¹When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

¹ယေရှုသည် ကိုယ်တိုင်ဗတ္တိဇံကို ပေးတော်မမူ။

²(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

²တပည့်တော်တို့သာလျှင် ပေးကြသော်လည်း၊ ယေရှုသည် ယောဟန်ထက်သာ၍များသော သူတို့ကို တပည့်တော်ဖြစ်စေ၍၊ ဗတ္တိဇံကိုပေးကြောင်းကို ဖာရိရှဲတို့သည် ကြားပြီဟု သခင်ဘုရားသိတော်မူသောအခါ၊

³He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

³ယုဒပြည်မှ ထွက်သွား၍ ဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ တဖန် ကြွတော်မူစဉ်တွင်၊

⁴And he must needs go through Samaria.

⁴ရှမာရိပြည်အလယ်၌ ရှောက်သွားရ၏။

⁵Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

⁵ယာကုပ်သည် မိမိသားယောသပ်အား ပေးသောမြေအကွက်နှင့်အနီး၊ ရှမာရိနယ်၊ ရှုခါအမည်ရှိသော မြို့သို့ ရောက်တော်မူ၏။

⁶Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

⁶ထိုအရပ်၌ယာကုပ်၏ ရေတွင်းရှိ၏။ ယေရှုသည် ခရီးသွား၍ ပင်ပန်းသောကြောင့် ရေတွင်းနားမှာ ထိုင်တော်မူ၏။ ထိုအချိန်သည် ခြောက်နာရီအချိန်ဖြစ်၏။

⁷There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

⁷ရှမာရိမိန်းမတယောက်သည် ရေခပ်ခြင်းငှါ လာ၍၊ ယေရှုက၊ ငါသောက်ဘို့ရေပေးပါဟု ထိုမိန်းမအား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁸(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

⁸အကြောင်းမူကား၊ တပည့်တော်တို့သည် စားစရာကိုဝယ်ခြင်းငှါ မြို့ထဲသို့သွားကြသည် အခိုက် ဖြစ်သတည်း။

⁹Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

⁹ထိုမိန်းမကလည်း၊ သင်သည်ယုဒလူဖြစ်လျက်ပင်၊ ရှမာရိမိန်းမဖြစ်သောအကျွန်ုပ်ကိုအဘယ်ကြောင့် သောက်ဘို့တောင်းသနည်းဟုဆို၏။ ဆိုသည်အကြောင်းကား၊ ယုဒလူတို့သည် ရှမာရိလူတို့နှင့်ပေါင်းဘော်ခြင်း မရှိ။

¹⁰Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁰ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ဘုရားသခင်ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို၎င်း၊ ငါသောက်ဘို့ရေပေးပါဟုဆိုသော သူကား အဘယ် သူဖြစ်သည်ကို၎င်း သင်သည်သိလျှင် ထိုသူကိုတောင်းလိမ့်မည်။ ထိုသူသည်လည်း အသက်ရေကို ပေးလိမ့်မည် ဟုပြန်၍ မိန့်တော်မူသော်၊

¹¹The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

¹¹မိန်းမက၊ သခင်၌ရေခပ်စရာမရှိ ရေတွင်းလည်း နက်သည်ဖြစ်၍၊ အသက်ရေကို အဘယ်သို့ရပါ မည်နည်း။

¹²Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

¹²ဤရေတွင်းကို ငါတို့အဘ ယာကုပ်သည် ငါတို့အား ပေး၏။ သူ့ကိုယ်တိုင်မှစ၍၊ သားသမီး၊ တိရိစ္ဆာန် များတို့သည် ဤတွင်းရေကိုသောက်ကြပြီ။ သခင်သည် ထိုသူထက်ကြီးမြတ်သလောဟုဆို၏။

¹³Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

¹³ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ဤရေကိုသောက်သောသူသည် နောက်တဖန် ရေငတ်ဦးမည်။

¹⁴But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

¹⁴ငါပေးသောရေကိုသောက်သောသူမူကား၊ ရေငတ်ခြင်းနှင့်အစဉ်မပြတ် ကင်းလွတ်လိမ့်မည်။ ငါပေး သော ရေသည် ထိုသူ၌ထာဝရအသက်ရှင်ခြင်းအလိုငှါ ထွက်သော စမ်းရေဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁵The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

