¹And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

¹ آن فرشته‌ای که لباس سفید کتانی پوشیده بود، به کلام خود ادامه داده گفت: «در آن زمان میکائیل، فرشتهٔ اعظم، برای حمایت قوم تو می‌آید و چنان دوران سختی پیش می‌آید که در تاریخ بشر سابقه نداشته است، امّا هرکسی از قوم تو که نامش در کتاب خدا نوشته شده باشد، نجات می‌یابد.

²And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

² تمام کسانی‌که مرده‌اند، زنده می‌شوند. بعضی برای حیات جاودانی و برخی برای خجالت و رسوایی ابدی.

³And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

³ حکیمان همانند آفتاب خواهند درخشید و کسانی‌که مردم را به راه راست هدایت کرده‌اند، همچون ستارگان تا ابد تابناک می‌شوند.»

⁴But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

⁴ بعد به من گفت: «امّا تو ای دانیال، این پیشگویی را در دلت مخفی نگه‌دار و کتاب را مُهر کن تا آخر زمان فرا رسد. بسیاری از مردم بیهوده تلاش می‌کنند تا بفهمند که چه حوادثی رخ خواهد داد.»

⁵Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

⁵ آنگاه من، دانیال، نگاه کردم و دو نفر دیگر را دیدم که یکی در این سوی رود و دیگری در آن سوی رود ایستاده بودند.

⁶And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

⁶ یکی از آنها که همان فرشتهٔ سفیدپوشی بود که در این هنگام در بالای رود ایستاده بود، پرسید: «چقدر طول می‌کشد تا این حوادث عجیب به پایان برسد؟»

⁷And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

⁷ فرشته در جواب، هر دو دست خود را به سوی آسمان بلند کرد و به نام خدای جاوید قسم خورد و گفت: «این وضع تا سه سال و نیم ادامه خواهد یافت و وقتی ستمی که بر قوم خدا می‌شود خاتمه یابد، این حوادث هم به پایان خواهد رسید.»

⁸And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

⁸ آنچه را که او گفت شنیدم، امّا به مفهوم آن پی نبردم. پس پرسیدم: «آقای من، آخر این وقایع چه می‌شود؟»

⁹And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

⁹ او جواب داد: «ای دانیال، اکنون برو، زیرا آنچه گفتم تا آخر زمان فرا برسد، مُهر شده و مخفی خواهد ماند.

¹⁰Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

¹⁰ عدّهٔ زیادی پاک و طاهر می‌شوند، ولی مردم بدکار چیزی نمی‌فهمند و به کارهای زشت خود همچنان ادامه می‌دهند. امّا خردمندان همه‌چیز را درک خواهند کرد.

¹¹And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

¹¹ «از وقتی‌که قربانی‌های روزانه منع شود و آن بت در معبد بزرگ قرار گیرد، یک‌هزار و دویست و نود روز سپری خواهد گشت.

¹²Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

¹² خوشا به حال کسی‌که صبر می‌کند تا این دورهٔ یک‌هزار و دویست و نود روزه به پایان برسد. «امّا ای دانیال، راه خود را دنبال کن تا روز مرگت فرا رسد، امّا بدان که در آخر زمان زنده خواهی شد تا پاداش خود را دریافت کنی.»

¹³But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

¹³ «امّا ای دانیال، راه خود را دنبال کن تا روز مرگت فرا رسد، امّا بدان که در آخر زمان زنده خواهی شد تا پاداش خود را دریافت کنی.»
