1Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.
1Unaute aw, pate aw, tun ah na kiang uah ka siamna thu ka honhilh ding hi, ngaikhia un, a chi a.
2(And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)
2Huan, Hebru pauin a kiang uah thu a gen chih a jak tak un, a dai nawn sem ua; huan, aman,
3I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
3Juda mi ka hia, Silisia gama Tarsa khua a piang ka hi a, himahleh hiai khua ah Gamaliel khe bula zila khanglian ka hi, i pipute Dan omdan kimtak zil jela om ka hia, tunia noumau tengteng bangtakin Pathian adinga phatuam ngai sam jel ka hi.
4And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
4Huan, hiai Lama mite hihlum hial khopin ka sawi jela, numei-pasal ka hena, suangkulh ah ka khumsak jel ahi.
5As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
5Siampu Lianpen leh upate tengtengin leng huai thu hontheihpih thei hi, amau akipanin leng unaute piak dingin lai ka mu hi, huan, Damaska khua a om peuhmah, a sawi ding un, hensa a Jerusalem khua a pi dingin ka hoh hi.
6And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
6Huan, kapaia, Damaska khua kiang ka tunin, sun annek hun lain, thakhatin van akipan vak thupitak ka kim ah a hongvak puapa,
7And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

8And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
8Huan, ken, Toupa kua na hia? chiin, ka donga. Huan, aman ka kiangah, Nazarit Jesu na sawi ka hi, a chi a.
9And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
9Huan, ka lawmten vak jaw a mu ua, honhoupihpa aw jaw a za kei uhi.
10And I said, What shall I do, LORD? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.
10Huan, ken, Toupa, bang ka hih dia? ka chi a. Huan, Toupan, ka kiangah, Thou inla, Damaska khua ah lutin, thil tengteng na hihding a chih peuhmah a honhilh ding uh, a chi a.
11And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
11Huan, huai vak thupi jiakin khua ka mu theita keia, ka lawmten khutin a honkai ua, Damaska khua ah ka lutta ahi.
12And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
12Huan, mi khat, Anania, Dan lama Pathian limsak leh, huai Juda omte tengteng kianga min hoih,
13Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
13ka kiangah a honga, ka kiangah a dinga, ka kiangah, Unau Suala, mit vak nei in, a honchi a. Huan, huai laitakin amah ka mu touta hi.
14And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
14Huan, aman I pipute Pathianin a deihlam thei leh Mi Kichian mu a, a kamsuak za dingin a honsepta hi.
15For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
15Na muh leh na jak thu ah mi tengteng kiangah amah thutheihpihpa na hi ding.
16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
16Huan, bangdia omom na hia? thou inla, amah min lou kawmin baptisma tang inla, na khelhna hihsiang tanla, a honchi hi.
17And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
17Huan, Jerusalem khua a ka pain awn nungin, Pathian biakina ka thum laiin, mengmu bangin ka oma.
18And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
18Huan, Kin inla, Jerusalem khua akipan pawtin; ka tanchin nag en ding a pom tuak kei uh, a honchih lai ka mu a.
19And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:
19Huan, ken, Toupa kikhopna in tenga nang gingta peuhmah ka hentasak a, ka vuak jel dan a thei ngal ua.
20And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
20Huan, na thu theihpihpa Stephen sisan a suah lai un kei leng a kiang uah ka dinga, ka nalemsa a, a hihlumte puan khawng leng ka nakem ahi, ka chi a.
21And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
21Huan, aman, Pai in, hiai akipanin gamla taka Jentelte kiangah ka honsawl ding ahi, a honchita a, a chi a.
22And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
22Huan, huai thu tanin a ngaikhia ua; huan, aw ngaihtakin, Mi hichi bang phiangsan khovel akipan hihmangthang un; hingtak ahi kei hi, a chita ua.
23And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
23Huan, a kikou ua, a puan khawng uh a hawk ua, a pai ua, leivui a vik ua,
24The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
24huchiin, sepaih heutu lalpenin Paula kulh sunga pilot thu a pia a, a tungah huchi tela a kikouna uh a theihna dingin vuak kawma dottel ding, a chi a.
25And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
25Huan, savun khaua a lehhensawm khit un, Paulain, a kianga ding sepaih zaheutu kiangah, Rome mi himhim na vo thei ua hia? siamlouh tansak nung leng lah hilouin? a chi a.
26When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.
26Huan, sepaih zaheutuin huai a jak takin, sepaih zaheutu lianpen kiangah a hoh a, na thilhih ding pilvang dih aw; hiai mi Rome mi a na hi e, a chi a, a hilh a.
27Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
27Huan, sepaih heutu lianpen a honga, a kiangah, Rome mi na hi maw? honhilh in, a chi a.
28And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
28Huan, aman, Hi e, a chi a. Huan, sepaih heutu lianpenin, hiai khomi hihna ken sum tampia ka lei ahi, chiin, a dawnga. Huan, Paulain, kei jaw Romemi a piang him kahi, a chi a.
29Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
29Huchiin, dottel tumten amah a paisan pah ngal ua; sepaih heutu lianpenin leng Rome mi ahi chih a theihin a kihta a, a hen jiakin a lau hi.Huan, a jingin, Judaten bangjiakin ahia Paula a hek uh chih theihtel tumin, sepaih heutu lianpenin amah a phela, siampu liante leh vaihawm tengteng kikhop ding thu a pia a, Paula a pi suka, a ma uah a dingsakta hi.
30On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
30Huan, a jingin, Judaten bangjiakin ahia Paula a hek uh chih theihtel tumin, sepaih heutu lianpenin amah a phela, siampu liante leh vaihawm tengteng kikhop ding thu a pia a, Paula a pi suka, a ma uah a dingsakta hi.