¹⁵မိန်းမကလည်း၊ သခင်၊ ကျွန်ုပ်သည်ရေငတ်ခြင်းနှင့်၎င်း၊ သည်ကိုလာ၍ရေခပ်ခြင်းနှင့်၎င်း ကင်းလွတ် မည်အကြောင်း ထိုရေကိုပေးပါဟု တောင်းလျှင်၊

¹⁶Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

¹⁶ယေရှုက၊ သွားလော့။ သင်၏လင်ကိုခေါ်၍ သည်ကိုလာဦးလော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁷The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

¹⁷မိန်းမကလည်း။ အကျွန်ုပ်၌လင်မရှိဟုဆိုလျှင်၊ ယေရှုက၊ လင်မရှိဟူသောစကားသည်မှန်၏။

¹⁸For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

¹⁸အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သင်၌လင်ငါးယောက်ရှိဘူးပြီ။ ယခုသင်နှင့်နေသောသူသည် သင်၏လင်မဟုတ်။ ဤအရာ၌ သင်သည်မှန်သော စကားကိုပြောပြီဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁹The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

¹⁹ထိုမိန်းမကလည်း၊ သခင်၊ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ပရောဖက်ဖြစ်သည်ကို အကျွန်ုပ်ရိပ်မိပါ၏။

²⁰Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

²⁰အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ဘိုးဘေးများသည် ဤတောင်ပေါ်၌ ကိုးကွယ်လေ့ရှိကြ၏။ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၌သာ ကိုးကွယ် ရမည်ဟု သင်တို့သည်ဆိုတတ်ကြ၏ဟု လျှောက်လျှင်၊

²¹Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

²¹ယေရှုက၊ အချင်းမိန်းမ၊ ငါ့စကားကိုယုံလော့။ ဤတောင်သို့ မလာ၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့သို့မသွားဘဲ ခမည်း တော်ကိုကိုးကွယ်ရမည် အချိန်ကာလရောက်ဆဲရှိ၏။

²²Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

²²သင်တို့သည်ကိုယ်မသိသောအရာကို ကိုးကွယ်ကြ၏။ ငါတို့သည်ကိုယ်သိသောအရာကို ကိုးကွယ်ကြ ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ယုဒလူတို့၌ ကယ်တင်ခြင်းအကြောင်းရှိ၏။

²³But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

²³ကိုးကွယ်သောသူမှန်သမျှတို့သည် ခမည်းတော်ကို နံဝိညာဉ်နှင့်၎င်း၊ သစ္စာတရားနှင့်၎င်း၊ ကိုးကွယ် ရမည့်အချိန်ကာလသည်လာ၍ ယခုပင်ရောက်လျက်ရှိ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုသို့ကိုးကွယ်သောသူတို့ကို ခမည်းတော်သည် အလိုရှိတော်မူ၏။

²⁴God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

²⁴ဘုရားသခင်သည် နံဝိညာဉ်ဖြစ်တော်မူ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်ကို ကိုးကွယ်သောသူတို့သည်၊ နံဝိညာဉ်နှင့် ၎င်း၊ သစ္စာနှင့်၎င်း ကိုးကွယ်ရမည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

²⁵The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

²⁵မိန်းမကလည်း၊ မေရှိကြွလာတော်မူသည်ဟု အကျွန်ုပ်သိပါ၏။ ရောက်တော်မူသောအခါ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ အား အလုံးစုံတို့ကိုဘော်ပြတော်မူမည်ဟု လျှောက်ပြန်၏။ မေရှိအနက်ကား၊ ခရစ်တော်ဟု ဆိုလိုသတည်း။

²⁶Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

²⁶ယေရှုကလည်း၊ သင်နှင့်စကားပြောသော ငါသည် မေရှိပင်ဖြစ်သည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

²⁷And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

²⁷ထိုအခါတပည့်တော်တို့သည် ရောက်လာ၍၊ ထိုမိန်းမနှင့်စကားပြောတော်မူသည်ကို အံ့ဩခြင်းရှိကြ၏၊ သို့သော်လည်း၊ အဘယ်အလိုတော်ရှိသနည်း၊ ထိုမိန်းမနှင့်အဘယ်ကြောင့် စကားပြောတော်မူသနည်းဟု အဘယ်သူမျှမလျှောက်ကြ။

