1For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
1Unaute aw, na lak ua, ka lutna uh ana thawnta kei chih noumau mahin na thei ngal ua;
2But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
2A thawn hih naksangin, huai malamin, na theihsa bangun, Philippi khua ah gimthuak leh zumhuai taka bawla ka om nungun, dalna thupitak lakah leng Pathian tanchin hoih na kiang ua gen dingin ka Pathian uah hangsanna ka nei jaw uhi.
3For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
3Ka thugen uh juaua pawt ahi ngal keia, sianlouhnaa suak leng ahi keia, zekhemnain leng ahi sam keia;
4But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
4Tanchin hoih kepsaka om dinga Pathian hoihsak mi ka hih bang ngei un, mihing hihkipak ding bang hiloua ka lungtang uh zeetpa Pathian hih kipak jawin, thu ka gen jel uh ahi jaw hi.
5For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:
5Chiklai peuh inleng kimaitang phatna thu hiam, huaiham khuhmangna ding thu hiam ka zong ngei kei uh chih na thei uh; Pathian hontheihpihpa ahi.
6Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
6Kris sawltak ka hih jiakun mi adingin chimtakhuaipi hi thei mah le ung, mihing lakah-nou lakah leh midangte lakah leng, pahtawina ka zong ngei sam kei uhi.
7But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
7Nu naupom, amah tate hawmthoh taka kem bangin, na lakuah nunnem takin ka om jaw uhi.
8So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
8Huchiin, ittaka nou kon lunggulh tuntun jiakun, Pathian tanchin hoih kia hilou-in, koumau hinna leng honpiak hial ka ut mahmah uhi.
9For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
9Unaute aw, ka sep tawl dan u leh ka sepgim dan uh na theigige uhi; na lak uah kuamah ka suktuailuai louhna ding un, sun leh jana nasemin, Pathian tanchinhoih nou ka honhilh uhi.
10Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
10Nou gingtate tunga siangthou tak leh diktak leh dembeia ka omdan uh a hontheihpihte na hi uhi, huan, Pathian leng.
11As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,
11Na theih mah bangun, Pain amah tate tunga ahih banga hasuan leh khamuanin nou kontheisak uh,
12That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
12Amah gam leh thupinaa nou honsamlutpa Pathian mi hi dia kilawmhima na hin theihna dingun.
13For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
13Hiai jiakin tawp louin Pathian kiangah kipahthu ka gengen uhi, Pathian thu koumau akipana na muh uh, na san lai un leng, mihing thu sang bangin na sang kei ua; Pathian thu ahihna bangtaka na san jawk jiak un; huai tuh Pthiana ahi hima, gingta mi noumau sunga sem jel mah ahi.
14For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
14Nou, unaute aw, Juda gama Pathian saptuam pawl Kris Jesua omte juite na nahi ua, amau tuh Judate laka thuak bang un, nou leng noumau gam mite lakah na thuak sam ngal ua.
15Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
15Huai Judaten tuh Toupa Jesu leh jawlneite leng a that ua, kou leng a hondelh khia ua, Pathian a sulungkim kei ua, mi tengteng a kalh nak uhi;
16Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
16Hotdam a hih theihna ding ua Jentelte kiang a thugen a honkham ua, a khelhna uh hih dim gige dingin; himahleh, thangpaihna tuh a khawk theihtawpin a tunguah a hontungta hi.
17But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.
17Ahihhangin, unaute aw, sawtlou kala dia noumau toh lungtang lama kikhen loua, pumpi lam kiaa kikhena i om takdih jiakin, kilawp taka na mel uh mu dingin ka pang sansan uhi.
18Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
18Na kiang ua hongpai ka tum chiltel ngal ua. Kei Paula ngei inleng nihvei tak hongpai ka natuma, himahleh Setanin a hondal nak ahi.
19For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
19Ka lametna u hiam, ka kipahna u hiam, ka lallukhu suan u hiam bang ahia leh? A hongpai chiangin i Toupa Jesu maah noumau mah na hi kei ding ua hia?Nou khawngmah ka suan uh leh ka kipahna uh na hi uhi.
20For ye are our glory and joy.
20Nou khawngmah ka suan uh leh ka kipahna uh na hi uhi.
