडवण्याचे काम त्यांचे होते.
3And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
3दरवाजांसाठी लागणारे खिळे आणि बिजागऱ्या यांच्यासाठी दावीदाने लोखंड आणवले. पितळेचाही फार मोठा साठा त्याने केला.
4Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
4सीदोन आणि सोर या नगरांतील लोकांनी गंधसरुचे लाकूड दावीदाला दिले. ते ओंडके तर एवढे आले की त्यांची मोजदाद करणे कठीण.
5And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
5दावीद म्हणाला, “आपण परमेश्वरासाठी भव्य मंदिर उभारले पाहिजे. पण माझा मुलगा शलमोन अजून लहान आहे. त्याचे शिक्षणही अद्याप पुरे झालेले नाही. परमेश्वराचे मंदिर मात्र उत्कृष्ट झाले पाहिजे. असे देखणे आणि भव्य की सगळ्या राष्ट्रांमध्ये त्याची कीर्ती व्हायला हवी. त्यदृष्टीनेच मी परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराची योजना आखीन.” असे म्हणून दावीदाने आपल्या मृत्यूपूर्वी मंदिर उभारणीची बरीच तयारी केली.
6Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.
6मग त्याने आपला मुलगा शलमोन याला जवळ बोलावले. इस्राएलचा परमेश्वर देव याच्यासाठी मंदिर बांधण्याची दावीदाने त्याला आज्ञा केली.
7And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
7दावीद शलमोनला म्हणाला, “मुला, परमेश्वर देवासाठी मंदिर बांधायची मला फार इच्छा होती.
8But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
8पण परमेश्वर मला म्हणाला, ‘दावीदा, तू बऱ्याच लढाया केल्यास आणि त्यात अनेक लोक मारले गेले. तेव्हा तुला माझ्सासाठी मंदिर बांधता येणार नाही.
9Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
9मात्र तुझा मुलगा शांतताप्रिय आहे. मी त्याच्या कारकिर्दीत शांतता लाभू देईन. त्याचे शत्रू त्याला त्रास देणार नाहीत. त्याचे नाव शलमोन म्हणजे शांतताप्रिय असेल. इस्राएलला त्याच्या काळात शांतता आणि स्वस्थता लाभेल.
10He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
10तो माझ्याप्रीत्यर्थ मंदिर उभारील. तो माझा पुत्र आणि मी त्याचा पिता होईन त्याचे राज्य मी बळकट करीन. इस्राएलवर त्याच्या वंशजा पैकी एकजण सर्वकाळ राज्य करील.”
11Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.
11दावीद म्हणाला, “मुला, तुला परमेश्वराची अखंड साथ लाभो. तुला यश मिळो. परमेश्वर देवाने भाकीत केल्याप्रमाणे तुझ्याहातून त्याचे मंदिर बांधून होवो.
12Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.
12तो तुला इस्राएलचा राजा करील. लोकांचे नेतृत्व करायला आणि परमेश्वर देवाचे नियम पाळायला तो तुला ज्ञान आणि शहाणपण देवो.
13Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
13इस्राएलसाठी परमेश्वराने मोशेला जे नियमशास्त्र सांगितले ते तू कसोशीने पाळ म्हणजे तू यशस्वी होशील. घाबरु नको. दृढ राहा. हिंमत बाळग.
14Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
14“शलमोन, परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या वास्तूसाठी मी खूप मेहनत घेतली आहे. 3,750 टन सोने आणि 37,500 टन चांदी मी जमवली आहे. लोखंड आणि पितळ, तर मोजदाद करणे कठीण इतके आहे. दगड, लाकूड यांचाही साठा मी केलाच आहे. शलमोन, त्यात तू भर घालू शकतोस.
15Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
15पाथरवट आणि सुतार तुझ्या दिमतीला आहेत. खेरीज प्रत्येक कामात कुशल अशी माणसे आहेत.
16Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.
16सोने, चांदी, पितळ, लोखंड यांच्या कारागिरीत ते निपुण आहेत. शिवाय हे कारागिर काही थोडे थोडके नाहीत. असंख्य आहेत. तेव्हा आता कामाला सुरवात कर. तुला परमेश्वराची साथ मिळो.”
17David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
17दावीदाने मग इस्राएलमधील सर्व पुढारी मंडळींना शलमोनला सहकार्य करण्याची आज्ञा केली.
18Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
18दावीद त्यांना म्हणाला, “खुद्द परमेश्वर देवच तुमच्याबरोबर आहे. त्याच्या कृपेने तुम्हाला शांतता लाभली आहे. आपल्या भोवतालच्या शत्रूंना पराभूत करण्यात परमेश्वराने मला साहाय्य केले. आता हा देश परमेश्वराच्या आणि तुमच्या ताब्यात आहे.
19Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
19तेव्हा अंत:करणपूर्वक तुम्ही तुमच्या परमेश्वर देवाला शरण जा आणि त्याचे ऐका. परमेश्वर देवाचे पवित्र मंदिर बांधा. मग मंदिरांत पवित्र करारकोश आणि इतर पवित्र वस्तू आणून ठेवा.”