²⁸The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

²⁸ထိုမိန်းမသည်လည်းရေအိုးကိုထားခဲ့၍ မြို့ထဲသို့ သွားပြီးလျှင်၊

²⁹Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

²⁹အကျွန်ုပ်ပြုဘူးသမျှသော အမူအရာတို့ကို ထုတ်ဘော်သောသူကိုလာ၍ကြည့်ကြပါ။ ထိုသူသည် ခရစ်တော်မှန်လိမ့်မည်လောဟု လူများတို့အား ပြောဆိုသော်၊

³⁰Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

³⁰သူတို့သည် မြို့ထဲမှထွက်၍ အထံတော်သို့ သွားကြ၏။

³¹In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

³¹မရောက်မှီတွင်တပည့်တော်တို့က၊ အရှင်ဘုရား၊ အစာကိုသုံးဆောင်တော်မူပါဟုတောင်းပန်ကြလျှင်၊

³²But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

³²သင်တို့မသိသော စားစရာသည် ငါ့၌ရှိသည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

³³Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?

³³ထိုကြောင့်တပည့်တော်တို့က၊ တစုံတယောက်သောသူသည် စားစရာကို ပို့ပြီလောဟု အချင်းချင်း မေး မြန်းကြလျှင်၊

³⁴Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

³⁴ယေရှုက၊ ငါ့ကိုစေလွှတ်တော်မူသောသူ၏ အလိုတော်ကိုဆောင်ခြင်း၊ သူ၏အမှုတော်ကို ပြီးစီးခြင်း အမှုသည် ငါ့စားစရာဖြစ်၏။

³⁵Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

³⁵ယခုမှစ၍ လေးလလွန်လျှင်၊ စပါးရိတ်ရာကာလဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ဟု သင်တို့ဆိုတတ်သည်မဟုတ်လော။ ငါဆိုသည်ကား၊ စပါးရိတ်ခြင်း အလိုငှါ လယ်ပြင်တို့သည် ယခုပင်ဝင်းဝင်းရှိသည်ကို မျှော်၍ကြည့်ကြလော့။

³⁶And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

³⁶စပါးရိတ်သောသူသည် အခကိုခံရ၍ ထာဝရအသက်ရှင်ခြင်းအလိုငှါ အသီးအနှံကိုစုသိမ်း၏။ သို့ဖြစ် လျှင် ပျိုးကြဲသောသူနှင့် စပါးရိတ်သောသူတို့သည် အတူဝမ်းမြောက်ကြလိမ့်မည်။

³⁷And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

³⁷တဦးကားပျိုးကြဲ၏။ တဦးကားစပါးရိတ်၏ဟူသော စကားသည် ဤအရာ၌အမှန်ကျသတည်း။

³⁸I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

³⁸သင်တို့သည် လယ်မလုပ်သောအရပ်၌ စပါးရိတ်စေခြင်းငှါ သင်တို့ကိုငါစေလွှတ်၏။ အခြားသော သူတို့သည် လယ်လုပ်ကြ၍၊ သင်တို့သည် ထိုသူတို့၏ အလုပ်ထဲသို့ ဝင်ရကြ၏ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

³⁹And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

³⁹ရှမာရိမိန်းမက၊ အကျွန်ုပ်ပြုဘူးသမျှသော အမှုအရာတို့ကို သူသည်ထုတ်ဘော်ပြီဟု သက်သေခံသော စကားကြောင့်၊ ထိုမြို့၌နေသော ရှမာရိလူအများတို့သည် ယေရှုကိုယုံကြည်ကြ၏။

⁴⁰So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

⁴⁰ထိုကြောင့်၊ ရှမာရိလူတို့သည် အထံတော်သို့ရောက်လျှင်၊ မိမိတို့အရပ်၌နေတော်မူမည်ကြောင်း တောင်းပန်၏။ ထိုအရပ်၌ နှစ်ရက်နေတော်မူ၏။

⁴¹And many more believed because of his own word;

