1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
1ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪੁਨਰ ਉਥਾਨ ਮਸੀਹ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸਵਰਗੀ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੋ। ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਹਨ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
2ਸਵਰਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸੋਚੋ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
3ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਪਾਪੀ ਆਪਾ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਸੀਹ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
4ਮਸੀਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ।
5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
5ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਢ ਦਿਓ। ਉਹ ਹਨ; ਜਿਨਸੀ ਪਾਪ, ਅਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ, ਲਾਲਸਾ, ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਉਪਾਸਕ ਹਨ।
6For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
6ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
7In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
7ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।
8But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
8ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਢ ਦਿਓ; ਨਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਦੁਰਭਾਵਨਾ, ਦੂਸਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਨੀ।
9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
9ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਝੂਠ ਨਾ ਬੋਲੋ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਪਾਪੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਛੱਡ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੀ।
10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
10ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦ੍ਰਿਢ਼ਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਵਰਗੇ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਨਵੇਂ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
11Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
11ਇਸ ਨਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਅੰਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਜਾਂ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਸਕੂਥੀ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਅੰਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਅੰਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰੰਤੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਹੀ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਸਰਬ ਉਚ੍ਚ ਹੈ।
12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
12ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕੀ ਹੋ। ਉਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ, ਕਿਰਪਾ, ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ, ਸਜ੍ਜਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਰ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਹੋ।
13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
13ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿਉ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਗਲਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿਉ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਵੇਂ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
14ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੋ; ਪਰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ। ਪਿਆਰ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦੀ ਹੈ।
15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
15ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਉ। ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਹੋਵੋ।
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
16ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਅਮੀਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਸਣ ਦਿਉ। ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੋ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਦਾਰ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਜਨ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਓ।
17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
17ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣ ਡਿਉ। ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਯਿਸੂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰੋ।
18Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
18ਪਤਨੀਓ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰੋ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ।
19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
19ਪਤੀਓ, ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਤ੍ਤਮੀਜ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
20Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
20ਬਚਿਓ, ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਮੰਨੋ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
21Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
21ਪਿਤਾਓ, ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾਜਨਕ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਓ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਖਤ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨੀ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
22Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
22ਨੌਕਰੋ, ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਮੰਨੋ। ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਹੀ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਤੁਹਾਥੋਂ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰੋ।
23And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
23ਹਰ ਕੰਮ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਰੋ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
24Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
24ਯਾਦ ਰਖੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹੋ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਉਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
25But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
25ਯਾਦ ਰਖੋ ਕਿ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸਲੂਕ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
