1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਸਾਫ਼ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਤਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਝੂਠ ਆਖਦੇ ਹ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
2ਉਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਝੂਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਪਟੀ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਗੁਆ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਰਮ ਲੋਹੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
3ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਗਲਤ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਪਰ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਲੋਕ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੋਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੋਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
4ਹਰ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਜੀ ਹੈ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਜੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਾਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਜੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
5For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
5ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
6If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
6ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਓਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ। ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਕਡ਼ੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹੋ।
7But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
7ਲੋਕ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਲ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਾ ਚੱਲੋ। ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੋਣ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ।
8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
8ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਿਕ ਕਸਰਤ ਕਿਸੇ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਹਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿਖ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਦਗੀ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
9This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
9ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
10For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
10ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ; ਅਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਤੀਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ। ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
11These things command and teach.
11ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿਉ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿਉ।
12Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
12ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਰਤਾਓ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਉ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਣੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਢੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਬਣੋ।
13Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
13ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਥੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਥ ਸੁਣਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਬਣਾਉ, ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿਉ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੋ।
14Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
14ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀ ਦਾਤ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ ਉਸਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚੇਤੇ ਰਖੋ। ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਗੰਮੀ ਵਾਕ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
15Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
15ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਰਪਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਉ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੇਖ ਸਕਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
16Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
16ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿਉ। ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਖੋ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋਂ, ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