⁴¹အခြားသောသူအများတို့သည် နှုတ်ကပတ်စကားတော်ကြောင့် ယုံကြည်၍၊

⁴²And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

⁴²ထိုမိန်းမအား၊ ယခုဖြစ်လျှင် ငါတို့သည် သင်၏စကားကြောင့်သာ ယုံကြည်သည်မဟုတ်။ စကားတော် ကို ကိုယ်တိုင်ကြားနာရ၍၊ ဤသူသည်လောကီသားတို့ကို ကယ်တင်တော်မူသော သခင်တည်းဟူသော ခရစ်တော် အမှန်စင်စစ်ဖြစ်တော်မူကြောင်းကို သိသည်ဟု ဆိုကြ၏။

⁴³Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

⁴³နှစ်ရက်လွန်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ထိုအရပ်မှထွက်၍ နာဇရက်မြို့ကို ရှောင်လျက်၊ ဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ ကြွတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁴For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

⁴⁴အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ပရောဖက်သည် မိမိနေရင်းပြည်၌ အသရေမရှိဟု ယေရှုသည် ကိုယ်တိုင်သက်သေ ခံတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁵Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.

⁴⁵ဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ ရောက်တော်မူသောအခါ၊ ဂါလိလဲလူတို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကိုလက်ခံကြ၏။ အကြောင်း မူကား၊ ထိုသူတို့သည် ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၌ ခံသောပွဲသို့ သွားတတ်သဖြင့်၊ ထိုပွဲအတွင်းတွင် ပြုတော်မူသမျှတို့ကို မြင်ခဲ့ကြ၏။

⁴⁶So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

⁴⁶ရေကိုစပျစ်ရည်ဖြစ်စေသောအရပ်၊ ဂါလိလဲပြည်ကာနမြို့သို့ တဖန်ကြွတော်မူ၏။ ကပေရနောင်မြို့၌ အမတ်တယောက်၏သားသည် အနာရောဂါစွဲလျက်ရှိ၏။

⁴⁷When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

⁴⁷ယေရှုသည်ယုဒပြည်မှဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ ရောက်တော်မူသည်ကို ထိုအမတ်သည်ကြားလျှင်၊ အထံတော်သို့ သွား၍ သေခါနီးဖြစ်သော မိမိသားဆီသို့ကြွ၍ အနာရောဂါကို ငြိမ်းစေတော်မူမည်အကြောင်း တောင်းပန် လေ၏။

⁴⁸Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

⁴⁸ယေရှုကလည်း၊ သင်တို့သည်နိမိတ်လက္ခဏာနှင့် အံ့ဖွယ်သောအမှုတို့ကို မမြင်ရလျှင်ယုံခြင်းမရှိကြဟု မိန့်တော်မူသော်၊

⁴⁹The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

⁴⁹သခင်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သားမသေမှီကြွတော်မူပါဟု အမတ်လျှောက်ပြန်၏။

⁵⁰Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

⁵⁰ယေရှုကလည်း၊ သွားလော့။ သင်၏သားသည် အသက်ချမ်းသာရပြီဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ ထိုအမတ်သည် ယေရှုမိန့်တော်မူသောစကားကို ယုံ၍သွားလေ၏။

⁵¹And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

⁵¹လမ်း၌သွားစဉ်တွင် မိမိငယ်သားတို့သည် ခရီးဦးကြိုလာ၍၊ ကိုယ်တော်၏သားတော်သည် အသက် ချမ်းသာရပါပြီဟု ကြားလျှောက်ကြ၏။

⁵²Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

⁵²အဘယ်အချိန်၌ သက်သာခြင်းသို့ ရောက်သနည်းဟုမေးလျှင်၊ မနေ့ခုနစ်နာရီအချိန်၌ ဖျားနာပျောက် ပါသည်ဟု လျှောက်ကြ၏။

⁵³So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

⁵³ထိုအချိန်ကား၊ သင်၏သားသည် အသက်ချမ်းသာရပြီဟု ယေရှုမိန့်တော်မူသောအချိန်ဖြစ်သည်ကို အဘသိ၍၊ ကိုယ်တိုင်မှစသော မိမိ၏အိမ်သူအိမ်သား အပေါင်းတို့သည် ယုံကြည်ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။

⁵⁴This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.

⁵⁴ဤနိမိတ်လက္ခဏာတော်ကား၊ ယေရှုသည် ယုဒပြည်မှဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ကြွသည်နောက်၊ ပြတော်မူသော ဒုတိယနိမိတ်လက္ခဏာဖြစ်သတည်း။
