¹O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

¹देवा, तू आम्हाला कायमचाच सोडून गेलास का? देवा, तू तुझ्या माणसांवर अजूनही रागावलेला आहेस का?.

²Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

²तू खूप दिवसांपूर्वी ज्या लोकांना विकत घेतलेस त्यांची आठवण ठेव. तू आम्हाला वाचवलेस आता आम्ही तुझे आहोत. ज्या सियोनाच्या डोंगरावर तू राहिलास त्याची आठवण तुला होते का?

³Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

³देवा, ये आणि या प्राचीन अवशेषांमधून चाल. शत्रूंनी ज्या पवित्र जागेचा नाश केला तिथे परत ये.

⁴Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

⁴शत्रूंनी मंदिरात युध्द गर्जना केल्या. ते युध्द जिंकले आहे हे दाखविण्यासाठी त्यांनी मंदिरात झेंडे फडकवले.

⁵A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

⁵फावड्याने गवत कापणाऱ्यासारखे शत्रुचे सैनिक दिसत होते.

⁶But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.

⁶देवा, त्यांनी कुऱ्हाडीचा आणि हातोडीचा उपयोग करुन तुझ्या मंदिरातील कोरीव काम तोडून टाकले.

⁷They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

⁷त्या सैनिकांनी तुझे पवित्र स्थान जाळून टाकले. तुझ्या नावाला गौरव प्राप्त करुन देण्यासाठी ते मंदिर बांधले होते पण त्यांनी ते मातीत मिळवले.

⁸They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

⁸शत्रूंनी आमचा संपूर्ण नाश करायचे ठरवले. त्यांनी देशातील प्रत्येक पवित्र स्थानजाळून टाकले.

⁹We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

⁹आम्हाला आमचे एकही चिन्ह दिसू शकले नाही. आता कोणी संदेष्टे राहिले नाही. कुणालाही काय करावे ते कळत नाही.

¹⁰O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

¹⁰देवा, आणखी किती काळ शत्रू आमची चेष्टा करणार आहेत? तू त्यांना कायमचीच तुझ्या नावाचा अनादर करायची परवानगी देणार आहेस का?

¹¹Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

¹¹देवा, तू आम्हाला इतकी मोठी शिक्षा का दिलीस? तू तुझी महान सत्ता वापरलीस आणि आमचा संपूर्ण नाश केलास.

¹²For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

¹²देवा, तू खूप काळापासून आमचा राजा आहेस या देशात लढाया जिंकायला तू आम्हाला मदत केलीस.

¹³Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

¹³देवा, लाल समुद्र दुभागण्यासाठी तू तुझ्या शक्तीचा उपयोग केलास.

¹⁴Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

¹⁴समुद्रातल्या मोठ्या राक्षसांचा तू पराभव केलास लिव्याथानाचे डोके तू ठेचलेस आणि त्याचे शरीर प्राण्यांना खाण्याकरता ठेवून दिलेस.

¹⁵Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.

¹⁵तू नद्या नाल्यांना पाणी आणतोस आणि तूच नद्या कोरड्या करतोस.

¹⁶The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

¹⁶देवा, तू दिवसावर आणि रात्रीवर नियंत्रण ठेवतोस. सूर्य आणि चंद्र तूच निर्माण केलेस.

¹⁷Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

¹⁷पृथ्वीवरील प्रत्येक गोष्ट तूच सीमित केलीस. तूच उन्हाळा आणि हिवाळा निर्माण केलास.

¹⁸Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

¹⁸देवा, या गोष्टींची आठवण ठेव. शत्रूंनी तुझा प्राण उतारा केला ते लक्षात असू दे. ती मूर्ख माणसे तुझ्या नावाचा तिरस्कार करतात.

¹⁹O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

¹⁹त्या जंगली प्राण्यांना तुझे कबुतर घेऊ देऊ नकोस. तुझ्या गरीब माणसांना कायमचे विसरु नकोस.

²⁰Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

²⁰आपला करार आठव या देशातील प्रत्येक अंधाऱ्या कोपऱ्यात हिंसा आहे.

²¹O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

²¹देवा, तुझ्या माणसांना वाईट वागणुक मिळाली. त्यांना आणखी दु:ख होणार नाही असे पाहा. गरीब आणि असहाय्य लोक तुझी स्तुती करतात.

²²Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

²²देवा, ऊठ! आणि युध्द कर! त्या मूर्खांनी तुला आव्हान दिले याची आठवण ठेव.

²³Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

²³तुझ्या शत्रूंच्या आरोळ्या विसरु नकोस त्यांनी तुझा पुन्हा पुन्हा अपमान केला आहे.
