¹Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

¹“ईयोब, पहाडी बकऱ्या कधी व्यायतात ते तुला माहीत आहे का? हरिणी आपल्या बछड्याला जन्म देताना तू पाहिले आहेस का?

²Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

²ईयोब पहाडी बकरी आणि हरिणी किती महिने आपल्या पिलांना पोटात वाढवतात ते तुला माहीत आहे का? त्यांची जन्माला यायची वेळ कोणती ते तुला माहीत आहे का?

³They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

³ते प्राणी लोळतात प्रसूतिवेदना सहन करतात आणि त्यांची पिल्ले जन्माला येतात.

⁴Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

⁴ती बछडी शेतात मोठी होतात. नंतर ती आपल्या आईला सोडून जातात आणि पुन्हा कधीही परतून येत नाहीत.

⁵Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

⁶Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

⁷He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

⁸The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

⁹Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

¹⁰Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

¹⁰ईयोब, गवा तुला त्याच्या गळ्यात दोरी बांधू देईल का? आणि तू त्याला तुझे शेत नांगरायला लावू शकशील का?

¹¹Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

¹¹गवा खूप बलवान असतो, परंतु तो तुझे काम करील असा विश्वास तुला वाटतो का?

¹²Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

¹²तो तुझे धान्य शेतातून गोळा करेल आणि खळ्यात नेईल असा भरवसा तुला वाटतो का?

¹³Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

¹³“शहामृगी आपले पंख आनंदाने फडफडवते. परंतु तिला उडता येत नाही. तिचे पंख आणि पिसे करकोचाच्या पंखासारखी नाहीत.

¹⁴Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

¹⁴शहामृगी आपली अंडी जमिनीत घालते आणि ती वाळूत उबदार होतात.

¹⁵And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

¹⁵आपल्या अंड्यांवरुन कुणी चालत जाईल किंवा रानटी प्राणी ती फोडतील हे ती विसरते.

¹⁶She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's: her labour is in vain without fear;

¹⁶शहामृगी आपल्या पिलांना सोडून जाते. ती जणू स्वत:ची नाहीतच असे ती वागते. तिची पिल्ले मेली तरी तिला त्याची पर्वा नसते. काम निष्कळ झाल्याचे सुखदु:ख तिला नसते.

¹⁷Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

¹⁷का? कारण मी (देव) शहामृगीला शहाणे केले नाही. शहामृगी मूर्ख असते. मीच तिला तसे केले आहे.

¹⁸What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

¹⁸परंतु शहामृगी जेव्हा पळण्यासाठी उठते तेव्हा ती घोड्याला आणि घोडेस्वाराला हसते, कारण ती कुठल्याही घोड्यापेक्षा जोरात पळू शकते.

¹⁹Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

¹⁹“ईयोब, तू घोड्याला त्याची शक्ती दिलीस का? तू त्याच्या मानेवर त्याची आयाळ ठेवलीस का?

²⁰Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

²⁰ईयोब, तू घोड्याला टोळाप्रमाणे लांब उडी मारायला सांगितलेस का? घोडा जोरात फुरफुरतो आणि लोक त्याला घाबरतात.

²¹He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

²¹घोडा बलवान आहे म्हणून आनंदात असतो. तो आपल्या खुराने जमीन उकरतो आणि धावत युध्दभूमीवर जातो.

²²He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

²²घोडा भीतीला हसतो, तो कशालाही भीत नाही. तो युध्दातून कधीही पळ काढीत नाही.

²³The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

²³सैनिकाचा भाता घोड्याच्या बाजूला हलत असतो. त्याचा स्वार जे भाले आणि इतर शस्त्रे बाळगतो ते उन्हात चमकतात.

²⁴He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

²⁴घोडा फार अनावर होतो. तो जमिनीवर जोरात धावतो. तो जेव्हा रणशिंग फुकलेले ऐकतो तेव्हा तो एका जागी स्थिर राहू शकत नाही.

²⁵He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

²⁵रणशिंग ऐकू येते तेव्हा घोडा घाई करतो. त्याला दुरुनही लढाईचा वास येतो. सेनापतींनी दिलेल्या आज्ञा आणि युध्दातले इतर अनेक आवाज त्याला ऐकू येतात.

²⁶Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

²⁶“ईयोब, तू ससण्याला पंख पसरुन दक्षिणेकडे उडायला शिकवलेस का?

²⁷Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

²⁷ईयोब, गरुडाला आकाशात उंच उडायला शिकवणारा तूच का? तूच त्याला त्याचे घरटे उंच पहाडावर बांधायला सांगितलेस का?

²⁸She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

²⁸गरुड उंच सुळक्यावर राहातो. तीच त्याची तटबंदी आहे

²⁹From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

²⁹गरुड त्याच्या तटबंदीवरुन आपले भक्ष्य शोधतो. गरुडाला एवढ्या उंचीवरुन आपले भक्ष्य दिसू शकते.

³⁰Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

³⁰गरुड प्रेताभोवती गोळा होतात आणि त्यांची पिल्ले रक्त पितात.”
