1My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
1Ka unaute aw, I Toupa Jesu Kris, Thupina Toupa gingta kawmin, mi khentuam neikei un,
2For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
2Na kikhopna in uah mi dangkaeng zungbuh bun, puan hoih tak silh honglut leh, huan, mi genthei puan se tak silh honglut samta leh;
3And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
3huchiin, puan hoih tak silhmi tuh na limsak ua, a kiangah, Nang hiai mun hoih ah tuin, na chi ua, mi genthei kiang abel, Nang jaw huaiah ding inla, a hih keileh, ka khe ngakna nuaiah tuin, na chih uleh,
4Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
4na lungsim uah khentuam neia ngaihtuahna gilou pu, gense mite na hong hi kei ding ua hia?
5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
5Ka unau deihtakte aw, Pathianin hiai khovela gentheite ginnaa hau ding leh, amah itte kianga achiam gam luah ding khawng bangin a chi kei ahia?
6But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
6Nou bel migentheite bang na zahlaksak zota ua. Mihaute hilou uhia nou honnuaisiah? Mihaute hilou uhia vaihawmna ina nou honkailut?
7Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
7Amaute hilou uhia min manpha na put uh gensete?
8If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
8Himahleh laisiangthouin, Nangmah na kiit bangin na vengte na it ding ahi, chih kumpi dan na zop uleh, na hih hoih uh;
9But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
9Himahleh mi khentuam na neih uleh, na hih khial uhi, danin talekte na hih uh a honthei sak ngala.
10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
10Kuapeuhin dan jui kim mahleh, munkhata a hihkhelh ngalin tuh, a vekah siamlouhtangin a om khinta ahi.
11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
11Angkawm ken, chipan, Tualthat ken, a chi laingala. Huchiin angkawm keimah lechin tual na thah ngalin tuh, dana talekpa na hita himhim ahi.
12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
12Huaijiakin noplenna dana vaihawm sakdingte bangin thugen unla, thil hih belap un.
13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
13Mi tunga chitna neilou tuh chitna pang louin vaihawm a zou nak ahi.
14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
14Ka unauate aw, min ginna ka nei chimahleh, thil hih aneihkei leh, bang a phatuam dia? Huchibang ginna in amah a hondam thei ding hia?
15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
15Unaupa hiam, unau nu hiam, vuaktanga om in a niteng annek tasam le uh,
16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
16Huchiin nalak ua kuahiam in a kiang ah, khamuang takin pai unla, lum tak leh vahtak in awm un chi unla, asa a ding a thil kiphamawh pe tuankei le uchin bang a phatuam dia?
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
17Huchibangmahin ginna leng thilhih neiloua amah kiaa a om leh a si ahi.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
18Ahi, mi kuahiamin, Nang ginna na neia, ken thilhih ka nei ahi; na ginna tuh na thilhih panglouin hon ensak in huan ken ka thilhihin ka ginna ka hon ensak ding,
19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
19Pathian tuh khat ahi, na gingta maw? Na hih hoih e: dawiten leng a gingta ua, a ling zel uhi, a chi ding.
20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
20Mi thulimlou aw, thilhih panglou a ginna lel bangmah ahi kei chih na thei nuam hia?
21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
21I pu Abrahamin a tapa Isaak maitam tung a alat laiin thilhih ziaka siamtang ahika hia?
22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
22Ginna in a thilhih toh a sem khawm khawma, huan, thilhih ziakin ginna uh akimta chih I thei hi.
23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
23Huan, Abrahamin Pathian a gingtaa, huai ginna tuh a diktatna a sim ahi, chih Laisiangthou hihkim in a om a; huchiin mah tuh Pathian lawm chih in a om hi.
24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
24Ginna ziak maimah hilou in, thilhih ziak zaw in, min siam a tang jel uh chih natheita uhi.
25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
25Huchibangmah in, Rahab kizuaknun leng sawltakte a nakipahpih a lam tuama a pai sak laiin, thilhih ziakin siam a tang ahi kei maw?Kha panglou in sa tuh si ahi, huchibangmahin thilhihte panglou in ginna leng si ahi.
26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
26Kha panglou in sa tuh si ahi, huchibangmahin thilhihte panglou in ginna leng si ahi.
