1Elihu spake moreover, and said,
1अलीहूने आपले बोलणे चालू ठेवले. तो म्हणाला:
2Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
2“ईयोब, ‘मी देवापेक्षा अधिक बरोबर आहे’ हे तुझे म्हणणे योग्य नाही.
3For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
3आणि ईयोब तू देवाला विचारतोस ‘जर एखाद्या माणसाने देवाला खुश करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला तर त्याला काय मिळेल? मी जर पाप केले नाही तर त्यामुळे माझे काय चांगले होणार आहे?’
4I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
4“ईयोब, मी (अलीहू) तुला आणि तुझ्या मित्रांना उत्तर देण्याची इच्छा करतो.
5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
5ईयोब, तुझ्यापेक्षा उंच असणाऱ्या आकाशाकडे, ढगांकडे बघ.
6If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
6ईयोब, तू पाप केलेस तर त्यामुळे देवाला कसली इजा होत नाही. तुझ्याकडे पापांच्या राशी असल्या तरी त्यामुळे देवाला काही होत नाही.
7If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
7आणि ईयोब, तू खूप चांगला असलास तरी त्यामुळे देवाला कसली मदत होत नाही. देवाला तुझ्याकडून काहीच मिळत नाही.
8Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
8ईयोब, तू ज्या चांगल्या आणि वाईट गोष्टी करतोस त्यांचा परिणाम तुझ्यावर आणि तुझ्यासारख्या इतरांवर होतो. त्यामुळे देवाला मदत होते किंवा त्याला दु:ख होते असे नाही.
9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
9“जर वाईट लोकांना दु:ख झाले तर ते मदतीसाठी ओरडतील. ते सामर्थ्यवान लोकांकडे जातात आणि मदतीची याचना करतात.
10But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
10परंतु जे वाईट लोक देवाकडे मदत मागत नाहीत. ते असे म्हणणार नाहीत: ‘मला निर्माण करणारा देव कुठे आहे? लोक दु:खी कष्टी असले की देव त्यांना मदत करतो. आता तो कुठे आहे?’
11Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
11‘देवाने आम्हाला पशुपक्ष्यांपेक्षा शहाणे बनवले आहे तेव्हा तो कुठे आहे?’
12There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
12“किंवा त्या वाईट माणसांनी देवाकडे मदत मागितली तरी देव त्यांना उत्तर देणार नाही. का? कारण ते लोक अतिशय गर्विष्ठ आहेत आपण फार मोठे आहोत. असे त्यांना अजूनही वाटते.
13Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
13देव त्यांच्या तुच्छ याचनेकडे लक्ष देणार नाही हे खरे आहे. सर्वशक्तिमान देव त्यांच्याकडे लक्ष देणार नाही.
14Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
14तेव्हा ईयोब, तू जेव्हा असे म्हणशील की देव तुला दिसत नाही तेव्हा देव तुझ्याकडे लक्ष देणार नाही. तू देवाला भेटण्याची आणि त्याला तू निरपराध आहेस हे पटवून देण्याच्या संधीची वाट पहात आहेस असे म्हण.
15But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
15“ईयोब, देव वाईट लोकांना शिक्षा करत नाही असे तुला वाटते. तो पापाकडे लक्ष देत नाही असेही तुला वाटते.
16Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
16म्हणून ईयोब त्याचे निरर्थक बोलणे चालूच ठेवतो. आपण खूप मोठे असल्याचा आव ईयोब आणतो. परंतु आपण काय बोलत आहोत हे ईयोबला कळत नाही हे सहजपणे समजून येते.”
